As a fellow Ardennes horse owner i can guarantee great courage for this breed. Ive had my stallion Avalon (Strawberry Roan) for a few months now and theyre truly (in my opinion) the bravest horses in the game. When it came to aligators he would not bat an eye like the horse in the video, but with panthers it is a bit more complex then that. After some testing i came to the conclusion that if a predator, let it be bear or cougar, is directly charging at you full speed, it will catch any horse off guard and buck you off immediately. However, if the cougar is slowly approaching the horse (which is constantly being calmed down by the rider) it will actually keep you in the saddle for as long as you like, with the panther stalking at its feet, giving you plenty of opportunity to make your fatal shot.

@@zerogtoxik6020 I just kept doing blood money or free roam missions (it depends on your character’s honor) as well as the story missions in yellow until I got enough gold bars (usually 15) and became a trader you get good money from roles as well as xp and every 5 levels you unlock a treasure map that gives you really decent money and gold bars
Even though it’s not the fastest of all horses, it’s my most reliable in terms of overall temperament. At level 4, it literally outshines all of my rank 20 role horses (even the Steel Grey Breton), Black Arabian, Black Chestnut Thoroughbred (which surprisingly for being a race horse does well in gun battle/hunting), and 2 of my male/female Black Turkomans during combat and animal encounters as well. Alligators? No problem stomps on them. Grizzlies? Gives me ample time for multiple clear shots at pistol-repeater distance without budging. Now with cougars, as long as the cougar isn’t running at full speed and I’m constantly tapping L3, we’re good. Conclusively, the Strawberry Roan has been my main horse because of its reliability. Its really underrated underused horse I don't see many people riding it but its a very good horse in general, thank you for the review man :)

I just bought the cheaper one tonight to see if I want to invest in the 18 gold one. I have a Breton, Black Arabian, Gypsy Cob, Norfolk Roadster, and a Shire, which I love. I bonded quickly with it and quite enjoy the $150.00 Ardennes (sp?). It’s a good horse and I may go ahead and get the 18g horse.

It hold up well against predators...I've only been bucked by my strawberry roan at level four..over a snapping gator....use slow and steady and you wont even get bucked from an Arabian

I use this horse. You can run in place where 20 npc shooting at you and Ardennes won’t even blink, if loses his health he just collapse lol.
