  • I believe that I got a deal. I bought a used hot rod and this is what happened. Lots of issues to look out for and lots to fix on this one. In this video we will take a look at what it will need to be fixed and road worthy to use.

Hey Spanky. Now that is a cool ride. I would love to have one like that.
Man, those welds would not hold no matter what. They were just sitting on the metal. No penetration at all.
I like it the way it is, but I would like to see it in bark cherry. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁

Leave the colour like it is but add some metal flake - make it sparkle! Also spend more time on the front end - bushings and shock mounts - should be good to go.

Going through similar issues with a '66 Nova SS that I bought with "opinion" of another Nova guy in a different part of the country. The car was supposed to be good, all the issues worked out. Immediately had to put a clutch in the thing, the seller/builder put a long throw out bearing in instead of a short one like early Chevy II's use, making a brand-new clutch glaze and slip like crazy. In comparison, other issues with the car are minor, to be fixed and driven as time and money come along. (In a month, I've already been offered $15K more than I paid. It's close to my high school ride so I'm not selling it.) The other thing that I have encountered buying any used Hot Rod is certain people have a tolerance level for what they are willing to fix or get the bugs ironed out! Then there are the "Flippers", just after a buck. Some are honest; others make a used car salesman look like a preacher boy! LoL!
