I am a single woman living on her own and I decorate every year. I decorate for myself because I love it and love the Christmas feeling. I also have lots of little traditions and rituals to celebrate throughout the month. I do spend lots of time with family and friends as well but I realized long ago that there are lots of little joys to be found just for yourself. I hope your Christmas season is filled with lots of those little joys.

I decorated my flat when I lived on my own. It isn’t tragic at all. People do it all the time when they live alone. It’s more tragic to not let yourself decorate and enjoy the season. The decor always made me so happy. Allow it to make you happy too!
In case you were interested: The reason why you’d have to stay in quarantine with a temperature but not a cough is because a fever indicates an ongoing inflammatory process in the body. A cough just means irritation in the throat which can be lasting damage from the virus the week prior, but the virus has since been eliminated from the body. - From a med student!

I decorate my house every year for Christmas and I also live alone! I always have that “urgh alone again at Christmas” moment but then I just go for it, go to London to see the lights and just embrace the time ☺️🎄
I’m a bit disappointed you didn’t speak more about how people can avoid this situation - in particular paying attention to guidelines like a PCR test when symptomatic, rather than relying on lateral flow tests, masking up, etc.

My lateral flows were all negative and then went for a PCR and it confirmed positive. I work in healthcare and luckily we now do lamp testing. Hope you're feeling much better. ♥️
The quarantine is for the passing it to other people….you can detect Covid on a pcr for 3 months possibly…I tested on my 15th day to see if I could go see a broadway show and I was still detecting Covid. So it’s weird but glad you are making it thru!
That happened to my sister who lives in Belgium. She was positive and had to quarantine for 10 days and after 10 days she was free to go, she did not have to do PCR test again at all. And myself, I am in Italy you do have to do it after your quarantine but of 14 days. I am glad you feel better!! =)
I live by myself & I decorate my apartment for ANY season ☺️ I sit on my couch, look around (especially after I got motivated to clean ;) & I stare at my place SO in love ♥️

Watching this Niomi when I got my test results today with positive! It's only mild symptoms though but your videos are helping me to feel much better and hopefully I will start feeling better soon as well.
I wouldnt go away if you still have symptoms you can still give it to someone. But it’s good they tell you not to take a pcr test the blood test will probably be positive for a while because of the remains of the virus and then you have to isolate again. Hope you feel better soon

you should always def decorate if you live on your own, bring some of that outside seasonal magic inside your house even if you're on your own that's what my mom always says
There is no point in taking an LFT test if you have symptoms. If you have symptoms take a PCR test. Asymptomatic Covid is more likely to come up positive on an LFT. I had the same issue getting negative tests with symptoms. Hope that helps anyone in the same situation. Xx
I don't know why you find it tragic to be single and still decorate for Christmas. That is what everyone usually do. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I 'm not going to feel like a tragic human being for decorating, just because I'm single..

A PCR test detects the presence of the virus' RNA (genetic material). If you're recovering after being sick, RNA from broken down virus will still be present and the test will show positive regardless if you're still ill or not.

Same, it's my school holidays and Christmas, and I tested positive one day before I have a staycation. Thankfully the dates for the staycation can be moved but it sucks knowing that I'm stuck at home while everyone else is outside.

Apparently you test positive for up to 2 months, which probably means that it's possible to infect for months but procedure is to let people run loose after only a week or so. It might be minimal but technically probably can.
You aren’t infectious once out of isolation, you can text positive as COVID cells come out at different times as they break down, which is why they say don’t test
i was wondering if you could do a handbag review, while you are isolating ! I would be interested to see your style, what works, your views on designer labels and what you see is the all round bag for all seassons
Not gonna lie if you are going to be made a prisoner and confined against your will in your home, it is a pretty nice prison in which to be confined! The fresh green plants give such a fresh oxygenated feeling to your place and the white colors of your decor really help accentuate the fresh green color of the plants. There is nothing better than a fresh Christmas tree because it really helps bring nature in with the wonderful evergreen scents. I am obsessed with how much nice light comes in to your living room. I hope you get a massive collection of basil, rosemary, and dill potted plants and keep them by that large window!

I love the interesting advent calendars that you have in the U.K......another couple that I watch that are outside Brighton buy one called Advent for Change.......it’s a charity calendar and each day a donation is made to a charity or people in need....it’s just lovely.............glad you will decorate...... The loss of taste must be distressing hopefully that will recover quickly and Im really glad that youve decided to do christmas I live with my partner who is not a christmas person so all my christmas ritual I do every year is for me. I used to get sad about it but after a few years Ive come to realise it is probbly the one thing in my life that is self indulgent and Im not gonna lie I love it!

I don’t think you should take that personally. She is sharing her life and she may have less experience being on her own for a holiday. She may grow to love things about being on her own and decorating for herself. I don’t think she meant to offend just to share her firsts and how she feels. It hurts that people are hating on her. When she said that it was tragic, I immediately thought about the fact that being alone in a house makes decorations seem pointless. For example, my grandma doesn't like to put them because she literally feels that is unnecessary without her children. Maybe she just didn't wanted to buy things only for one person. We need to stop judging and be more compassionate. And for the Covid stuff, no body can judge for something literally out of your control. Even the most careful person can still get it. Happy holidays everyone and please be more kind with each other.
nothing tragic about living alone or being single. For me its a choice to live alone and be single, I have a happier more peaceful life in which I can focus on my self and my goals. A woman's worth isn't based off of whether she has a man or not. Everyone is different. Being in a relationship/getting married isn't an accomplishment, despite what society tries and brainwashes us to think. Funny how (the patriarchal society) tries to make us think if women are not associated with a man we are 'tragic'.

Oh, does this mean you caught COVID? I literally caught it at the same time! I leave my quarantine on the 14th. I also had a lot of things to do at home too. I'm sorry if you caught it, but also kind of makes me feel less alone.
Not tragic at all, like why? You decorate for yourself, not for your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife 😕 Also you should definitely take another test after the end of your quarantine, because it doesn't mean that you don't have covid if your quarantine ends.
Indeed, you dont need to keep doing pcr test as you will be positive anyway because your antibodies are high. Glad you are free now and enjoying your time! :)
IMO getting married and having kids because society told you you have to, being a conformist is 'tragic'. Striving to be a housewife dragging up kids because doing so you think is an accomplishment, is tragic. Being an independent woman, free thinker living your life how you want, following your goals, and not conforming to what society tells you to do isn't tragic. I am happier single. Plan to stay this way, Never want to settle down or have kids, want to be free, focusing on my dreams and travelling constantly experiencing new things. Those who follow the crowd never go further than the crowd.

Asymptomatic Covid is more likely to come up positive on an LFT.

It hurts that people are hating on her. When she said that it was tragic, I immediately thought about the fact that being alone in a house makes decorations seem pointless. For example, my grandma doesn't like to put them because she literally feels that is unnecessary without her children. Maybe she just didn't wanted to buy things only for one person. We need to stop judging and be more compassionate. And for the Covid stuff, no body can judge for something literally out of your control. Even the most careful person can still get it. Happy holidays everyone and please be more kind with each other.

nothing tragic about living alone or being single. For me its a choice to live alone and be single, I have a happier more peaceful life in which I can focus on my self and my goals. A woman's worth isn't based off of whether she has a man or not. Everyone is different. Being in a relationship/getting married isn't an accomplishment, despite what society tries and brainwashes us to think. Funny how (the patriarchal society) tries to make us think if women are not associated with a man we are 'tragic'.

IMO getting married and having kids because society told you you have to, being a conformist is 'tragic'. Striving to be a housewife dragging up kids because doing so you think is an accomplishment, is tragic. Being an independent woman, free thinker living your life how you want, following your goals, and not conforming to what society tells you to do isn't tragic. I am happier single. Plan to stay this way, Never want to settle down or have kids, want to be free, focusing on my dreams and travelling constantly experiencing new things. Those who follow the crowd never go further than the crowd.
