I am also as much a Nokia smartphone (especially windows) fan as you.. i had a little bit of collection too.. namely Lumia 520,730 and 930.. but unfortunately I lost them all..I didn't know that last Nokia phone that I had was going to be the last Nokia windows phone i'll own 😢.. I really want one of those still, but can't get them anymore..so i I am now using a Nokia 7.1 Android
I had a Nokia lumia 610, it was the first phone I bought myself and I loved it. Even when I bought a new phone I still used it. Sadly I lost it in a public transport. Watching this I am feeling nostalgic for Nokia. I used to love their designs and Sony Ericsson. These two companies made some very unique and great phones. Their phones had great character. Also I really wanted to own a N9 and lumia 1020 when they came out, but couldn't.

Interestingly the most negative reaction online to this I've seen is on forums with Windows Phone fans or jaded Nokia fans. Either they want it running Windows (just useless as a pocketable device without apps) or they plain don't like Microsoft. Though lots of Nokia fans should be happy with Android now with HMD on it! 😂 I for one am excited for Microsoft to finally deliver on this long term vision going back to Courier and can't wait for more devices of the same. Long while ago I was speaking to HMD and heard that they too of course experiment with these different form factors. Here's hoping!
Wow...some time last year I saw a cellphone shop that has lumias in display but they refuse selling it due to battery charging issue. It might be due to long time of being not recharged
N7 with Symbian was an absolute car crash, the specs were good at the time but the operating system was horrible. It felt like you were cracking into a computer every time you performed any action.

Search "Nokia 6.1 Plus charging problem" you'll know. And not only this one, this problem exists in most of the 2018 nokia phones. I am a Nokia 6.1 Plus user, I am facing the problem, so I know that. And speaking of camera, you are gonna get good photos only when : 1. You have ziess lenses on you phone's camera. (Which are obviously expensive phones) Or 2. If you've installed GCam on your phone. Otherwise, goodluck! Windows phones had a great camera back then. Now Nokia's Android phones are just rubbish, video capturing is also not good. But if you capture on a low end windows phone you'd get a very nice video.

Nokia design peaked with lumia 800-925 models imo. When microsoft took over also design changed to look more cheap in my opinion. I miss windows phone😔 I would still use my Lumia 925 if only it had necessary apps like whatsapp
Basically it feels very dull and boring to use iphone and Android after living with Lumia Phones . Nokia set the bar so high with their design and polycarbonate build quality that even today's flagship with glass build can't match the Nokia Lumia feel .

I enjoyed your video. I also love old nokia smartphones and wants to use. I am not app junkie. For me browsing and watching videos are enough. On this basis i can live with any older nokia phone. But the problem is communications. Nowadays most of people communicate with WhatsApp. WhatsApp is just like compulsion for me otherwise i wish to ditch it. But again i have seen WhatsApp web is accessible on smartphones through chrome, safari, opera and firefox. If i could access WhatsApp web from my lumia or n9 mobile, damm sure i will ditch my android phone. Pls checked out & let us know is it possible?
Thank you Khalid. I don't think whatsapp web works on the old phones. On the N9 it doesn't for sure. On the Lumias, I will try and let you know. But im sure you won't be able to recieve notifications on a timely manner due to the nature of windows phone and background tasks.
Come on nokia 808 sensor is more true to live lol) and its bigger. Add image stabilizer, fast autofocus, enhance pics in low light and its gonna be best of best cameraphone!
I don't know but I don't think so. It's not easy repairing charging ports so it might be better/cheaper to buy a new or refurbished one from Ebay if you wanna use it.

I love the trip down memory lane! If all the apps I used had not been disabled, and it didn't eat batteries like candy, I would still use my Lumia 950. WP10 is still a better experience than Android. I really wanted the 930 but it didn't have glance screen which is still a missing feature on most phones, having your next calendar appointment just be there was great.
This was the video I was waiting for years since Nokia stopped making Lumia phones. I was always a fan of Nokia Lumia Brand... It was too cool but people were blind sheep behind apple and androids. I wish If today we had third ecosystem... I had to shift to android after WindowsPhone was no more supported by market... But it feels very dull to use androids after using Lumias .
I have N8, the green one too, i like the design, build quality, and of course the camera. I like the N9 too but Meego ecosystem is sucks, even symbian has better ecosystem, in 2021 u can still find ton of apps and games for symbian series, that's why i didn't buy N9, even the OS looks very cool without any lag. It's the worst decision Nokia didn't continue their Meego OS and move to Windows Phone. And Lumias, i like the design, hardware quality but the OS is terrible, i had bad experience using Windows Phone and Window 10 Mobile, the store is joke, even Ovi Store still better than Microsoft store, don't even think compare to iOS and Android store. And now HMD global sold the Nokia smartphone overprice and the price of their feature phone is too high. What the hell is HMD thinking by selling their phone at that price

The Lumia 950 has no place in a Nokia video. It was a product of Microsoft, made using discarded Nokia designs :P I still don't like the design of the Nokia 925. The camera pimple looked awful and they removed wireless charging, forcing you to buy an extra cover to put it back...which added bulk to the phone, made it pretty much as tick as the Nokia 920 but a lot less comfortable to hold. The same for the Nokia 909 which, to me, had to live in the wireless charging case. And to this day I would have rather they skipped the massive camera bump, made it thicker and, again, kept the wireless charging built in. I really liked the design of the Nokia 930, specially the Gold version of it. I'd really like to see a version of it with non-pure Android and with the planned but later axed microSD slot back in. I would also add an honourable mention to the Nokia 620. It was a great little low end phone. My experience with HMD started with the HMD 3, an absolutely garbage phone (and the first and only phone I ever returned). Then I got the HMD 5 and HMD 8. Both share the same awful software so I stopped bothering. I got to test the 8S, the 9P and most of HMD's phones since the 8 but I'll be dead before I ever buy one of them again. They're all garbage, specially compared to the likes of the Nokia 909, 920 and 930.
The 950 is a hook to catch you in my comments section DBS :p Nokia could have added wireless charging to the 925 and 1020 without a case. I guess it was a cost cutting measure. The 930 is peak minimalism. Perfect from every angle. I had the 620 as well, but windows phone 8 had a lot of bugs on low end hardware.
@@AbdullaZaki Ahahahah if I wanted to make it any sort of a challenge, I wouldn't use the same logo everywhere or the initials of my name ;P It wasn't so much to cut cost but to cave into the "make it thinner" mantra that was very popular back then. Hmm, curious, I never saw any hiccups on the 620. Granted, I didn't use it as a daily driver...
Nokia also make good dumb phones in 2021 though the camera quality isn't as good as some of the other smart phones out there. But its an alternative if you only just want a phone to make calls and text and don't care for distractions

Thank you Khalid. I don't think whatsapp web works on the old phones. On the N9 it doesn't for sure. On the Lumias, I will try and let you know. But im sure you won't be able to recieve notifications on a timely manner due to the nature of windows phone and background tasks.

Are there still cell phone repair places where one can get parts and repairs done on Lumia 920 phones ? Mine might need a port. It won't charge.
I don't know but I don't think so. It's not easy repairing charging ports so it might be better/cheaper to buy a new or refurbished one from Ebay if you wanna use it.

You can still wirelessly charge it then transfer the photos. One of the hidden benefits of wireless charging :)
@@AbdullaZaki I once tried to wireless charge it but it didn't charge. Does a wireless charger still charge a phone if the battery is dead ? Or does the battery have to be partly charged in order for the wireless charger to work?

I love the trip down memory lane! If all the apps I used had not been disabled, and it didn't eat batteries like candy, I would still use my Lumia 950. WP10 is still a better experience than Android. I really wanted the 930 but it didn't have glance screen which is still a missing feature on most phones, having your next calendar appointment just be there was great.

This was the video I was waiting for years since Nokia stopped making Lumia phones. I was always a fan of Nokia Lumia Brand... It was too cool but people were blind sheep behind apple and androids. I wish If today we had third ecosystem... I had to shift to android after WindowsPhone was no more supported by market... But it feels very dull to use androids after using Lumias .
We have to adapt unfortunately. Was very difficult moving to android after so many windows phones. Now it feels okay. Dull as you say
I have N8, the green one too, i like the design, build quality, and of course the camera. I like the N9 too but Meego ecosystem is sucks, even symbian has better ecosystem, in 2021 u can still find ton of apps and games for symbian series, that's why i didn't buy N9, even the OS looks very cool without any lag. It's the worst decision Nokia didn't continue their Meego OS and move to Windows Phone. And Lumias, i like the design, hardware quality but the OS is terrible, i had bad experience using Windows Phone and Window 10 Mobile, the store is joke, even Ovi Store still better than Microsoft store, don't even think compare to iOS and Android store. And now HMD global sold the Nokia smartphone overprice and the price of their feature phone is too high. What the hell is HMD thinking by selling their phone at that price

The Lumia 950 has no place in a Nokia video. It was a product of Microsoft, made using discarded Nokia designs :P
I still don't like the design of the Nokia 925. The camera pimple looked awful and they removed wireless charging, forcing you to buy an extra cover to put it back...which added bulk to the phone, made it pretty much as tick as the Nokia 920 but a lot less comfortable to hold.
The same for the Nokia 909 which, to me, had to live in the wireless charging case. And to this day I would have rather they skipped the massive camera bump, made it thicker and, again, kept the wireless charging built in.
I really liked the design of the Nokia 930, specially the Gold version of it. I'd really like to see a version of it with non-pure Android and with the planned but later axed microSD slot back in.
I would also add an honourable mention to the Nokia 620. It was a great little low end phone.
My experience with HMD started with the HMD 3, an absolutely garbage phone (and the first and only phone I ever returned). Then I got the HMD 5 and HMD 8. Both share the same awful software so I stopped bothering. I got to test the 8S, the 9P and most of HMD's phones since the 8 but I'll be dead before I ever buy one of them again. They're all garbage, specially compared to the likes of the Nokia 909, 920 and 930.

Nokia could have added wireless charging to the 925 and 1020 without a case. I guess it was a cost cutting measure.
The 930 is peak minimalism. Perfect from every angle.
I had the 620 as well, but windows phone 8 had a lot of bugs on low end hardware.

It wasn't so much to cut cost but to cave into the "make it thinner" mantra that was very popular back then.
Hmm, curious, I never saw any hiccups on the 620. Granted, I didn't use it as a daily driver...
Nokia also make good dumb phones in 2021 though the camera quality isn't as good as some of the other smart phones out there. But its an alternative if you only just want a phone to make calls and text and don't care for distractions

Regardless of Nokia's innovation, people still rushed out to buy mediocre and over priced Iphones. Sad.
HMD GLOBAL has no idea how to copy a Nokia hardware like those from lumia and before, sadly , today's "Nokia" name is used very badly..
