To be fair, he didn't actually care about her at all. It's just that by marrying her, he would become a high-ranking noble of Lordaeron and would gain a spot in the line of succession for the throne. It was probably just a step in a plan to become king. Even if that wasn't the plan, a high boble could covertly expand the Old Gods influence similar to how Benedictus did in Stormwind years later.

blizzards writers of these things have thankfully all been fired and metzen has been replaced in charge, now if they could retcon the past 20years and reset us to war 3 lore we'd have a fighting chance of keeping this thing going
The way I see it is she was enchanted with Prestor thanks to his subtle use of magic but when she got hit with the "you have yo marry him" she snapped out of that little magic spell.
