"Ganamoorthe shri Krishna Venugaanalola" the Thyagaraja kriti is in Ganamurti ragam ( known as Ganasamavaraaḷi in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Music;) which is the 3rd Melakarta ragam , the shuddha madhyamam equivalent of 'Jhalavarali', which is the 39th Melakarta. It has Kakali Nishadham in both Arohanam and Avarohanam despite all other sworas are Sudha sworas, That is the USP of the ragam!!!! Apart from this very popular Thayagaraja kriti, other well known compositions are "Brihadeeswara rakshatuma" by Muthuswami Dikshitar and Dr.M. Balamuralikrisha/Guru Dr. BMK's kriti- Pahi Jagadİswara.
Here Sreevalsan Menon presented a lovely rendition with good tone and diction; Of course without a ragaalapana. Charanam sung enchantingly; Swarakalpana , good exposition of the ragam.....thats visibly unique with N3.. Best wishes !
