I was right across the street working at red rocket fireworks when it started.

RRF is the best. If you're gonna fire a rocket it better be a Red Rocket.

If youve ever worked a vw engine fire, you know why you dont put straight water on fireworks fires, magnesium burns hotter with water, use foam.

You absolutely CAN put water on fireworks. FOAM IS NOT rated for use on magnesium either. Only Class D powder is rated for use on magnesium, but you can't get close enough to use it on fireworks, nor would it work anyway since any magnesium (which is only ONE ingredient of fireworks) is contained within the shell or rockets, and wouldn't be able to be put out by Class D powder.
You clearly don't know what you're talking about here. Water is THE standard method of fighting fireworks fires.
