Thailand is great- but you need an online income stream or need to go down the English teacher. I am English and have lived/ worked in Singapore, Thailand, India, China(shorter period) US, and several European countries..... and honestly say that 12 months living in the UK in a shit area is not great..... but if you live in a semi-decent countryside/ suburb place then summer here is amazing. I was just in Bangkok and it was boiling and pollution was a nightmare and am so happy to be back. Like your passion but prob best to stick to the 'pull factors' of other countries rather than why it's so shit here..... because honestly there are shit parts of Australia etc.

The only problem is that those people forget they don’t build up a pension. That makes living at the moment a lot cheaper but when you retire, you don’t have an income….

If you get really sick, which is more likely outside of a first world country, who is going to pay for the health care (which can be really expensive)? Wages are a lot lower and get you a lot less for your money in other countries. Definitely a valid point to consider.
What about healthcare? What abiut thebfact locals will charge yiu more than they do locals? What about language? Different culture? What about infrastructure? What about cost of flights taking a big chunk of that 5k away? I could go on
