This a little smaller ensamble has the ability to find the essence of Chopin in the best way. Together with Annas marvelous playing, and under Conrad Van Alphen, this performence goes from good to very, very good. Thank you!
(the same comment I wrote to Sinfonia Rotterdam. It is somewhat of a problem if two publishers almost at the same time publishes the same consert. This time you were a little late)
It’s a beautiful story about Anna’s starting to play the piano at age 5 and look at her now , one of the world’s most watched pianists in the world . Her technical interpretation of Chopin and Rachmaninov’s work is the very best. We love you Anna
The Larghetto at 15:30 is played with such an intensity, at the same time very diminuendo, that I can nothing but amire Anna och the orchestra under the baton of Van Alphen in this. Must be one of the best versions I ever heard. Very emotional!

I have played both Chopin Concertos for myself and performed the 1st movement of the 1st Concerto at a concert at Stowe School in 1976 when I was 18, nearly 50 years ago now. This performance captures the essence of Chopin's harmonies rather well, even if it isn't as flashy as some other performances on youtube. Brought back a lot of memories for me. Thanks for posting it.

Great performance. Love that Fazioli -- such a wonderful instrument.
