The weakness of tall players - shots to the body. The minions had this figured out when they faced Li-Liu in the past
and also different shots to change the pace of the shuttle instead of full smashes as well. lots of drops and slices. tall players will have much more trouble retrieving these kind of shots

all the doubles pairs were waiting for a weakness from indian side and seems to have found it.. to do low serves and attack the serves.. particularly against rankireddy.. because reddy return is always to drop the return at net.. which opponents are countering.. they need to fix this as soon thomas cup is over.. mainly.. returns.. to the side boxes or so.. i think Boje has to work on this.. if they have a counter by olympics.. it will surprise the opponents and that can be deciding factor.. all you need is one correction.. cheers.

@@bisakambing8They are not mediocre. The issue was pointed out by both steen and Gill. The tumble serve, which was used greatly by fikri and a player who can atleast compete with chirag on net. Also the players target the defence of reddy more as he is weaker in defence.

Chirag and Ranki, should stop relying solely on smashes. Defence is weak, net play is weak. Also, no new serves or innovations, always smash till u get injured. A more calm and precise approach needed. Mathias should be focusing on these. Also, the opponents hv practised against fast smashes and are comfortable now taking the Indians smashes. So they keep getting tired smashing and loosing balance where the opponents are still in balance and smashing at the right opportunities. Is it just me, but I feel the smashes are lacking in power and angle.
Shetty's net play is not weak. I agree Rankireddy gets picked on at the net and he is the weaker of the two defensively. Neither Shetty nor Rankireddy were going all out with smashes in a lot of parts of this match, they were trying to play a lot of stick smashes into full smashes. A bit strange.
@@moatef1886 Of course they arent weak, they are in top 5 international pair...Its all relative, compared to top pairs they seem slightly lacking on those aspets, im no expert and a advanced intermediate, just my thoughts
