The ride looked like fun and the scenery looked an awful like someplace in Florida (I'm a native) but the music was a wee bit annoying as all I really wanted to hear was the bike. A nice on ride blog would have been nice. If you used a GoPro Hero 2 like I do, buy an Olympus Linear mic for $30 with windscreen and tuck it up under your helmet just in front of your mouth...works great.
I have 2016 Spyder RT Limited (replaced my Harley Street Glide), the friends I ride with ragged the shit out of me for getting an old man's bike, that is, until they tryed to keep up with me on the Carolina mountain Twisties we ride. Even a few sport bike riders tryed but failed, this thing will haul ass. I try not to get to aggressive but you'd be hard pressed to flip a Spyder. My friends don't rag me anymore. Only the sport bikes can beat me on freeways.
i admit, this machine is not for me. but for the disabled biker, older biker or someone who fancies a change, i think its great. i know an injured biker and this would suit him perfectly
@mmarkgraf212 I took a test ride on the regular Spyder and really enjoyed it. You are right, it is exactly like operating a snowmobile. You do not counter steer to make it turn, but then again its not very car like either. CycleWorld was getting about 40MPG with it.

I'm yet to get my Spyder but have had a few rides & I'm getting to learn not to ride it like a bike & feeling a bit safer each time. I was thinking a BMW for touring but if you plan a lot of camping & you want to do it in style, you need a trailer. Bikes just aren't built to handle trailers, they wear out the rear bearing. The Spyder is the answer. Poor fuel consumption my only criticism. but with a trailer, take a fuel can
Well I would say its like driving an open top car with handlebars - not as exhilirating as a bike, but more fun than a car. Two up looks a safer bet - but what is key is the MPG, anygood?
When driving thru highspeed sweepers, does the front end tend to want to 'crab walk'? I think this would be a blast, but I would want my two street bikes before this thou. KTM Adventure R, and an old KZ1000J with upgraded suspenders,wheels, brakes, etc.
good starter bike is all i can say good about it. i had 1 did not live up to the hype. too many issues as soon as i get 15,000 miles and the shop could not figure out the issues. i heard b r p made a number of changes to the 2014's too little too late for me
Its NOT a motorcycle, it applies the same G forces in the same direction that a car does, the front end is the same as a C6 corvette with upper & lower control arms coilover shocks with an anti sway bar and 4 piston Brembo disk brakes dynamic steering and BMW type stability control connected to the rpm & brakes. it doesn't do anything a motorcycle does except blow wind in your face...oh yeah this model has a thumb paddle shifter 6 speed like a Ferrari. that downshifts as rpm drops so you dont have to down shift or you can manually down shift using the thumb shift lever with your index finger at any rpm anytime you want....by the way I left out a lot of information on what these machines have and are really capable of doing. DONT compare it to a motorcycle which it is NOT.
I expected to watch a review but...it is not. The ground music doesn't allo wto hear the engine. I dislike because this vid seems useless. Try to make a review.

It does ride like a snowmobile,,,but if you ever driven a real good snowmobile they are a blast and more fun than very many two wheelers.
