Danny has decided to stay away from the comments on this series (for now). He won't be spoiled, I'll make sure of it 🤫 I'll pass on any thoughts you would like to share with him though! If you guys would like to talk about book content, maybe just give a little spoiler warning at the start of your comment, just to be mindful of other new ‘tv show only’ viewers! Thanks for watching everyone❤
I think a little detail in this episode goes unnoticed Annabeth says "monsters can't smell you through that" meaning the bathroom So the throw away line on the first episode that was more played as a joke actually has meaning "It's near the septic tank so it's cheap" When Percy and Sally were in Montauk I don't really have much to say about this, I just thought it was a nice little detail
I love the discussion after. You are both so engaged, it's fun to listen!! I also really like the conversation between our trio at the end of the episode. It's so refreshing (compared to many other stories) for Percy to get the whole friend betrayal -part of the prophecy out in the open this early on so that it doesn't have the chance to become a season-long drama lol
I don't love how they dispatched Medusa so easily. She's been around for thousands of years, survived countless attempts on her life, and an untrained 11-year-old takes her head with one swipe? Most films (even the first "Percy" one) make her much harder to battle but this was kind of a joke. Such a shame since Jessica Parker Kennedy is a fantastic actor and this characterization was great... for a few minutes. Another great post, guys. Cheers and Happy New Year from Florida.
She will come back eventually. Monsters don't die. She had already been killed in mythological times by the real first Perseus. They were 2 demi gods against her this time + a flying Grover.
I get what you’re saying, but Annabeth’s brains and Percy’s bravery are nearly unmatched in this world, so I don’t think it’s too unbelievable that they would devise a plan that could actually take her down.
she gets killed by a satyr and 2 literal demigods .. one of them being a son of poseidon and the most powerful demigod alive . 3 vs 1 . it makes sense for this fight to be quick
I think my favorite thing about this episode is the comedy takes a good step up Percy has a complete lack of social awareness and its hilarious "She met a pinecone's fate" is by far my favorite line so far
(book related, not really a spoiler but 🤷♀️) Regarding the shoes Luke gives Percy - you remembered correctly! He realizes he can't use them due to Zeus and then feels too bad/awkward about it to tell Luke, so he ends up giving them to Grover to use after they leave camp 😅😅 I really like the effects on the shoe wings in the show. They look so cool!!
Beautiful reaction! I have a little theory: in the Greek number system, 600 represented the consonant kʰ converted into Latin with the letter X. I like to imagine that the plane of Olympus is an X like the treasures were marked on the maps. I found Annabeth's indecision about candy very cute, considering that she entered Camp Half-Blood when she was 7 and hadn't left for 5, the fact that she was lost and curious to try new things was cute.
I love this theory!! Also you’re so right about Annabeth, I wasn’t quite sure what was happing in that moment but I understand now. That’s so precious 🥹 thank you for your comment
Medusa was great, casting really knew what they were doing choosing someone that had acted in a mask before (the flash); would be like casting grant gustin as daredevil, very smart choices
Excellent reaction! In my opinion, Medusa is the kind of monster who didn’t get a choice in her origin, but merely chose how she presented herself later on. She may not been the the evil that created her, but she became evil when she chose to hurt people that were innocent like her at one point. Kind of like Wanda from MCU or Ingrid from Once Upon A Time. Also Grover is definitely my favorite character!!!! 🧑🏼🦱👩🏿🦱🧑🏾🦱🗡️🧢🐍💙🩵🩶🤍💚🤎

to be fair they killed her pretty easy in the books too i don’t even remember her death being more than a page😭

She met a pinecones fate is a top tier Percy Jackson line, I died
I like how they made Medusa tell her own story, she wasn't a bad person it's Athena cursed her
I couldn’t agree more!

the audio isnt that bad!
Hahaha we appreciate this, we were devastated when we realised what had happened!
Yeah, I've definitely heard worse audio issues before! It's really only a slight echo, IMO.
You guys might have my favorite reactions to this show honestly
Interesting choice for favourite character for Danny :D
I have to agree ☺️☺️
You talking too much about the book , it’s making it very difficult to watch . I’m sorry I have to stop watching however good reactions nonetheless
