    Interesting story my grandfather was born in 1898 and when I became a coin collector in the 1980s he gave me some rolls of 1950s and they're all from when he got them from the bank at face value he had the most awesome coin collection couldn't believe he had gold coins from circulation that went to my aunt

    Wow the two of you together, a real wealth of information and talking about a subject rarely have I seen on this subject. I can say I know for a fact that banks have caught on and they are not for the most part happy about it. They feel as if their time is being wasted and they can be servicing customers with actual bank business, that was the actual words from a clerk I met. The tellers boss just wants the lines to move smoothly and quickly,and a roll or silver hunter gums up the works at times.
    Congratulations on making it to 40000 subs Daniel.

    There's actually a bank in my town that has a coin counter/rolling machine. The bank was originally called by another name than its current name. I know my grandfather was on the first board of directors. Thanks for another video. I really enjoyed this one. Also, I got the two silvertowne bars and 2x2 cardboard flips I ordered from you in today. I have a few finds I will be using them. On the topic of unsearched rolls on ebay, there are a "few" legitimate sellers, but not many. One person I bought off recently just sells stuff to benefit charities. The rolls I've gotten from them so far have some really nice coins in them. I was definitely able to upgrade a lot of coins in my albums. I may call your shop at some point to see if you have any rolls.

    A friend of my mom's, her husband passed and we were helping sort thru some things he had been interested in. He had been saving pennies for years, mostly just buying rolls from the bank, and alot he had sorted by year into rolls. Out of all of them, the only ones that appear to be original rolls were 6 from 1974 which I'm saving just because it happened to be my birth year. I don't think there is anything worth opening the rolls over though if I'm right. The other rolls I saved were 20 rolls he made of 1970s's because someday I want to see if any are small date, and I figure with that many examples to look thru it might be easier for me to figure out the difference between small and regular.

    Ok so I've always wondered on the single squeeze and how they are getting the doubling that has been found. What you are talking about with the die "falling" / "popping" into place makes perfect sense and why it would look like two squeezes with the split serrifs. Love the info thanks

    33:00 Coin OPP - I think you're right. I'm seeing split serifs on coins that are clearly getting stuck in the feeder ( or something.) I have a roll of Salt River's that are off center and I see the split serifs on both sides. I think I have an example that might be relevant to the scenario you're talking about.

    Do you guys know how to see individual coins in a sealed bag, with your own eyes, without opening the bag in any way, and without damaging the bag in any way? I figured out how to do that, and even photograph a coin in the bag. I have no idea whether it's a trick dealers know, or whether I figured something out that nobody else has bothered figuring out and doing.
    What motivated me? Pennies switched from copper to zinc while my sister was a bank teller. At my suggestion, she got permission to buy 3 mint sealed bags at face value during the weeks before the zinc ones got released. One each for herself, me, and our dad. I ended up with all 3 of them over time, being the only one of us into coins. Maybe 10 years ago I sold 2 of them on eBay to a guy who was pretty happy to get them. I have one left, no particular plans to sell it.
    Being curious, I didn't want to sell them without being able to be sure they weren't a date with reason to search, and the markings on the bags didn't make it clear to me as to what they were. It turned out they were neither the expected 1982, nor a date worth searching.

    Hi Daniel & Robert, I follow you both for your knowledge and caring for the coin Community. Yes, I have fell for buying rolls only to find many coins with no mint Mark's or the same common dates. I now don't trust buying any rolls of coins any longer as I see too many loose ends that are fake crimped. If you can help steer me in the right direction of where to buy real unsearched rolls so I may purchase some I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys for the informative videos. Earlene from RI

    Daniel. Dont worry you will have over 100,000 soon. When you make such honest videos shows you are a honest person. Honest people are always honest . There are just built that way it is not a choice, it is just who they are. It is what they dont have that makes them unchangeable in there honesty. They lack greed , selfishness, envy, jealousy, arrogance, or the need to be praised. They strive to be the person that they would want to be friends with or do business with. And in the coin business there are both ends of the spectrum. I am that kind of honest person I want my friends to be like. You are that kind of person I would be friends with. I can trust you to tell me the truth even if it hurt because your that honest . My coin dealer at Rare coin Is that honest. You are the channel I go to first to get my information. Your to the point, indepth details with out the useless jabber jabber. I am sure that all that subscribe to you do not unsubscribe.

    Hello….. I have a quick and random question for you. I have an original bank wrapped roll of 1964D Roosevelt silver dimes. I cannot decide on whether it would be better for me to sell the role unopened and unsearched as is…..or if it would be better to go ahead and open the role to search for varieties. If you look on PCGS the 1964D Roosevelt dime has an unbelievable 8 PCGS recognized varieties….which makes this role awfully tempting to break open. Not only are there a lot of varieties, but all of them seem to be very valuable at the mint state level…..and this is what makes my decision difficult. May I ask what your advice would be? I really would appreciate it. By the way, I am still relatively new within the coin collecting hobby…..and I have learned so much from your channel…..and I really do appreciate your content. Lol I’m not saying this to kiss your butt at all….I’m just being honest. This is also why I’m coming to you with this question. I value your insight and that’s the truth. Thank you very much and have a great rest of your weekend.! 🙂💪🏼👍🏼

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for your kind words but no one can answer that question for you, no one can know your roll’s odds to make such a decision. It’s like asking a financial advisor if you should go to the casino with a $100 bill you found on the ground.

    • @davidargent2688
      @davidargent2688 Рік тому

      @@CoinHELPu You are very welcome…. and thank you for the response. I know that ultimately if I decided to search the roll there could be absolutely no varieties at all. So if I did search it hoping to find some it would be a total gamble….and I agree. However, throwing all odds out the window would you sell it or enjoy taking the opportunity to search it? I understand that our financial positions may be different from one another, and I understand that both of us may have a completely different risk tolerance, but from someone who is knowledgeable about coins….and appreciates coins…..and also profits from coins when certain errors or varieties are acquired…..I’m just curious what you would do. Thanks again.!
      -Dave

    With the prices for silver, I quit buying 999 bullion and started buying BU Choice US coins. Mainly Peace and Morgan dollars that are fresh out of someone’s safe or storage. I’ve found that the best dates and condition are now being offered for sale or at least I’m finding more of exceptional coins than ever. I also try to buy uncirculated Mercury dimes, Washington Quarters and Walking Liberty and Franklin halves. I’ve tried to get them in rolls, but only a few met my expectations, so I obtain them one at a time or cherry picking.
