I loved this. I recall when the Lotus Elan M100 came out, a Lotus mechanic said to me "you can only get the oil filter out if you are a double-jointed octopus. It is a push fit through the suspension". Familiar theme.
Hi I changed my oil and filter today, you don't have to remove the throttle body, the filter can be removed easily by extracting it to the rear ,over and along the exhaust downpipe (as long the exhaust is cold). I did have the benefit of a vehicle lift, but it does save you time and hassle of removing the throttle body although i did give it a good clean whilst off.
Is your car a LHD or RHD? I've heard the RHD cars can be done from underneath because the steering box is relocated to the right side. On the LHD cars the steering box completely fills the space and there isn't even a way to get a hand on it from below. Thanks for sharing, and for watching!
Thanks man ... I won a DBS and my friend told me that the service center i usually go to sometimes they lie about replacing the oil filter thats why i checked this video so i can mark the filter and make sure they replace it lol .... I trust them though never had an issue i'm just curious... Thanks for the video 👍
There is much discussion about this on the forums. Most seem to think the Ford Performance filter can work as a substitute. Not sure how much real savings there will be for something so important. Hopefully I'll have some news over on the Aston1936.com blog that updates this when I learn some options. Thanks for watching!
