I have the same problem with scale in my Princess Elizabeth cottage , some things just look massive . I have bought things I thought would be ideal , but are just not right , luckily I have other houses I can use them in 😊 I agree with you the dark furniture suits this house and the lace curtains look homely.

Wow, I love what you did with your little house. The blue lounge does not fit in with all the darker furniture, maybe you can use it in another house. You can lift your sink with little wooden beads that it looks like the sink have 'feet' (in Afrikaans we say it have pootjies)... But over all I just love it... Have fun and keep the sparkles on. I'm pleased with how the little lace curtains turned out, and I think the needlework rug in the lounge works, now just need to finish it off properly!

It's such a pretty house and the 1930s furniture upstairs really suits it. Perhaps wooden kitchen furniture downstairs would work better? The 1960s Triang metal sink unit has more of a 'modern' look. The lace curtains are a triumph!

I love this house! I think the wooden table looks great in your kitchen. You could paint or put a decal design(s) on it or add a tablecloth, etc. What fun to start to make this house a home! Thanks! Kathleen
Hello, it's a nice house, the lace looks lovely at the windows, I think the corner cupboard is drawing your eye first in the room, you could take the feet off the bottom of it to drop it down so the middle of the cupboard would be level with the sink top and it wouldn't look so tall then, the dark furniture does look good in there, I'm sure it will look wonderful when you get it all furnished. It's looking so good! If you don't have another sink, maybe you could make a little riser to put under the sink unit and raise it up just a half inch or so. Maybe then it wouldn't appear too small. I like the chairs you chose. I know you can make a table, I've seen the other nice furniture you've made!
I'm going to see if a little plinth/riser might work for the sink. I probably will make a table :) I do like the chairs, they just don't seem 'right' but I will just see how it feels after they have been in there for a while. Thank you :)
Very nice! Can you make a little base for the sink to raise it up a bit? I did that with a Temu night stand, and used it in the kitchen of my dollhouse as more counterspace.
The little lace curtains are adorable. I like the blue sink, corner cupboard & I like the idea of a blue oven or a blue table or chairs. The washing machine with wringer is so cute.😊❤

@@serenata1736 it could be even older than 1930s. People made do and fixed items. My grandparents had an ice box well into the 1950s even though some folks had refrigerators.
Oh yes, you are quite right. I need to either make some 'older' furniture or try and find some. Even we in our own house have much older furniture. That particular period in time though it was definitely make do with what you had or that was passed down. In fact I still have my grandparents chairs from the 1930/40s although sadly the cross beams at the bottom have been chewed to bits by our dear Percy when he was a pup. We hadn't realized he was chewing them until he had done them a serious damage! I was going to get them repaired, but now we don't have Percy I might just leave them as part of the chairs history.
I love this house and the furniture you have in it. The wallpaper looks so beautiful too. I never worry to much about scale with my dollhouses, it’s what looks right for me and the dolls living in it. The idea with the curtains is great, I may borrow that one 😄

They are 16th scale but I find they really suit larger things. The brown furniture is perfect.

The sink looks too 1950s modern. I would look for an older style sink and range.
