We have a Petrol Swift same 2010 model getting a mileage 15kmpl It is a flood affected vehicle but Power and torque is the same but in initial we got 17kmpl mileage now only 15kmpl. Love to drive our car in Highways. It is a well refined 1.3ltr petrol engine with 88bhp and 124nm torque. As you Said Build quality is very good with a good weight. Main thing it is stable in highways at highspeeds. Now we gonna upgrade to a new car Xl6 but won't sell our Swift it's our first Car.
Very nice, now a days diesel engines are stopped due to pollution issues. But as you said diesel engines are unmatched in power and torque, enjoyable and engage to drive

Main reason for stopping is Maruti Suzuki not interested in investing for BS6 Diesel, to design compact BS6 engine need lot of investment, and only for Indian such a huge investment is loss for Maruti.Diesel type is not available in Toyota Innova Hycross also, even world No 1 Toyota is not interested in Diesel only for India

maruthi is lagging behind in sales due to withdrawal of diesel cars. maruthi think that smart hybrid technology will be helpful to replace the diesel cars in terms of kilometer but it is not so. now a days we search the new sales swift and desire cars in road with the help of magnification lens only. because they withdraw diesel version. once upon a time maruthi called their dezire car as diesel raja. now dezire and swift sales is very low. they stands its first position with the help of low budget cars like wagon r and celero. maruthi's adamant continues it goes to very poor sales company.
