Your hair is so beautiful; the shape and volume is stunning. Your explanation of installing and maintaining the braidlocs were clear and concise. Many thanks.
This was EXTREMELY helpful. Braiding all the way down yhen interlocking the root once it starts grow out is something I can definiyely do. Thanks for posting.
Thank you , this is very informative. I had dreads for sixteen years, which grew below my butt, because of the texture of my hair, very soft and curly, and i used to pull it up in all type of styles it started to fall out at the front. I started to get bald at the front and i was force to cut off my years of dreads. I am blessed to find your video and it has encouraged me to restart my dreads of which i really missed.Thank you very much for the edification. You are blessed.
I agree. This is the best video I've seen too. Keep doing your research and then do it. Best decision of my life. My mom did the braids for me and I maintain the interlocking myself. I always get compliments and when I tell people they are braidlocs they are shocked!
This is best video explanation I’ve ever seen. I have asked many locticians on IG , what’s the benefits of 2, 3, 4, rotation..no sensible answers. Thank you for this easy thorough detail
I love the size of your locs, and I have so much admiration for people who start and maintain their own locs! I have sisterlocks, and I re-tied my entire head once during the height of the pandemic. I am so happy I know how to interlock (3-point as well). Thanks for sharing info on your journey!
Your hair is looking good. I always knew that braid locs will look beautifully well on full hair. And it's true that if the braid is done too tightly, it won't swell that much and the patterns will take a very long time to disappear.. thanks for the update.
I am really loving your hair is simply gorgeous. I have sisterlocks but my biggest regret is that I do not stick with the braidlocs.... because I was a lifelong braider and was not educated on the fact that I could have done braidlocs.
I'm 15 months into 2 strand twists after 9 years of being a loose natural. The shrinkage was horrible during the first 8 or so months. I started interlocking around month 6. It's getting better. Still waiting on my ends to completely loc. Thanks for the tips and advice in this video.
I saw boho locs I think that I will speak with a stylist show them what I want it to look like. For now I will be on a no heat break on my hair, just wash it keep it conditioned until I am ready to purchase the kit. Thanks for sharing your method it has been helpful.
Your hair looks amazing. I’ve been struggling with my natural hair for years now and I’ve been thinking about loc’ing my hair. My hair grows so fast so it would be best if I can learn to “retwist” or interlock my new growth myself.
I knew nothing about locs or interlocking before my loc journey. I have a loc playlist on this channel that should answer any questions you have; but if you have additional questions, please let me know.
Hello thank you for the video. Do you have 500 braids/locs or 278 locs…you offered two different numbers! And can you tell me about the shape or cut style of your braid locs?
I’m thinking of starting my loc journey again because same as you, I’m a lazy natural, lol. I’ve tried 2 strand twist style of locs an didn’t like that my hair bunched up as the loc formed an I lost a lot of length. I’m hoping braid locs won’t do that.
Thank you for this video it was very helpful for me I am almost 4 months in and have natural curly hair I have done my first interlocking of the new growth but I’m afraid to wash my hair. Do you have a video of your maintenance I would love to see that because I am in need of a washing but don’t know what products to use and how
At the beginning of my loc journey, all I did was braid and band when I washed it. At that time, I only used shampoo, no conditioner, and let it dry after the shampoo. That was my complete routine for the first year. I hope this helps.
@@LivinDivine ok thanks I will try that method also did you have ones that came a loose if so what did you do to control that the ones around my edges and nape keep coming a loose
Your hair looks great. How do you keep it from curling? I try braiding it or twisting and it still tends to curl. I use the two point rotation on my retying.
In fact I do have a question. I love the "layers" of your hair. Did it just grow like that or did you trim the edges yourself? Also can you do another post with your hair down and what you use to avoid dry scalp?
I'm sorry, I thought I responded to this earlier. I cut my hair in layers for that style. I also use conditioner that prevents any dry scalp issues. I don't use any additional products or oils.
@@LivinDivine This is the 1st loc style I've seen with layers, & where the layers actually blend. My locs are bigger (@ 90 total) so I'm afraid of it looking blocky & weird. Your hair looks great.
I use Joico moisturizing shampoo and conditioner treatment balm. I love it, and it and it leaves my hair so full and shiny. It’s a very thick conditioner, so you will have to rinse A LOT. I talked about it in the video about how I keep my locs shiny. It’s in my loc playlist. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for sharing this absolutely beautiful in that first glance I would have never known it was your natural hair but I have like a ton of hair in my hair is finer and I'm going to be honest I cannot figure out what to do with it I put it in a ponytail or I'll wear french braids on a hat or one of those almost like a turbine with a flower on it I just can't figure out what to do and then because my hair has reached the length where I you know I can go to the salon but that would be costly the maintain a regular you know going to the salon so this is a great idea and also I wanted to ask for a product you use only thing that I would not want to do is have to keep retwisting or rebranding my hair thank you for sharing
Thank you. My hair started to really thicken up at about 8 months. Because most locs shrink before you can truly see length, it took about 2 1/2 years. There’s a picture video on this channel that can give you a visual of my hairs transition. It’s in my locs playlist on this channel.
I started braidlocs about a month and a half ago and listening to video I believe that mine are definitely too tight. When I initially did them I did do my braids small and tight. Do you recommend that I take them down and redo them looser????
It really does depend on your hair type, and if you mind having the braid pattern for long periods of time. I wanted my hair to look more uniformed. I didn’t want some to look like braids and others to look like locs, once my hair loc’d. The hair that I braided loosely, started to look like locs a lot faster than the hair I braided tightly, so I redid the tight ones. It really does depend on what your preference is.
I just use shampoo and conditioner. I deep condition it ever other wash. It really doesn't need it, but I like the softness and shine it gives my hair. I'm not a fan of hard, dull, brittle locs on me.

Braid locs have the best look in my opinion.
Your locs are gorgeous. I love the volume. Video very informative. Thank you.
Thank you
Love your hair. I am one week into my journey. I have about 100 locs
I am enjoying them.
I love the look on you.

Thank you!
Your hair is so beautiful.
I did the 2 strand twist and I’m loving them. Only had them in for about two weeks! Well she’ll see what happens🙏🏾❤️

My favorite braidloc video. I’ve been searching for months.

@@LivinDivine Thank you! 💛
Thank you for answering my questions! Didn’t know anything about braid locs! Thanks again.
This has inspired me so much. I’ve been contemplating starting locs but you have definitely helped me in making the decision.
You hair is gorgeous
Love your locs. I started with 2 strand twist for the same reason in September 2018 and go to a loctition every 6-8 weeks.

One point you said you have 268 locs , in the beginning of video you said you installed about 500. Did you combine ?

Gorgeous locks! When you said that you didn’t braid your hair too tight, do you think that you braided looser than you did for your daughter’s hair?
Did you star your braid locs with a part pattern on the scalp or did you just separate randomly with the sizing the same
What type of dryer have you found that works well for you? Bonnet?
I use a bonnet dryer. Because it takes some time for my hair to dry, I can take a nap or just lay down during the drying time.
Your hair is gorgeous. You mentioned your hair is thin. How long did it take to achieve your current length and thickness of your hair?

What kind of hairs did you use to braid your locs
