- Union minister of petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday linked the recent fuel price hike with the Congres rule and, citing economists, the minister said that the Congress had left oil bonds worth crores for repayment, which is why the current Bharatiya Janata Party-led government has to pay both its interest and principal price. “This is also a big reason for the rise in fuel prices,” he told news agency ANI. On May 16, 2014, when the UPA ceded office to the NDA, the price of petrol in Delhi was Rs 71.41 per litre. This was a hike of 75.8% over 5 years and 112% over 10 years. Diesel, too, saw a big jump with prices rising from Rs 30.86 per litre to Rs 56.71 per litre. This was a hike of 83.7% over 5 years and 160% over 10 years

My scooter's battery is not holding charge for sufficient time, the service person is saying the battery needs to be replaced and the cost is estimated to be Rs 22k, I am in dilemma should I get it fixed or go back start using my old petrol scooter? According to my service person the battery has gone bad because I have not charged frequently and used it appropriately.
But in last 1 year since I have taken this scooter my travel itself has reduced due to Covid19 situation. I go out only when it is extremely necessary. If I replace batteries and again if it is not utilised then I may end up spending again on new batteries pack by next year.
My wife suggested to use my old scooter, as I need to fill petrol only when I need to take it out, otherwise I need not fill fuel.
If I use petrol scooter, I end up spending about 10k in a year and if I get my electric scooter battery replaced it will cost around 22 to 25k depending upon the service cost.
If I think of economics petrol scooter is better and if I think of emissions, electric is better. But energy consumption in any form is bad for environment. E=mc2

Charge your battery regularly and I am sure you will need to use the scooter to go for grocery shopping or for some work or the other daily. You must have wanted to save on your electric bills but in turn damaged the battery.

After Mr. Modi came to power in 2014 the prices of Petrol Diesel and gas have risen from 1.5 to 2 times till now. The price of domestic gas cylinder has risen from ₹ 300 to ₹850.
Where is all this money going ?
Modi did not think of repaying the debts of Oil Bonds from this income and went on distributing the money during his foreign tours to make his name big.
To day he is putting the noose of debts of Oil Bonds around the neck of Indian Citizens to justify the enormous burden of price rise of petroleum products on the Indian Population.

Actually, the OIL Bonds can be recalled and paid-up fully, 1.4 out of 3 lakhs. Still, there is a surplus of 1.6. the fuel prices can be slashed down by 30% or more. Still, the govt would be in profit.

The BJP blames Congress for all the problems facing India today. Do you know why they never blame the British Government which ruled India for 89 years before Independence? The answer is because they supported the British while the rest of India was fighting for Independence. What this man not telling is that in real terms the price of petrol is cheaper than other commodities. The petrol is used by he rich people and they can afford it. The oil price in India is cheapest in the world among the non oil producing countries. Also, oil price is fixed by the oil producing countries so beyond the control of the Indian Govt. Indians were spoiled by cheap oil subsidies by the UPA Govt. Only, rich people were benefitted by the subsidies buying fuel guzzling SUVs.

How would it amount to keeping price under control by issuing bonds -- are you pretending that bonds are free? No, bonds have a CO$T, and we're now seeing that cost. UPA govt's moves were not for free - deferring price hike using bonds didn't make the hike go away, it just made it happen later.
