When you have other feelings for the person, don't play the nice guy and pretend you have the same feelings. You'll just hurt your friend and yourself. Yes, this might seem cruel, but imagine one of your closest friends feelings love toward you, but you don't. Would you lie to her and say "I love you, too." carrying on a relationship that's bound to fail or would you rather tell her the truth and trying to keep the friendship? Once you go down the "friends turned lovers" route, you can't go back. I'm sorry to everyone who's felt that way, but this is just from my point of view. I don't want to hurt any of the people who have feelings I don't return, but it just happens. That's how this friend zone thing happened. We don't mean to hurt you guys and we're sorry! We truly are. But it's better than carrying on something fake and useless that'll just end up hurting you even more. These things happen. We're so very sorry, but we can't control our feelings. Question though; around the end the lyrics tells me that the guy ends up being worried about her relationship with the guy who treats her horribly and she says he's jealous because he's in the friendzone. Things like that is what makes relationships even more complicated and stuff like that. The guy that was put away sees how the guy hurts her, but the girl loves the douche too much to stay away. Arianna Arcenas In my opnion, I don't think that the problem lies in the fact that someone has stronger feelings.. or whatever.. different people got different mindsets. I think that the real problem lies within the fact that the part which "friendzoned" the other one keeps leeching on the person's feelings... I can't see it in any other way. Someone that prefers to stay with someone else but keeps calling, whining, etc, etc, to the "friend(zone'd one)". Huge bullshit right there... I never got friendzone'd but I know people who did, great friends... I like "observing" people's actions towards the others and stuff, so I'm (almost) 100% certain that it's pure selfish bullshit.. (through friends experience).
Plus, I'm pretty sure that it hurts them just as much when the person they care about so much calls, contacts, them crying, sad, etc, etc. Now THAT I can relate to. It hurts just as much when the person you love is having a hard time. People that "friendzone'd" someone do that... a lot ... Can tell you that much. I don't see how you can call that person a friend when they seek you in their time of need. A friend isn't someone you seek whenever you're down, of course you hope you can count on that person when such times come, but a friend is someone you share joyful moments, make memories, laugh, cry, etc... If someone needs a person just to whine and shit, then look for a shrink or something...

The main point I was trying to get across is that everyone looks at the victim, but not the cause. They think the cause is some cold-hearted freak that prefers douchebags over nice guys. But that's not true. It's just that, I don't like them. I don't want to hurt the others, but it's just how I feel.
