I'm not so sure about this. I actually found the general knowledge questions here easier than on modern 'Mastermind.' That said, people do definitely pick easier specialist subjects these days (TV shows in particular), though this could be strategic. I doubt we'll see many more categories like "Opera 1500-1900" like the earliest years of the programme.
Some of the questions are too vague. What is a butt and ben, a torchere, persiflage... there's a variety of acceptable answers to each of these and the host invariably wastes time giving further explanation, even after the contestant has given an acceptable answer.

Love your channel 😀 Greetings from Scotland
Never heard of Mastermind but then I'm in the USA now, you're great !!!!!
It's had an incredibly long run on British television .A classic and still running today with some modern changes
Good effort Brian. If I were the American guy I wld want this video taken down.
You were amazing on a great show 😊
Classic Mastermind is brilliant!
Strange how certain terms like 'REM' have now become common knowledge.
I suppose we can thank REM for that.
wow, it's the guy on there who posted this. Cool!
I love that you asked for the question to be repeated, and you had to dumb down the answer
well done Brian
Cool, you smiled!
20:50 This question and answer would also fit the successor of Bill De Blasio.
I’m really interested in doing Mastermind ! Some day ! Ha ha ..
Back in the era of proper handshakes, when it was always touch & go whether you’d get your hand back or not.
Can’t be out here shaking everyone’s hand

Well done
Now just dumbed down for thick modern generation

Don't call the modern generation "thick" until you've improved your writing.

lol
How long did it take Magnus to give the correct answer 'Romeo'?!!!!!! Really wasted time - not very professional...
He worked his ass off. He is as human as the rest of us and deserves to be forgiven a stumble. He started, so he finished.

@@markshere1022 The contestant was a twat. Magnusson could have waffled till the cows came home and 'Juliet' would still have lost.
@@iainmiddleton4175 That's not the point...
@@markshere1022 That was most definitely my point.
Imagine how hard they'd laugh at today's trifling piffle, considered 'specialist knowledge subjects'?!
