Brilliant as usual. Best prog metal band in the world. Can't agree with the last few bits of analysis. What do you want some deathcore breakdowns? They have so many different elements sprinkled in their songs not sure what you actually want?
It's gonna be tough to top this...with NeO, there's always an expectation...you're gonna have the duality of voices, along with soaring violin sections, metalcore sextions, etc...but here, they allowed simple to just be simple... 10-12 minute writing isn't easy, but it seems as though everything sounds just so easy for them... This HAS to be the most excited I've been for new NeO since before Urn. Great review guys! !HORNS!
Personally Equus left me partly jaded. Typically nothing was wrong, it just felt a bit dragging, despite the ending being chill inducing. This one really grabbed me from the beginning and it never let me go. Loved it!
That's a common criticism I see. I think 'jaded' is a bit extreme, it's still an extremely fucking good song, it's just maybe a little longer than it needs to be.
