In the first season Gus seem more I don’t know calm than the other seasons. I don’t know why in the later seasons he begins to be more crazy, funny, and etc. I think that’s the Shawn effect.
I actually think that’s how Gus usually is. He tends to hold back when Shawns not around. The more the two of them hang out the more he acts like he wants to and less like the professional businessman he wants people to see him as.
@@SteveRogers0768 There's also the fact that Gus starts out as an uptight cog in a corporate machine with his pharmaceutical office job. He gets more expressive as time goes on when Shawn pulls him into progressively more unpredictably situations.
The Shules plot line is one of the few will they-won’t they scenarios in tv that doesn’t annoy me. In shows like Chuck, it drives most of the story and after that goes through the show kind of falls flat. Psych is good with and without the Shules plot.

No cause in the first season Shawn was serious as well. The show just dumbed everybody down except for Karen cause she was already dumb
