Thankyou Lee Ashby and Lee Adams for bringing some great insights from the speedway era`s that you rode in Lee. I rode at Claremont in the early 70`s and a coupla broken years in the UK for Bradford Div 2 , did make it to a Sydney Final and struggled for 6pts around that VERY scary place, Airey and Boulger were the BIG KIDS that nite with JB on top when it counted . In a later blog Lee ,your rap with DW was inspiring , (I`ve got his T-Shirt of course )in depth and poignant . As an ex-rider of little note in comparison , my own injuries whilst luckily not as severe left me nonetheless, permanent limp including a near miss neck compression ...very sobering . Like and often said `But fer the grace of God go we ALL` Lee Ashby more power to your arm , keep `em coming, genuflecting is good fun too! Cheers Rod Chessell
As someone born in late 90s I grew up watching Leigh in his prime. I don’t get to see much speedway with Leigh on UA-cam when compared the VC tapes I had. Hearing Leigh in a wheelchair broke my heart as he’s one of the most humble, honest, talented guys in the sport. I can only hope he finds happiness within his wonderful family and ability to help the youngsters in the sport. I must say my favourite Adams moment was blocking Hampel in Cardiff 2007 SF1 to lead to Bomber winning the GP 😏
What a star this guy is When he was at Arlington for a night you couldn't miss him what a classy dude always looked 100 percent Gd one Lee another great show mate Hope your all keeping well mate
