Interesting to see so many negative comments about the color selection and whether this style is called this thing versus the other. First, I appreciate that you are building "outside the box" with this makeover. To me it's interesting to see different styles, color schemes, etc. I think that these videos can help anyone learn from your builds (I think that's the point). Second, I can appreciate the work it takes to begin the build, continue the build, FINISH the build, AND THEN put out a video! Whew! Lastly, regardless of personal preferences to style, color, method or process, and all else entailed with these builds, something can be learned to help a DYIer embark on a small or even large project thanks to your content. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the next installment. Take care and have a good one :D
I like how the board and batten accent gives it some character, but I don't know about that color green. Next time the wife is out for the day you need to change that 😬
Love the craftsmanship, creativity and hardwork you've been putting on this whole series, along with your whole channel! However, the color choices you've selected over these past 2 videos has really altered your final product. I feel like painting only the boards and leaving the wall white would've provided a better contrast and over all look. The green and the orange doors from the previous video really don't match well with the design of the house. However, overall you've done a tremendous job and if you like it, that's that!
Hey Alex, I love the channel and every video! I learned from the channel Perkins Builder Brothers that Windex works better than water for calk lines just a tip i figured id share :) I can't wait to see the rest of the house!!! I love the bonus room upgrades!
First started following your channel going back to your laundry room renovation about ~2 years ago. Recently, I've thought your videos have lost the 'how-to' aspect and have focused more on sheer entertainment value. This got back to the older style videos, in a good way. big fan
It’s looks good I feel like you could have went higher with the board and batten to accentuate the height of the space since you have such tall ceilings
Haha, you are both right. My process is ask my wife, but then slightly adjust her idea... if i do it all myself it looks like a colorblind homeless man designed the room
Everyones complaining about the color, but I think it's absolutely gorgeous! I would just change the boob light on the ceiling, and custom color all of your switch plates etc. to blend into the wall.
Really loved how it turned out irena has a great eye! Couldnt help but notice you spray the glue with the activator and not where the piece is going. Will def get a better stick that way.
Looks great! In the high end decorative finishing world, those outlet & switch covers + vents would definitely get painted. What type of flooring do you have?
Hi! brand new home owner here. we have floorboard heaters, is it possible for us to create the Board and Batten accent wall without removing the baseboards? thanks :)
Oddly enough, I tried hunting down some basic brass switch plates for my black rocker switches (same as he has in that room, just black) and you would not believe how difficult a basic, single gang, brass switch plate is to find. Leviton makes the cheapest and most simple one out there, but it’s not stocked in any physical location that I can find, costs upwards of $5 for a single gang plate, and to top it all off? They don’t even make brass switch plates that are more complex than the simple single gang plate anyway. Even called Leviton and asked if they had any, or if their website is just bugged. Nope. They straight up only make single gang, rocker switch style, brass switch plates.
Alot of home builders in the United States have them in their different models. Personally I don't understand why they do that at all, I think maybe 20% of the time it gets used for that purpose.
@@tophersmith3982 I'm not anywhere close to six figures, and houses we could afford to buy had them. We chose to pick a house without, but they're a common thing at any budget. It'll depend on size with how much dough you got. I agree though, that would be another bedroom for my family.
@@WickedWayz81 must be common in other parts of the country lol we were searching for a house for over a year and if there were once houses with more than one living room at our price point in our area, they've all been converted 😂 I think we saw maybe a couple houses with more than one living room, but those houses around here are well above our price point. Of course, our price point was under 200k haha
@@tophersmith3982 Our price range was the same, under 200k. We seen a few that were converted as well, but most were not. Didn't matter the year the house was built, certain styles were the same. Maybe it could be more of a midwest thing, I'm in Wisconsin. Where about are you?
Another cool video. I'm not a fan of colored ceilings, though. It seems like the room might be too dark at night. But, it's your house and your man cave, so keep doing you.
I feel that the vent covers, button panels etc would make the room look better if they were of brass color. Though the room is already really good as it is ;)
1. two-tone looks better if you have that wall texture 2. you gotta prime the euca board 3. the color scheme was a lot better before, now it looks tacky 4. the plates and the vents should really color match I wonder how @Finish Carpentry TV would react to this.
Love... love it!!! What paint sprayer do you use? I bought the flexio 5000 but can't seem to get the paint to spray on smoothly. Your videos are great. Can't wait till the next one comes out.
Once again you nailed it with this one. Just curious, is there any reason why you chose the euca board instead of MDF or any other material? Also did you paint the ceiling the same color as the walls?
How many issues have you had with Overspray using that kind of paint sprayer? I've used an HVLP for a long long time, but the overspray is just a HUGE issue for me.
Hey brother! Could u help me design my room. I basically live in a living room and i'm trying to build something maybe a closet or maybe not and I'm not sure how to design it could i possibly send you pictures of my room for help if its not too much of a hassle thanks!.
I said it on a previous video and I'll say it again, the best part of your videos is you recognize and call out your errors. Makes you very authentic.
Same!!

Loove the end result! That dark green gives such a moody effect, perfect for a game room / man cave!

Love the color, board and baton gorgeous! I’d switch every white outlets x switches to brass or black. And the window trim black. Great job!
What an epic way to put Flex Glue MAX to work! We can't wait to see what's next. 😎💪
I like how the board and batten accent gives it some character, but I don't know about that color green. Next time the wife is out for the day you need to change that 😬
I think it's just too much green. The whole wall painted the same as the wainscoting is a lot.
For home theaters, dark colors work as they don't reflect the light from the TV. however I agree the green color is a little odd
Paint the vents green and get dark outlets/switches/plates 👍🏻
Looks great! So helpful that you showed the mistakes and how to problem solve them. Also love the vibe that dark moody color created in the room
the beauty of D.I.Y. is you don't make mistakes, your work evolves LOL
100% true
I actually like the color. It’s that classic Billiards Room vibe. For a Man Cave / Game room it’s perfect
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Looking awesome, your work is super impressive. Stay Hydrated & Cool this summer... Abrazos
Thats awesome! I think the color is pretty cool and unique!
Wow spray paint machines work so beautifully! It is awesome to watch this come together! What a beautiful paint choice!
💖💖💖💖💖that was wonderfully done, good job !👍🏻👍🏻
Obsessed with the paneling and the colour choice wow
Love the rich color! I like how everything is coming together. I can picture it now with wall art and furnishings.
This color looks really good
YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION, THANK YOU ALEX
Absolutely beautiful
Would change the switches, outlets, and vents to a dark color
or paint them with that green color

Funny you said 4x4 mode on the crocs! I tell my daughters when the strap is up it’s in relax/sleep mode & when the strap is down it’s sport mode! Lmao
Looks amazing! Love the green!
Nice looks good
As always, great videos
Nice! 👌 Looking forward to seeing the rest of your plans for this room come together 😁👍
Them 4x4 bad boys really do set the tone!!😂👌🏻

Looks great.l! Who does the filming while u do all the carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring etc work?
Paint color is questionable but to each their own. Looks great!
Ha haha thought the same thing 🤣
I think it would look good with green on bottom and white or off white on top
Agree. The room looks much smaller with that green.
@@stevemoskowitz5960 I was thinking the opposite. White on the bottom and the green on top. Your way would look decent too
what brand of paint sprayer did you use?
Can you make it without baking board, when you have perfect drywall?
Haha when in doubt, add more layers “cakes have layers, everybody loves cakes!” Lol turned out great man, way to see it through 💪🏾💯
Hahah
*Magnifique réalisation👍*
Vids out for 35 mins, and Surely want to watch it asap✌🏻

I love the paint color but I think you should change out the vents and electric faceplates you a darker color so they don’t stick out so much
wait did they buy this house and it's there new home or
Why wasn't the new wall flush with the existing wall [the door walls]
Right?!
Lol
pro tip for next time, measure and cut out a spacer for in between each piece of vertical MDF, so you don't need to remeasure every time
The way I do the end of the 1x2 is coming out about 11/16ths and mitering the end to 30 degrees so it’s sort of rounded but still the farm house style
Really loved how it turned out irena has a great eye! Couldnt help but notice you spray the glue with the activator and not where the piece is going. Will def get a better stick that way.

Could you list your tools out you used in this project? I’m very interested in your paint sprayer and the tool you used to mask and tape with.
what is better? paint roller or paint spray
Beautiful work! I noticed your accent, where is it from?
The outlets and vents with gold plates would look rich, just as an idea. More cost but, hey.
Not really.. $5 spray paint 🤣
or silver?
