Content creators complain that they are forced to do the same thing, yet Thanovic finds a way. S tier content creator, and not just in Rocket League.
Guys keep in mind, it's not because you learned how to fast aerials that you always need to go for it. If you don't need to beat someone to the ball and can hold your flip for a powerful hit, do that instead
@@notasquared He meant that you use the 2nd flip to hit the ball for more power, not that you don't use it at all
@@nirolf12 I know that genius but I mean sometimes when I use the second flip the ball goes slower then when I just fast aerial
@@notasquared It just means you're not hitting the ball in the best spot with the best part of the car when you flip on it

Hey guys!! I’m the other editor who works on these vids with Akathy. I hope you all enjoyed 😎
- I’m also the car rockin the C9 and Complexity decal in clips 😂
I think 50s and overall challenging could go here too but a really good list
Its a true saying that "practice makes perfect" - my mechanics and ground game have become so good just by messing around in training mode (no PC unfortunately) where I now have a higher win rate. I need to now focus on my dribbling and flicking, I'm having trouble keeping the ball on top of the car at the moment and I dont understand why the ball doesn't line up for me TO flick it haha, but I'll get there.
The tip to turn your car against the ball helped me alot as a gc2 I had forgotten to do that and now im faster to the ball, thank you (:
I have been watching you and Wayton and started the game in January. Since then I got c2 with less than 500 hours. Thank you!
@@dylanplayz0968 it’s just a matter of practicing more than you play for you
@@houstoniii6841 I made it to Diamond 2 in 2s with under 150 hours. Pretty much only ever played training packs or free play while waiting for friends (less than 10 hours total)
Unfortunately my friends don’t like to play rocket league all that often anymore so I havent played in a few months 😅
That’s how I was, I started 2 months before the game went free to play. I had ~150 hours when I hit c1 in season 1 of free to play. The only problem is I’ve been hardstuck c3 for 7 seasons now 😭
i started in jan 2021, just hit gc with 1300 hours. welcome to champ its aids
You should have mentioned the "Dodge Zone" for fast arials as it makes it easier NOT to double jump.
ive been watching you for about 2 months now and went from a plat to diamond 3 with doing what you say and training packs your a legend!
True inspiration you have truly helped me progress I’m champ 2 when I was play I never thought I would make it but upswing your knowledge as an advantage has helped me progress immensely love your content
Well said Thano, I found myself nodding to more than a few excerpts through the entirety of this and yah. Good video !
Wow i am gc1 since season 4 and this little tip with pointing the cars nose in the balls direction sounds really helpful. Could be one of the reasons i am not as fast as many other gc's.
Thanovic, your insane cinematic clips and your bright, vibrant intros always entertain us man. Keep up the good word dude!
Liked, subbed and shared...this is exactly what I asked for in one of your previous videos!!! Thanks you.
Your helping me rank up thank you man best rl youtubrr
Thanks for the vid homie
Any time I dribble to keep possession my teammate(s) see me as a golf tee and boom the ball off my dome!
I appreciate these videos so much man! I remember when I was stuck down in gold and plat now I am a few divisions from GC!
Ayo my man thano is back
Awesome video as usual!
cool man keep up good work
Thanovic thank you for all the tip videos I watched most of them and hit diamond
1:01 this is actually how I imagined Pros play in rlcs 😂
These where i think the best tips ive ever heard, im plat and im a little mechanical so this helps insanely much, now i get it why all these other plats are so good😂🤔
nice one
re tip#5 you can also adjust the stick sensitivity for flips to make it less likely that you'll engage it while performing fast aerials, if that helps anyone
@@lepancho8122 its the dodge deadzone and the pros are using mostly 0.65-0.7 if i remember correctly, but you can look it up too.
Love your vids
Finally hit Diamond 1 😅 ether it’s easier to rank up or I’m actually getting better
Anyways thanks bro your videos definitely help & im always jumping back, checking older vids for more improvement.
Keep it going 👍
It's actually harder which is good in this regard. As the player base gets better do are you. I guarantee if you looked back at your game play from 2 months ago you'd see improvements ther we
An important note about fast aerials. When I learned this mechanic I would do it every time I jumped and this habit lasted a long time. I would end up missing a ton of easy shots because I didn't have my dodge. The same thing goes with air roll and power slide. Just because you learn a mechanic doesn't mean you need to use it every time.
fast aerials are better when the ball is really high or you don't have much time. If you're going for a shot and the ball is sort of low and you have time it's better to save your dodge until you go for the shot
@@Sunshot_Addict Yeah exactly. I was just trying to say when you learn a new mechanic it's easy to build bad habits. I built that muscle memory of always double tapping jump and it was really hard to break. Knowing when to use a mechanic is just as important as learning the mechanic itself
@@Spitts I'm C2 and still guilty of this, I still miss shots because I instinctively fast aerial every time, definitely a hard habit to break! Kick myself every time thinking "Why did you do that?!" yet will do it 3 seconds later.. lol
@@UpcomingChris It becomes muscle memory. I had to force myself to only single jump for every ball for a few weeks to break the habit.

What's that recovery workshop map that you used? Anyone could share it to me?
What is that octane decal with cracks in it?
Plats. They mean well, need to kick the ego and stay positive with team mates and if you had a bad day, leave it and bring that good energy, you’ll see diamond consistently and champion in no time. (Unranked also has a ranking system so maybe go on RL tracker to see where your at there) I find it’s a better way to gauge your mmr at those ranks.. solo queue and 3 man teams CAN and do make some games un winnable when you haven’t even worked out the Chem of the group.. be patient, have fun, try some crazy stuff but let everyone kno ur going for it haha! GG
Relying on the other team messing up for you to win is the name of the game, it just at higher ranks they won't easily mess up you have to be a lot more creative and consistent with your shots to force them into a spot where they mess up. The only other thing I would add to this is to just play the game, doesn't matter the playlist, you will only improve the more you play but if you go into matches with a mindset of "oh I am only good for a couple games then I just whiff everything", stop, play the game win or lose and try to be self critical instead and improve on what you lack.
What is the training map around the two minute mark?
I mastered powerslide and alot of mechanics and then my controller brooe and i have to play without powerslide im getting good at it now so when i get powerslide back ima be a god (alr was but yh)
Thanks I'm trying to get out of Diamond
Your the best rl UA-camrs imo
hei bro do u have the names of the two workshop maps u used on the video? ty
I'm a champion 2 in 1s 2v2 and 3v3 any advise for a c2 to get to gc1 for thr 1st time I can't get gc1 in 1s because I'm allready losing to gc1s in my champ2 1s lobbys
I recently fell down to play 3 from diamond 3 and I'm super sad about that.
Great video first off but at 1:07 you said you cant rely on your opponents making mistakes to win games but that is what happens in every pro and ssl game with the one off incredible peak outplay that wins the game.
That's because at that level everybody is playing the game almost perfectly. Almost perfect positioning, offense, defense, literally everything. That's why you almost have to rely on people making mistakes like that because the margin of error is so small.
I'm c3 but I watched all these videos I dont know weather I'm just not implementing it all or what, I have high mechs like shooting not just freestyle mechs. And it's not like I'm totally out off postion it's just I don't rank up even tho I can tell I'm better in almost every c3 lobby I play
Any advice would be great, anyway great video and thanks for reading this :p
Eventually, try using a small bit of air roll right before you make contact with your fast aerial. Tilting/turning certain ways will make the ball go in the direction that your car turned. This is extremely helpful for dunking and/or trying to get the ball into the top corner. DISCLAIMER: this doesn't apply to every aerial, so use wisely.
How do you get car color in training
Funny I was just thinking what mechs should I learn then the goat himself posts
Im like gc2/3 so i have a decent understanding of what i should learn and stuff. But i still like to watch tutorials like this just for fun. Im crazy.... hahaha
on KBM you can't hold back before jumping, because that will make you stop -_-
quick fingers is what we need :P
I just hit Champ in 2s and I’m around 250 hours lifetime in RL and apparently I’m way ahead of schedule so I’m kinda proud of that. Especially considering my mechanics are absolutely atrocious
whats the name of the decal hes using in 1:52?
The only mechanic RL needs is to bring ranked to lvl 50 instead of 10. Smurfs are killing the game.
Facts. I’m new. I was amazed by freestylers at first. Then I realized I was better than I thought tank wise bc of the vast amount of smurfs. In ones bronze over 40% of players I see are smurfs. Makes it impossible to know where you truly are. Drives me crazy lol
to me Wave Dashes and Half Flips is what made me understand the car mechanics. Just being able to know what your car can do and how it can move in which you aren't accustomed to yet, lets you understand how you can aim your car so you can hit those powershots and recoveries better.
I play on pc but don’t know how to download the workshop maps
Half Flip, Speed flip, Dribble & Flick, Fast Aerial/Pre-Jump, Single Jump 50/50, Wall Control & backboard defence. Not much else
3rd one
remember u can learn whatever u want 👍
The good news is, you never stop back flipping from quick aerials
I'm C1 and I never stopped backflipping when attempting a fast aerial 😭
if fast arials are complicated for someone its not gonna be their game :D
Can epic players use workshop maps with some workaround ??
yeah ill give ya the link ua-cam.com/video/V8IWeM1cKUo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SpookLuke
playing with someone in own rank better then solo , and someone from Argentina she almost Champ 1's again in 2's , she use to be Diamond 1 and Plat 3 in 1's but derank to Gold but that should not matter she just better as a team player
I am sorry that it is rude but like thqnks for telling me (maybe other people) stuff that I (or we) KNOW.
Fast aireals easier said than done
w vid
An all encompassing mechanics video. Now no one on your stream will ever ask you how to get better at the game. 🤣
I feel like apart from these the only 1 other mechanic that you need which is actually really important are double taps. They make scoring in the higher ranks much easier and if you can consistently do them you can get to any rank.
i usually double jump before boosting for aieriels
doing it the right way is definitely better I used to do it your way but now I feel so much faster to the ball doing it the right way
Q: How do we find those other tutorials when the videos are named things like "The Only Mechanics You'll EVER Need in Rocket League"? Your videos are awesome but in the end useless cause I can't search for what I need. Or is there something I'm missing?
Summary: The only skill you need to play rocket league is rocket league skill. But also here are some general tips.
Yeah but it's way more fun to like a swan while doing it. I would lose passion otherwise lol.
I'm very new. Like 3 weeks in. I appreciate your videos. Helping this bot a ton. Game has a giant skill gap and I can't wait to get good and be on top. Gotta grind thru the I'm trash phase and get to the skies.
2 words: Powerslide Cuts
oooo so that how i can bicom a d1 im a plat 3 now
This is practically all of the mechanics in the game
Still diamond 2 :(
In diamond game sense and positioning are the worst... people are fucking dumb, they leave ball and rush for boost in corner, they double commit, they get too close to goal and get lobbed, they interrupt other people play if they "take too much time", fucking urge to smash the ball where ever, they follow you for some reason and when you want to pass mid you find out your "team mate" is literally behind you now trying to catch ball using all the boost they have, no shadow defence or in 2s, 3s trying to force flicks and of course the best one: cutting in shooting ball into side wall.
It's fucking annoying.
im starting to become like this and i hate it, i peaked in champ 3 in 3's and 2's a year ago and took a break and now im stuck on diamond 3 div 3-4... genuinely hate seeing the constant double commits and rushing for boost but im becoming part of the issue smh
@@leumas2606 I’m new. Happening in all ranks. I watched tons of vids at first and learned how important positioning And rotations are. Every game I eventually have to chase and compensate bc tmmts strictly chase and trail. Sucks lol
I feel like I just watch these videos for fun now. Been stuck between p3 and d1 for 2 seasons now 😂
rotations dont matter as much if you have long term goals, go crazy on mechs because that takes the most time to learn, and once u get good at that play ones or sum
@@Its_Stunt bro he’s diamond if he what’s to rank up he needs rotations first
Hello
5th
man i have been practising for hours and hours and i haven't gotten anywhere, i have ranked down to silver from gold i can't play like this anymore im the worst player in the world pls help me someone 😭
hey Thanovic! I don't mean to sound cocky but I'm a diamond 2 usually (rank goes up and down) but I can hit double resets (not always score) however I'm very confident i can score one within 10 attempts you dont have to do it on video or you dont have to do it at all lol but if so my gamertag is D2 FREESTYLER also i love the content!
btw wrong rl logo in start of video
I am a plat player......and I am nice...sometimes

Wow actually.. here is some truth.. I've tried for many many hours to apply these "mechanics" I've tried so hard to get good.. BUT these are all lies, nothing actually works all technical training tips or how to is straight bull.. they don't work.. at all
You’re right, no one knows how to get good, it just happens to lucky players. Coaches are just there to look good. A players higher ranked than you just got lucky
Guys keep in mind, it's not because you learned how to fast aerials that you always need to go for it. If you don't need to beat someone to the ball and can hold your flip for a powerful hit, do that instead
I always forget to pin a comment so if you see this pls sub and like and comment something nice about plat players
As a plat player, I am proud of myself for getting out of gold and proud of all the other plats out there for honing their skills. Except the toxic ones.
Dear plats, you are not bad at the game. Nobody is bad at rocket league. There is nowhere to go but up.
There’s really no other game like rocket league besides battle cars, but I’d say there’s only like 10 people from that game that are still playing rl today. Even the pros aren’t perfect and there’s plenty that they’re still learning and improving on.
Plats, where you are is an impressive feat. Don’t let that bring you down!
@@Tuxum well pros say the opposite we ALL suck
Im plat🤩🤩
Keep grinding plats (took me 1 year or more to get to diamond no pressure)
