Just found your videos and love them!
My step dad built one out of an old bath tub. This was his first of several he had. Thank you for sharing. 🇨🇦😎
I used an old 500ltr black plastic water tank from my attic. It's sunk halfway into the bank behind my plot. Any time I have a barrow of rough soils & stones, they get dumped against the exposed side of the tank. I had two goldfish in there just to get it up and running, but it's also beside a river with a lot of hungry herons.
With no leaves on the trees, I think they must have spotted the pond. There is at least one adult frog has moved in since then. So have added more dead branches for if to rest on in there. It's going to mean adding more concrete blocks if I want a shelf or two.
Thanks, I enjoyed your video, but what about mosquito larvae? It' s a real problem with standing water. The water movement from a water pump helps circulate water and discourages mosquitos.
Add a gold fish and don't feed it.
Could you please make a video on plants to place in and around your ponds??? I have a pond on my property, but it is over run with trees, vines, and just awful weeds. I cut them back this year, but I really want to start replacing natural pond plants versus the yucky invasive weeds. Even a book suggestion for pond plants would be very appreciated!!! New subscriber, I'm truly enjoying all the wonderful information you have. Thanks for such beautiful videos!
I'll think about it. Around the pond is just like any other garden - you can plant anything.
Thank You. Just would like to know if you have a video regarding creating a natural pond without any of that plastic liner being placed. Thank You, sir. :3
No, my soil is too sandy. But, there ar plenty of people who do that in our Facebook Group, called Building Natural Ponds.

@@Gardenfundamentals1 I'll make sure to check it out thank you ^_^
What should be done in the winter? Can they be left full of water?
Depends on what you have in it, the depth and location.
