- So you are deciding to live between Buckhead or Midtown Atlanta but not sure which one is best for you. I get it. They both have similarities especially if you are considering high-rise living. However, there are some differences between Buckhead and Midtown and I explain what those are in this video.
Honestly, whether you live in Buckhead or Midtown will really depend on what you like to be surrounded by. I know some people who live in Buckhead and love it while others absolutely hate it. And the same goes for Midtown. I think the biggest difference between Buckhead and Midtown is that one offers much more walkability while the other offers much more of a luxury, spacious feel.
Which one do you prefer? If you've lived in Atlanta or currently live in Atlanta, let the viewers know which one you like better and why! Let's help those folks out that are moving to Atlanta figure out which neighborhood will be a better fit for them and so they don't move to the wrong area. :)

@JamesPeterson-sh8fw Hi James. I have no idea where to even start with your innovative idea. Definitely out of my scope!
Buckhead: Old, rich, conservative
Midtown: Young, have money( how much depends on who you ask), more liberal
Active people in both neighborhoods. Glad this helps
Another knockout video!! Always excited to see new information from the channel… Looking forward to the next ride-A-long bike ride though, Thanks for sharing the vibe’s and current condo and townhouse prices of both communities, you’re definitely the source of knowledge for this area of Atlanta. Thumbs way up…👍
haha, not sure when I'll do another bike ride. I'm not comfortable riding in the streets and there is only so many times I can show the Beltline. :) Thanks for being a fan of the channel! 🤗
If you like sitting in your car: Buckhead. If you like a more walkable, bikeable, and community feel, where people interact with each other: Midtown.
Thanks for an informative video
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
excellent video, so informative
Thanks Michael for the comment and glad it was helpful!
This is the best metro Atlanta youtube channel!
Aww, thanks Aamir! Appreciate the kind words. 💜💜
I’m moving to Midtown this month!!❤️❤️ Thank you for creating content for us. I’m watching this video 1 year later. 🙌
Awesome! The content in this video is still relevant today. :) Hope you like Midtown!
Wow excellent video ! I want to move to Georgia so bad and I was recommended theses two places .
Thank you! Yes, both areas are very popular and I find that everyone has an opinion of which they prefer more, hence why I made this video. :)
@UCRDv4CdqhV_J_T0C03PeIYA I think both areas are very diverse.
Thank you for the video. I'm new in the area and looking at where is where.
Hey! Thanks for watching. Yes, totally get being new to Atlanta and figuring out up from down. Hopefully my videos will help give you a general vibe of some areas around town. Reach out anytime you have questions!
Both are awesome tbh
yeah, both have different vibes and there are positives about both of them. I find that some people really like one over the other.
Interesting how things change and renamed. My aunt lived next to The Fox Theater and was always called Buckhead.
Def interesting. The Midtown area was called Buckhead?!?!
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta , from around the Fox area!
Thank you for this info! it was really helpful 😃 New supporter here !
Aww, you are welcome! Thanks for watching and subscribing! ❤️❤️
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta You’re welcome 😀I’m about to binge watch your videos 🤗
@@AccordingToQueen hahaha. Happy watching. If you have questions, just holler!
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta Thank You 😀
What’s up with downtown? Everyone forgets about us down here. But Midtown is more walkable than Buckhead. Downtown is walkable too. And centennial park isn’t as big as piedmont but it’s decent.
Hey there! Thanks for watching. You know, I think Downtown has sort of been forgotten. I've shown some cool lofts in the Downtown area. I think I always equate Downtown to more touristy or a place for conferences. I'm excited to see what happens if/when the Gulch development starts to actually break ground.
Because downtown is allegedly, where car break ins are at!
I live in Buckhead. I walk around on backstreets and on the Northwest Beltway including around huge golf course.
Yeah, the Bobby jones golf course is nice. Don’t get me wrong, there are pretty neighborhoods to walk through in Buckhead. I find there are less little pockets of corners w/ coffee shops, etc that ppl can walk to. Buckhead is a big area!
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta Just went shopping and after got me coffee in the Starbucks. 5 more minutes walking cofee shops at Buckhead Village.
Nice! Do you think the Buckhead secession movement has calmed down or is it still percolating under the surface?
I haven't heard much about it lately. I believe they were going to put off deciding about it for a year. But when I looked into all this secession talk, it looks like Buckhead has brought this topic up on and off again over a few decades.
If your over 50 and going out and partying is not on the top of your list then Buckhead.
I am from Toronto been to Atlanta once for the solar eclipse, is mid town and the area around Centennial Olympic Park the same area ?
Hi! I remember that solar eclipse event! haha So no, Midtown and the Downtown (where Centennial Olympic Park is at) are not the same. They are very close to each other but completely different vibes. I find that Midtown has more of a city vibe & energy - lots of high rise condos vs Downtown is more hotels, touristy stuff, the sporting arenas, and then it gets kinda drab the further south Downtown you go.
i m from toronto as well
Milton.
What’s the comparison for these and Atlantic Station? (My son is starting at Tech this year)
Hi NP! Congrats on your son going to Tech! I’d say Atlantic Station is more of a shopping area mixed with some condo/apartment buildings but nothing overly fancy. Midtown and Buckhead will have more higher end restaurants - you don’t really find those at Atlantic Station (which is more chain based). Atlantic Station is more of a general outdoor mall that is walkable if you live in one of the apartment or condo buildings nearby. I’d say the crowd is younger there too partly due to college kids and there’s a couple of large condo complexes that are on the more affordable side - so many first time young buyers will settle there. Midtown and Buckhead are just bigger and have more to do (parks, dining, more upscale scenes). That said, if you live in Atlantic Station, you are really close to West Midtown which is a trending spot right now. I do love the Atlantic condo building there though- they have amazing views of the city!
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta thank you for this thoughtful response!
I live in Buckhead. The roads are terrible. The traffic is terrible. The crime is terrible. Lenox Mall is a crime factory. Other than that they are fine.
Hey AK! Thanks for your input. I wouldn't say Buckhead is the only area with bad roads. Atlanta in general has potholes everywhere! And traffic is going to happen anywhere you live...can't really avoid it. Malls I think are a dying breed. Sad to see Lenox Mall fall apart though. I used to shop there all the time.
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta you’re right about the roads and traffic. Howell Mill Rd. is an absolute disgrace from start to finish. It will literally destroy your car. I wish the secession for Buckhead from Atlanta had passed. I dont like providing Atlanta 40% of their tax revenues when we are only 20% of the population. Atlanta definitely does not give us anywhere near what we contribute. When you go to Alpharetta and see their roads and crime stats and schools it’s easy to get envious. They are sooo much better. Once my kids graduate am definitely either moving there, to Nashville, or to Sarasota. The citizens keep electing people that do nothing to improve it. It’s a shame.
@@Akartavor Ooh, Sarasota and by the beach sounds dreamy!
I like Midtown ATL better
MIDTOWN
I love Midtown too! :)
Crime is bad in Midtown. Didn't you read about the lady who got stabbed multiple times while walking?
Yes, she was out by herself at like 1AM - not the best time to go walk your dog in the park. I'm not saying any area is perfect but certainly during the day, you see people out and about in both of these areas.
Crime is so low in Midtown that it makes the news when it happens.
At the 1:31 mark. What apartment is that
I think that might be Skyhouse Buckhead.
@@AllAboutLivingInAtlanta well I already settled for elora(Icon) of buckhead. But thank you very much.
Midtown Atlanta is better
I really like Midtown too - it fits my lifestyle better.
