Such an underrated channel and after 1 hour since this video was posted I was the first one to comment. Anyway, I often have time to listen to the music of the most AWESOME game franchise.
its probably gonna take months for me to write this, but imma make a story to follow along with the music. im not sure how well this will play out, but uhh, if you want an idea of what it will be about... Im thinking of maybe doing a story inbetween the adventures of the Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks. As, after Wind Waker, Link and Tetra find a new continent and create a kingdom there. And in Spirit tracks, Zelda is the granddaughter of the two. So why not tell of a story of not the grand child, not the grandparents, but the ones in between them? ....eh, let's see how it goes...
Okay so good news and bad news: The good news is, I finished the story! The bad news is, I cant fit all of it on one comment. So I'll write it in parts in the replies! Have fun reading! Edit: I should maybe give some context: This is a story about what happened between The Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks. We know both stories, but what about what happened in the middle of it? Well that is what this story is all about. Okay, NOW enjoy!
Alright, well I have a story for this song compilation. This will take a while, so please get your popcorn and reading glasses, and enjoy! 00:00 Okay so there is a boy with blonde hair sitting in the woods watching the animals when his dad, a knight from Hyrule castle, asks him to go with him to the castle 02:02 Then the king and queen of Hyrule (Wind Waker Link and Tetra) talk about how due to their busy lives, they cannot keep Zelda (their daughter) entertained, especially since she wants to go on adventures and explore, much as they did. So the king asks this boy (who we'll call Link) if he would like to take Zelda with her to explore the new Hyrule and have a 'playdate' (he asks him as the knight recommended his son). Link is eager and accepts the mission. 03:25 04:43 so the king sends Zelda down to go along with him and the two rush out of the castle and go on almost a montage of Hyrule (they climb trees, they fish in the river,...they see a pig and try to tame it, but it starts to chase them) 06:45 The two are tuckered out and find a cliffside to relax on. This is when Link gets a better look at Zelda and he falls in love, but he seems too nervous to ask her out. Zelda then sees a nearby town and says they should go get some food for a picnic. And thus 09:40 The two go to the town and gather some food. And while Zelda is distracted, Link goes to a floral shop and asks for a blue and white flower (maybe there would be a joke where the seller kinda yells out loud the order like "a what?! A flower?! For Who? A princess?!") 12:50 They then sit at the cliffside eating their lunches. Link is thinking of proposing to Zelda with the flower (even though they only met for like 5 hours). But as he tries to say something... 15:31 A korok appears and asks for some help. Thinking it might impress Zelda, Link gets up and says he will help. But the korok laughs at him and mocks him. And as Zelda giggles, the korok thinks that she would be more helpful. He avoids saying what the problem is, but he makes the problem sound very serious and makes them rush to the forest to help them out. 17:42 There they see a bunch of worried and panicking koroks running around. The korok finally says what the problem is... there is a book on a shelf that they can't reach... Zelda, although unimpressed, is kind enough to take the book down and give it to them (even though the shelf was at shoulder height). Then all the koroks jump in glee and tell them to go to the top of a tree for a reward.
19:51 They reach the top and the koroks start flying in the air (why they didn't fly up to the shelf, we will never know) and use their colorful leaves to make a... leaf...firework...a leafwork. And by golly is it beautiful (there's even a sunset going on too). This is Link's chance to ask her to be his girlfriend. The mood is just perfect! 22:00 But as he tries to say something, he realizes that she is sad. When asked, Zelda says that it is getting late, and her mom is making dinner (I don't know any medieval foods, so um..) and she can't say no to Spaghetti-os. So she has to return home. Link is upset but understands. 23:20 They return to the castle town and say goodbye. Zelda mentions though that she will meet him here tomorrow at 8 am. And thus both of them return home, eat dinner, and go to bed. Now here's the thing: Link loves Zelda, and thus has a dream where he fights off a big scary pig beast and saves Zelda, and (blah blah blah they fall In love). Meanwhile, Zelda doesn't love Link, but the adventure, and has a dream where she goes through dungeons and solves puzzles and gets items and whatnot. The two wake up and see that they still have time before they need to meet up. So both of them have the same idea: "I'll make a gift!" 25:56 Link and Zelda get straight to work, waltzing around their surroundings and collecting the materials for their project. Link loves Zelda, so he is making a heart out of wooden sticks. Zelda loves adventure, so she is strolling around and found any armor and shields she can find on the armor stands in the halls. She even looks into the queen (cough cough Tetra)'s wardrobe and finds her old outfit. 28:04 The two arrive in the plaza with some time to spare. Link sees her, however, Zelda doesn't see him. Link starts running towards her, but he falls down and breaks the heart (split right down the middle). When he gets up, Zelda spots him and starts walking toward him. He is about to explain that he made a heart for her, but before he can say anything, she interrupts him and says he made two bows for themselves (how convenient). She shows the shields she got and the new costume to Link. Zelda also thinks that now that they are going to go exploring, they should get some training first. 29:32 So they head off to a knight academy and ask if they can be trained for a sword. The guy laughs at their faces until he sees Zelda, then he refrains and tries again. He says that it would not be a good idea to give children swords, so maybe they should try wooden ones instead. (Then there is like a training montage with the two. Maybe Link gets hit with the punching bag, and Zelda has good aim with the bow). The two are exhausted, so they think they should get a drink at...
31:08 The milk bar. (I don't have much for this, they just get milkshakes or something IDK) But then the lights go off and a stage light appears...on the stage of course) 32:35 A man in a blue trench coat, a fine mustache, and an accordion starts telling of a tale about a man who looked just like him. This man traveled the great seas in search of treasure, explored dungeons, and even teamed up with the king (cough Wind Waker Link) when he was younger to help explore the depths of a ruin called "The Temple of the Ocean King". but after all of his journeys, he went to this Hyrule to rest and start a family, only to return to the seas in search of a treasure known as the "Triforce" which is rumored to have given the wielder any wish. Zelda speaks up and asks if any of that is true, and the guy says "of course it is true... 35:57 ...I'm the SON of Linebeck! I'm like the primary source of that information!" (oh and the lights returned to the bar and everything resumes as usual) (and also this guy's name is Linebeck II in case you were wondering) Linebeck wants to be like his father and go explore dungeons, but he is also cowardly like his dad (must be a genetic thing). but Linebeck sees the adventurous side of Link and Zelda and asks them if they would like to go to a temple near his town. Where rumors of a shiny red ruby have been told and is said to be worth a fortune. However, it is also rumored to be protected by rock people, who could easily and gladly smush any trespassers. Link, a little nervous, and Zelda cheerfully accept, and thus head off to his town (sure, trust the random 15-year-old guy to go to his town, not weird at all). 37:46 39:14 They make it to where Linebeck lives: a happy cheery town (which also looks conveniently like Clock town). But they are not there for long, as they go straight into the nearby woods to get to this mysterious temple. (queue a montage of them climbing a log, crossing rivers, looking at bugs, etc.) After a couple of minutes, they arrive. There, the temple looks old and ancient, but at the same time very interesting. Linebeck explains the plan to them: 'you two go in, get the ruby, don't get squashed, and I'll wait out here safe and sound!' And as he explains the story, sounds of yelling and roaring are heard within the temple. "...Welp! Have fun!" 41:07 Link and Zelda walk in, thinking there would be a scary beast waiting for them and blood-stained walls and ominous music, they instead find a town within the temple with everyone inside dancing. In fact, it's not scary at all! It's rather lively. happy music is playing, the town is well lit, and the yelling they heard was just a group of people cheering after someone chugged a bowl of fruit punch (I'm running out of ideas). Zelda asks about there being a red ruby and if they can have it. These people (who are actually gorons) aren't just gonna give away their prized possession, but they liked their dedication to make it this far, so they reward them with a shiny red rock instead.
43:17 Zelda and Link, having gone through their first quest and succeeding, start to cheer and begin to march out of the temple, happy as can be. They then make it to Linebeck who asks to see the ruby. But when they show it to him, he is outraged. "This isn't the ruby! This is just an ordinary ROCK!!" 45:18 Even though they didn't get what they were looking for, Linebeck decides to bring it to a petrographer (rock analyzer) and see if it might have some worth. The three return to the town and talk to the petrographer. She says that the rock is maybe 5 rupees at best, yet Linebeck was still upset. He gets so angry that he slams the rock into the ground, which makes it shatter. But suddenly, a pink fairy flies out of it. 48:31 This fairy thanks the three (with Linebeck trying to take all of the credit) and asks if they can help with a similar problem happening where she and the other fairies live. 50:20 Link and Zelda see this as another quest and agree while Linebeck took a moment for him to go, debating if there would be treasure there. (Que another montage of them roaming the woods, crossing more rivers, Zelda using the bow to shoot down a vine, Linebeck getting mud in his shoes then laughing at Link faceplant into the mud, etc.) 52:25 MEANWHILE, back at Hyrule castle, the king is starting to worry about Zelda. The queen needs to reassure him that it will be okay (see, WW link almost lost his sister before and knows what it is like to almost lose someone, therefore doesn't want the same thing to happen to his daughter. And Tetra hasn't had to deal with that before, so she can only comfort him and mention that when they were younger they were fine on their own) while the king says that she is right, he secretly tells Link's dad (the knight) to go and find them, making sure they are okay. 54:07 BACK TO THE TRIO, they arrive at the magical destination. You've heard of the Great Fairy Fountain, now here comes the Great Fairy...Lagoon...(¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). There are some colorful fairies flying around, but you can sense that there aren't as many as you would think. Then, a great fairy appears and is glad there are people who can help 55:54 She tells a tale about what happened to the pink fairy (the one that got stuck in the rock) and where the rest of the fairies are. She explains that there lives a boar who was on the brink of death on a rainy night, who she rescued and brought to the lagoon to heal its wounds. The fairy even gave the boar some magic to help fend off in the woods. However, the boar wished to stay in the lagoon instead of going back out into the wild. When the fairies kept denying his request, the boar became angry and started to use its magic to seal fairies into rocks. The great fairy then sealed the boar into a realm, where it could not escape. She then explains to the trio that if the boar were to be defeated, then perhaps the magic will wear off and the fairies would be freed from the rocks. But Zelda doesn't want to hurt the boar, she knew it just was afraid of going back out there. Link isn't sure either, but will do anything if it meant to have a chance with the princess. Linebeck doesn't really care tbh. 57:33 ...I honestly don't know what to do here. It's just so out of place for me...
58:35 As the two debated if they would go into the realm to defeat it, the knight appears (how convenient the dad knew where they were). He wonders what they are about to do, the duo explains the story, and the knight decides to join them regardless of their decision. Zelda finally decides that she will go in there and talk to the boar. And perhaps she can get it to change its ways. (I should mention that the boar is an actual boar, not Ganon or anything). So the great fairy opens up a portal to the realm, and Zelda, Link, and the knight enter the portal and help the beast. 59:50 This realm is oddly calming. Water falls from every direction, yet they are able to walk on top of the water. (picture the chamber of sages from Ocarina of Time, but brighter). The three explore the realm and eventually... 01:02:16 01:03:33 They spot the boar resting nearby. The boar, despite being told that it is dangerous and harmful, seems to be calmly sleeping. But it doesn't for long, as it wakes up to the sound of Zelda walking closer. The boar starts to growl and backs up. And while Link and the knight prepare for battle, Zelda insists to talk to it first. She starts slowly by calmly speaking to the beast. She mentions how it is okay and that there is no need to be upset. She then talks about how the fairies meant no offense for wanting it to leave, and that they just wanted to help you back on your feet. The boar stops growling but continues to back up. Zelda continues to approach and reassures it that everything will be okay. She then gets close enough to touch the boar. And as she slowly puts her hands on its head...the boar bites her hand and yells. Link and the knight jump and rush towards her. The boar looks angrier now and ready to attack. 01:05:41 The knight tells Link to return Zelda back to the castle while he fends off the boar. Link and Zelda rush out of the realm, (coincidentally it starts to rain) and Zelda talks about how she was so close to saving it. (I was originally going to have them run to the castle, but I forgot they are at a FAIRY LAGOON) Link gets straight to work and grabs some water from the lagoon (It's pure, it's fine) and pours it onto her hand. And as he rubs it in, he notices that she has gone silent. And then he knew why... 01:07:42 The king has arrived. Just as he had thought, his daughter has been injured and both Link and the knight failed their jobs of keeping her safe. (and oh is he mad) He talks down to all three of them. Zelda tries to explain what is going on, but the king won't listen. In fact, he grabs Zelda's arm and takes her away, leaving Link and the knight behind.

May be because I never listen to it or find it included in playlists, but just realized Ciela's Theme uses Outset Island a base. Very cool
