Based off of the fact that all Nu Metal was a marketing scheme in order to make money by bridging the gap between Metal and Other popular genres of the era. Then Linkin Park emerges as the epitome of this Pop-Metal movement, with a super over-produced, clean-cut, approachable sound. Then after some time goes by, someone from their label claims that Linkin Park was something they created, and that all their music was ghost-written (probably not entirely the case, but the scandal was still there.) Then their second record drops, and it might as well have been their first one, same dynamics, same song-writing. Its like a part 2 to the first record. Then after that success, instead of making a third album, they make a remix album, capitalizing more on the Rap and Electronic side of Nu Metal. Then 2005 comes around and because Rap is just as popular as the dying Nu Metal sound, they do yet ANOTHER remix album with Jay-Z. So they made about 4 albums of 2 albums worth of songs they KNEW would sell. And then, 2006 six comes around, and the last Nu Metal albums were released, and Nu Metal comes to a close. 2007 comes around and Linkin Park COMPLETELY changes their genre. They kept their signature sound and killer song-writing, but became something that feels altogether more real and adult, something they've probably been dying to explore. It's truly thought provoking and musical. And they never went back to anything remotely like that style. They moved further and further away from rock music even, just exploring and loving music. I guess everyone claims they are back now...but not really, their latest album is more of an Punk-Rock album. Anyway, I am a huge fan of Linkin Park, they are the band I respect, probably, the most. And you are right, I couldn't possibly know that, its all just speculation based off of how I've seen their career go, and how much I like and pay attention to Nu Metal. Honestly I grew out of Rise bands when they all became more of a scene and all started sounding the same but I like these guys a lot. They remind me of a melodic hacktivist. Gonna buy this album for sure.
If anything the fact they have some similarities in sounds to other bands shows who has inspired them in their journey to make their own music and I love the blend its really awesome sound and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them :)

Do you people even know what Nu-Metal *sounds* like?! Hybrid Theory and Meteora were barely Nu-Metal. Barely. The term Nu-Metal is better applied to Korn, Slipknot, Staind, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Trapt, and P.O.D. LP very barely resemble those bands, and this doesn't at all. This is melodic metalcore with rapping. That's all it is. It's basically what would happen if We Came As Romans had a rapper. Adding a vocal style, rapping, over semi metal instrumentals doesn't make Nu-Metal at all. There are other factors like scales, types of guitars, key signatures and time signatures that separate Nu-Metal from it's other metal counterparts. Not just rapping.

Ryan Walsh Essentially, this music doesn't groove. It isn't as compact and controlled as Nu-Metal requires it to be. Groove isn't as important in the metalcore genre, but this is more rhythmic than standard metalcore. Therefore, the best label is melodic metalcore, Like We Came As Romans or certain BMTH songs

Actually in their song Light Escapes the rapping vocals sites both Linkin Park and innerpartysystem as inspiration. In addition the rapping vocalist's vocal patterns and composition are very reminiscent of Mike Shinoda's vocals. They have been compared to Linkin Park by a lot of people. Either way, I've been waiting for this CD for over a year! Glad they're finally hitting the spotlight!
Why Rise Records decided to drop these guys over half of the trash lineup they have is truly puzzling. Glad they were able to release more of their work.
There's nothing like Linkin Park beside the Emcee's style. People worry too much about comparing stuff. Just enjoy the music or post relevant comments. I think this is one of the most innovative band I've heard in a long time. I always wanted to hear some metalcore/screamo stuff mixed with rap/hip-hop and electronics with good quality and talent, and these guys bring it. Can't wait to listen to the whole record.
With all the LP fans coming over to this band, they could be Rise's next best, along with Sleeping With Sirens, Hands Like Houses, SECRETS, etc. Another band for the company to be known for.

Do you people even know what Nu-Metal *sounds* like?! Hybrid Theory and Meteora were barely Nu-Metal. Barely. The term Nu-Metal is better applied to Korn, Slipknot, Staind, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Trapt, and P.O.D. LP very barely resemble those bands, and this doesn't at all. This is melodic metalcore with rapping. That's all it is. It's basically what would happen if We Came As Romans had a rapper. Adding a vocal style, rapping, over semi metal instrumentals doesn't make Nu-Metal at all. There are other factors like scales, types of guitars, key signatures and time signatures that separate Nu-Metal from it's other metal counterparts. Not just rapping.

Ryan Walsh Essentially, this music doesn't groove. It isn't as compact and controlled as Nu-Metal requires it to be. Groove isn't as important in the metalcore genre, but this is more rhythmic than standard metalcore. Therefore, the best label is melodic metalcore, Like We Came As Romans or certain BMTH songs

Actually in their song Light Escapes the rapping vocals sites both Linkin Park and innerpartysystem as inspiration. In addition the rapping vocalist's vocal patterns and composition are very reminiscent of Mike Shinoda's vocals. They have been compared to Linkin Park by a lot of people.
Either way, I've been waiting for this CD for over a year! Glad they're finally hitting the spotlight!

There's nothing like Linkin Park beside the Emcee's style. People worry too much about comparing stuff. Just enjoy the music or post relevant comments. I think this is one of the most innovative band I've heard in a long time. I always wanted to hear some metalcore/screamo stuff mixed with rap/hip-hop and electronics with good quality and talent, and these guys bring it. Can't wait to listen to the whole record.

With all the LP fans coming over to this band, they could be Rise's next best, along with Sleeping With Sirens, Hands Like Houses, SECRETS, etc. Another band for the company to be known for.
