Excellent videos! Love the halogens here, and at all the crossings on the Marston Vale line - somewhere I hope to visit before the Summer! That 230 looks really good, and it looks like you enjoyed meeting with Jarton! Another thing: I've heard that Lincoln Level Crossing is being permanently closed in May of this year! April Fools (LOL) It isn't really!
Thank you! I spent a very pleasant weekend filming all these crossings. Most of them share similar characteristics with the dates of the lights and barriers. And yeah, I always like meeting different rail enthusiasts. There's no fooling me about my favourite crossing in Lincoln haha 😃
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel This may need a bit of clarity, but I think DP was on about me thinking about visiting Lincoln L/C (something that will happen imminently), so he was warning me about Foobe.
I was up here a month or so ago on a trip to Bedford. Was on a 150 going there, a 153 coming back and saw a 230 at Bedford where I met another rail enthusiast and we chatted a bit about the passing of the HSTs and other things. It’s a quaint little line and I would like to return at some point.
It will be nice to have the 230s - that is, unless they turn out to be horribly unreliable! The 153s are funny little things so I shall miss them when they go. Maybe in a month or two I'll take a trip up to St. Albans on the Abbey line to catch a 319, as it's something I've been meaning to do for a while. The Braintree branch line has also caught my eye so we'll see about that one as well.
Cool. We'll have to see how the 230s will run but they've been running this line on test for a while now. I've filmed on the Braintree Branch line too 😎
Nice video! I am surprised you didn't film at Aspley Guise (least used station in Bedfordshire). Class 230 are made from old underground stock (I think).
Thank you! 😎 I've actually filmed every crossing on the Marston Vale Like including at Aspley Guise. I hold back videos and upload them on different dates. You'll see more videos from the Marston vale line over time 😎
Not a "battery train". The Class 230s between Bedford and Bletchley in LNWR service are DEMUs (Diesel Electric Multiple Units). 230002 is Vivarails battery variant.
Thanks 👍 I've found out that the handful of 230 units are either a diesel electric multiple unit or battery EMU depending on configuration. I believe 230001 is a DEMU and 230002 is a BEMU (battery electric)
Lovely little LC. 👌📹🎬
Yeah, I like this one 😎👍
Nice shots !
Thank you! 😎👍
Great video and fantastic job
Thank you! 😎
Amazing Railroad crossing and super video.

Why would he be a problem if he barely travels outside of Lincoln, let alone reaching Buckinghamshire or Essex.

@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Oh I see, I know what you mean now. Well, me and Joe didn't encounter him thankfully so you probably won't either.
Two closures with two different types of pasenger trains. Good shot with the 153 at the end!
- James 😀
Thanks 😎😄
You are most welcome
Great video
Thank you 👍
Great video and crossing!

The 230s should start running on the line soon hopefully. It is a nice little line. Most of the stations in quite peaceful locations.

Nice catch with the 230

Nice halogens 😎👍🏼

You dont see many halogens that much, the wigwags look pristine!
The halogens are a few years old now and still look good for their age. Glad the whole line still has halogens 👍
The class 230 isnt just operated by a battery, its called the battery train
Ah yeah. Its an old description I typed so I needed to change it but forgot about it. I'll change it slightly.
Old D stock tube train
Great vid -how did you know that this particular 230 unit was battery-powered and not diesel?

@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Yeah, I thought so as this clip shows 230005 and I could definitely hear a diesel generator running on it!
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel I think literally every 230 apart from unit 002 is a DEMU. I think that unit is the exception.
Ah right - it's still quite an interesting unit though 😎
Heck u got me lol
Lol 😎
Nice
Thanks 😎👍

Don't worry, I've filmed at aspley guise too 😉
