In India conditions where regular fan blades get dirty in couple of weeks and require cleaning , I have following questions. 1. How to clean this fan 2. As per the air circulation shown in video , will it not do accumulation of dirt on ceiling which in my view will be a very difficult task to keep clean
I have one. Don't waste your money. It doesn't move much air and you'll be much happier with a traditional fan. Also, read the reviews of this company at the BBB website.
While bladed fans produce a turbulent airflow and rely on brute force to mix the air. The Exhale fan has a smooth uniform rotating airflow that creates a gentle vortex to evenly homogenize and stabilize the air.
I think its amazing what people come up with by applying the concepts that the great minds of our past developed. By the way... just looked at their website, it had this little diddy, "Studying the science surrounding Nikola Tesla's bladeless turbines led me to a breakthrough that I knew was the perfect solution to the problem that was plaguing my thoughts." I guess Tesla does get his credit, which is a rarity.
Full speed CFM is 3,186 at 34 watts (93.7 CFM/watt). Is also comes with a 6 speed wireless remote to dial in your preferred airflow. It is effective in rooms up to 20'x20'.
I am looking for 1 or 2 nice ceiling fans with no blades. Is it effective for a room with 2 story high ceiling? Will it work well with 2 Exhale fans side by side (like an infinity sign) for a longer room?
NO. The discs are slinging air out with centrifugal force. If you put a ball on a string and spin it around the ball stretches the string no matter which way you spin it. i would like to see a tower fan made to mount horizontally on the ceiling. In other words take a regular tower fan. Tip it over 90 degrees to lay on the floor. Now lift it up to the ceiling and mount it. It would probably take some slight redesign of the tower fan. Though not much. It could be about 3 to 5 feet long. It would pump a great deal of air down. Tower fans are very efficient and quiet. And the big advantage is if you inadvertently stuck your hand up in the air it wouldn't get chopped off like with a conventional ceiling fan. So it would be safe for low ceilings. Imagine a 2 foot square box about 4 inches deep. And it contains perhaps four tower fans. And of course around the edges of the box, LED lighting. It could put out a lot of air. And it would be safe in a kids room. It would be cheap.
Where in a store or home stores can I see this working? I bought a new home in SC and it has lights. I just need a fan and this looks like it would be awesome with my tey ceiling. You won’t notice it but be cool at night
If you like cleaning ceiling fans you'll love this because the dust on surface area is 5 to 10 fold depending on how many spining blades there are. I'm estimating 5 to 10 ?
Ceiling fans use between 12-120 watts running at high speed. The Exhale fan uses a high efficiency DC motor (34 watts at high speed) Fan #1 - Super Efficient Ceiling Fan at 12 Watts = $12.61 per year Fan #2 - Average Ceiling Fan at 60 Watts = $63.07 per year Fan #3 - More Powerful Ceiling Fan at 120 Watts = $126.14 per year -Opperational costs referenced from Hansen Wholesale - cost_to_opperate
um.. won't that thing be a hassle to clean. seems like harder work than cleaning a regular ceiling fan. Even if it's efficient and uses new technology, the fan still has to be home friendly i.e easy to clean and safe.
peterpiperdiedharper It’s idiots like you who will forgo the technological advance mess of this device only two compare it to how easy it is to clean it, when you probably have never cleaned your own fucking fans in years!
I see 2 things missing.. The fan isn't reverseable for downdraft, and only operates like a standard ceiling fan stuck on updraft. And there is no light kit, meaning we would have to use table lamps, tall lamps, or some other form of lighting.
Dust will collect on the leading edge of any fan over time. Using the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner is the easiest way to remove this buildup, but it can be wiped clean with a soft cloth as well.
What is the space between the discs? would it allow easy cleaning with the vacuum brush head? Are the discs sturdy? Meaning they won't be affected (bent) by either cleaning process?
Their product is inferior. It took 8 months for mine to arrive and it's basically a piece of crap. Please read the reviews at BBB. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
Although it doesn't look like a bladed ceiling fan it does still have blades, they're just circular discs. The type of blade is unique and less noisy but the basic mechanics are the same as a conventional fan, that is spinning something to move air, so I cannot see how the $500+ price is justified... plus there's no option for a light.
Brad K nothing of this fan moves outside of its case. You talk about blades when the idea is how it moves the air differently than other fans which only forced to around the room making you think that you’re being called. The reason they say that the van has no blades is because of fans other than this tape come with blades which only push air around. This fanUses a technique which draws the air into it and then it moves the van along the ceiling down towards the walls which actually calls the fan runs a lot better than typical Fans which only give you the illusion of coolness by forcing air around you.
My logic says, being a vulcan, this fan will take all the dust in the room and get it in circulation as shown on your vortex demonstration videos. I like the idea, but it seem this machine is a dust spreader. How do you answer to that?
We are currently funding our project at Indiegogo, a popular crowd-funding website. Although the tooling is nearing completion, we are using the funds from Indiegogo to purchase raw materials to start manufacturing in Q1 2013.
Is it compatible with google home and alexa, if not it's not something I want to pay $600+ for. It's an awesome fan, love the design, but I don't want a fan where I can't change the LED out and isn't compatible with home automation software. I don't want a remote, I want to use my phone to turn it on/off, speed it up/down, etc. I want to be able to program it to my wireless google home switches etc etc.
The Exhale fan does not use a squirrel cage blower or any type of blade. The discs are the only thing moving the air. If you put a drop of water on a plate and spun the plate, the drop of water would fly off the edge. The same is true for the Exhale, air molecules stick to the surface of the discs and when spun they fly off the edge. There are very small spacers used to separate the discs, but they are round and do not add to the airflow. We would be very happy to ship to South Korea.
The fan generates a smooth gentle airflow and will not negatively affect the ceiling. The Exhale does not move air any faster than a traditional ceiling fan, it simply creates a vortex airflow profile to more effectively mix the air and stabilize temperature. See our other video for a vortex flow demonstration.
Why is this so expensive? It seems like its juts a spinning discs with a motor attached with a controller. I understand that R&D is expansive but if you lowered your price to 200 to 300 you would probably sell more units and make back your R&D costs faster.
Micim987 Original The reason the price is so expensive is to compensate for the research and development put into it to produce these fans. It’s funny how ignorant people like you always think that someone who invents or Designs something can just drop the price as if the price has nothing to do with them recouping their investments. That’s how dumb people think and they are also the ones to think that money grows on trees. Stick to your old regular ass fans and leave these people alone because it’s not for people like you to have something as advanced as this idea is.
@@Clankillas As an inventor, I was gong to explain how inventions and economics work, but I'd have to start at zero to explain that to you. So I wont bother. The OP has a valid point.
I need that in my kitchen. I’ll toss the vegetables in the air & have instant salad. The LUMIO Bladeless Ceiling Fan might be a better alternative with light. EBay is selling them for &198 free shipping. I would want a 2 direction fan.

Bring in a garden hose and spray it while it's running.
Exactly my thought!
Good question
What if you have sloped ceilings
Where are you guys in Chennai? Looking forward to buy this
WHAT is the Advantage to this design? What is the CFM and sound level at any particular CFM movement of air?
I have one. Don't waste your money. It doesn't move much air and you'll be much happier with a traditional fan. Also, read the reviews of this company at the BBB website.
is it true that you can only mount this fan on a flat ceiling? and does it come with light?

How does the blades float in the air? Are there magnets? or some invisible support I cannot see?
so is it making any noise? do you got audio samples while its running or at least some db figures
is it really strong? i need lot of ventilation
Never seen one in action - but - as an apartment dweller this looks really good for small rooms and low ceilings.
1. Does it pull air in from the side and push it down?
2. Why is it so small?

Have a website to order ?
Are these fans on the market now ? Where can I purchase it ?
Is it hard to clean the fan?
Have you guys thought of creating one with a light?
I wonder if this is sold in Africa/Nigeria and if it will work perfectly with our weather.

I didn't know that Ron Thomas from Matchbox 20 had started making ceiling fans. Good for him.
Was thinking blink 182 lol
You took an automotive squirrel cage and made it into a house fan... lol
how do you clean it?
wouldn't this push hot air throughout the room? this would be great for winter, but what about summer?
Hey are these going to be available in Australia?
+Glenn Jordan Yes! I want TWO (x2)! But, I love in Sydney, Australia.
We'd be interested too. We're in NSW.

It already operates in winter mode: pulling air upward.
It pushes the air to the side of the wall, which is the same for regular ceiling fans on updraft.
Where can I buy the Dust cover?
Need to watch and know the function of the product more than you speaking thanks very cool fan
What are the dimensions and how much does it cool a room?
You should throw flour into the fan so we can get a different perspective of how the air moves.

why not use a radial airflow fan instead

A 5 second google search would tell you that airflow is less turbulent, thus energy efficiency and airflow speed should be better.
basically a centrifugal pump for air isn't it
