I’ve been in Star just under two years. State St (44) was to be widened next summer but funding from the state was delayed for a year. Star Rd to Canada on State will be done by the end of next summer. Construction and sales have slowed a bit so much of the road delays will have minimal impact in my opinion. The delay on State will have its biggest impact because the apartments next to 16 won’t finish at the same time. Star is wonderful the Mayor and city council are looking out for the city’s best interests.
Growth and development are out of control in Star. The city council can not say no to developers. It was once a very nice semi-rural community. The city council has made the decision to urbanize Star. Rush hour traffic is terrible.
The biggest issue with Star is the ridiculous rise in home prices in such a short time, doubled in price. The migration has been terrible for locals. Our wages sure didn't go up anywhere close. Now our home taxes are ridiculous. The conjested roads are second in my opinion. They just add to it no longer being a small hometown feel, and the affordability for locals is gone too.
Do you think Middleton is in the same situation? They only have Main Street I believe. More people are moving there too and they have 2 lane roads. Do you think Middleton is up and coming too or do you think they will keep their small town feel for a long time?
My personal opinion is Middleton still has time before this is an issue. Hopefully they get ahead of the game as far as infrastructure is concerned. - Ken (Go Idaho social media manager)
Middletown city council voted down a bypass. I have not seen what they plan for accommodating traffic. Star actually has plans for moving downtown commercial to Star Road as traffic increases.
Once the transportation infrastructure is fully operational; and new housing developments are built watch out for the wealthy out of staters who will want to live in a small town setting .
I’d hope not. If people from California are moving here, it’s likely to get away from the garbage in California. California has plenty of conservative, friendly, hard-working people that want to be around like-minded people.

They definitely need more restaurants and amenities and roads
Well-discussed topic, brother! Love the Star in-depth info!
Appreciate your continued support.
Star Rd needs left turn lanes in several places

It has been Californicated. Crowded horrible. No more wildlife no more views just rooftops.
The next California.

I am not sure a lot of them will stay. I am already hearing some of them want to leave.
