what do you think about K&F FD to RF adapter?
    Great video btw 😊
It's nice that you tested both - FullFrame and APS-C

I've never used it before so I can't say anything about it but I do have other K&F adapters and I can say the they are built well and I've never had any issues with them. Overall I think they are a good brand.

Great job, thanks! The adapter doesn’t fit on my Canon FD 35mm 1.8 lens. Any suggestions?

That's strange. Does the adapter work with other FD lenses? If so I did have an issue with an FD 200mm f4 lens once and the problem wasn't the adapter. Turns out the eBay store I bought the lens from opened opened the lens to clean it and put the lens mount on incorrectly and that prevented me from being able to mount the lens adapter. You may have to unscrew the lens mount and reattach it properly. Just an idea.

Thanks for your video. Just wondering if you use the magnification button on the R5 for focusing with vintage lenses? I find using the magnification feature more awkward on the R5 than on Fuji, Sony and Panasonic cameras because the R5 doesn't go back to full view when half pressing the shutter which means you have to press the magnify button again which potentially can cause misalignments in your framing. Have you discovered any workarounds for this issue?

Hi thanks for the comment. Yes I pretty much use the magnification button with the R5 whenever I shoot with vintage lenses and yes I 100% agree with you. It's annoying that that the camera stays magnified when you tap the shutter button.
Here is what I do to workaround the issue. I often use the rule of thirds when composing my shots so i'll turn on the 3x3 grid and put my focus point on one of the intersecting lines then put the focus point on the subject I want to focus on and zoom in and take the shot. That why my subject is always in the correct position when I take the shot.
The other workaround is to take two shots. After you take your first exposure the camera will automatically zoom out to normal view. So sometimes i'll burn one shot then recompose and shoot a second shot. Hope that helps. I'm working on a view talking about tricks to shooting with vintage lenses and this will be one of the tricks.

Great video, thank you. I do have a question though. Like yourself I shoot with a lot of vintage glass on an R5 and currently have the K&F FD/R adapter. My good SSC lenses will focus past infinity with this adapter (JUST past infinity). I have read several blogs stating the adapter makers make them just a little short...~0.2 - 0.5mm...to compensate for manufacturing errors and guarantee infinity focus. It's annoying. Could you comment on this please? Does the Fotodiox adapter you tested do this. Maybe set up a tripod and test it outside using that gorgeous 85/1.2L or one you know is properly calibrated. Thanks and have a good day.

Thanks for the comment. Always good to connect with a fellow vintage lens enthusiast :) Your adapter is working just fine. It's normal for vintage lenses to focus slightly past infinity. That's how they were designed back then. Even on a vintage film camera the lenses will focus slightly past infinity. It's just one of the fun quirks of shooting with old glass.
