I love this. Beautiful place. Great video. Beautiful drone footage. A paradise. Beautiful memories you shared. Thank you. Beautiful.
The food looks delicious. Thank you for sharing this time with Helen. She is a natural on camera. Gorgeous. You're a lucky man. Wrong time to watch. I am hungry now. Lol. Always lovely to see your family. Enjoyable video. Thank you for sharing. Street food, top-end food. All your videos are great to watch. Liked and shared as always. Have a great day.
This video was a nice change to see. I like either, upscale and street. Thank you.
Glad to see the upscale restaurant review at Rayavadee Railay. Everything looks so delicious! Congrats on going back to your wedding location. Good to see ya bring your wife into your video. Always look forward to your videos mate!
I think it's a great video with the personal family touch. The food looks really delicious. For a special meal like in this case at your wedding location you can well pay more. Thank you for this video!
Such a great soundtrack duchess. Nice change of pace to get you being hi-so!
Yeah, you and your family deserve this nice break, lovely, happy to see them every time. Have a wonderful mini vacation.
Nice video! Of course you should be doing places like this alongside the street food. I (and I guess, a large proportion of your audience) visit Thailand as tourists and weirdly, it can be difficult to find great food in upmarket places. This place looks like the bomb mate - would definitely consider booking a nice evening there.
Wow , looks nice !
Agree , we stay at Peninsula 3 days last time . Everything top class , wonderfull view on the banks of Chao Praya. After that we stay upstreams at a little hotel , cost the same as the breakfast at Peninsula ! Two lovely women run the place . I have a much better feeling at that place !
Lovey video - a nice switch up to what you normally do! It was nice to hear Helen's thoughts, too! Keep it up :)
I think reviews of all types - street, small family owned restaurants, nicer places and total upscale are all worth seeing. One of the great aspect of Thailand is there is a large diversity of small - inexpensive to beautiful top of the line places. Often all of this is side by side. Thai fusion foods too. Share that with us.
Love the waves sound in the background. You’re really in the oceans 🌊
Totally envious (in a nice way 😊) Haven on earth, food and everything else! Thank you for sharing it with your handsome family 🙏
What a great celebration meal in your wedding setting. Lovely to see you, Helen and the little man enjoying yourselves.
The food and the setting looked amazing, well worth it to splash out.
i adore your street food videos and they are the ones i am most likely to go to but 1) there isn't anything wrong with going upmarket now and again, 2) honestly, it isn't that expensive given the food, quality of the food, and ambiance, and, most importantly, 3) seeing a place with special significance to you and helen is wonderful. thank you for sharing it.
Nice you took the better half out again for a treat!
Need to do more of this I reckon!
I realy liked this review i want to see more on the same note!
I have stayed there a few times and it is top notch!
Love the street food videos but these are a nice mix so I hope you keep them up.
Everything at that resort looks sensational 🤩.
Good to see you're getting a well deserved Anniversary break at your Wedding venue. Magic for all 3 of you. Well deserved buddy 🙌
Reminds me of the one time we were treated to a dinner at whatever was the top five-star restaurant in Bangkok. All the food was exquisite, as were all those you guys ate here, and while this lacks all the excitement and adventure of street food, it's perfect for those special times. The foods and presentations here are similar to what I've read of "royal" recipes from the olden days in the most promoted Thai cookbook by that Aussie chef (lol). Enjoy! I'm not even gonna check out the dollar conversion from 1500 baht.
Yeah it definitely doesn’t hit me in the same way one of my back alley joints does!
Light and shade. Its great to see you do a high end place with family as well the 'good value' street food places!
Excellent video Gary!! We been at railey many times and watch this hotel and thought this is way out of our budget. But now i think othervise.
I can see from your face that food is really really good. And totally agree worth of money. Beautiful video. Keep doing both street food and this kind of videos sure👌👌. When your are In holiday you need also 5 star. 👍🙏
Seeing the foods makes me very hungry already. I have to start saving up for a vacatin at Rayavadee resort next time I go hme to Thailand! The price of Bt1,500 per person is a bargain for 5-star resort like this.
3510 baht is a good deal when it is top quality grub and for a special occasion
At last they put a walkway for the arriving boats. They used to make u wade ashore in the past. Not easy in ur bare feet.
Thank you for sharing, lovely to see your family. Do you ever eat together with Helen, without the camera so you can just chill!?
Great video Gary. Don't feel you always have to do street food or go all 5 star either. Do what you feel like. Take us to MK Suki if that floats your boat, my family loves that restaurant for some reason! Love the channel brother.
Not sure about MK for me Eric! But maybe something along the same lines!
Stunning location mate it's nice to see you going to your special place. Some stunning food there especially the lamb dish that looked amazing
Quality video, Gary. Loved the sound design and the B Roll. Excellent work.
Great to see you chilling out with the family. Well deserved break for you all.
Food looked amazing value for that special occasion especially in that setting.
Hi Gary. Thank you for sharing this place will be add to my list. Hoping you and your family enjoy the trip.
Great video will definitely check this place out when we're in Thailand 🇹🇭 more of these type of videos would be good as targets not only those who want to eat street food but also those who would like to have nice meals in a more up market scenery.
Great video Gary and agree with you re that restaurant. Really enjoy your street food videos and more like this on upscale places would also be awesome.
Found you through Paddy recently and considering I’m going back to Thailand in April I much appreciate one the breakdown of all the good to give me ideas of what to try but also the Thai pronunciation. So many people upload their trips but no one breaks it down and explains as well as this channel!
Woww- thanks for sharing this video Gary! So glad to see your lovely wife & your adorable son there with you😊 The food looks amazing & delicious… thanks for describing the flavors on each of he dishes as well as getting Helen’s opinion on them 😊 Awesome vlog!
I'm surprised to see Helen eats something else that is not Pad See Eew. 😁. Good to see a glimpse of the cutest and most adorable Finley. He has grown a bit, hasn't he? The food looks like it's worth the splurge. The view is priceless. Well done, Gary.
@@jomontanee Hi Jo. It's my favorite as well. Have a great day. Sawadee kah.
beautiful environment where you are now, I myself have never been to that place. That food looks very tasty there, yes when I go to Thailand, I always eat like this, I never actually eat on the street.
Excellent video and I like to see you show some of your favorite non-street food. I wish I had more time on my trip to hit southern Thailand in August. Hitting Thailand Phillipenes and Vietnam. Going to have to rewatch and take notes. If you're up for it I would be down to grab a beer and street food.
Let me know when you’re gonna be here mate. Instagram is the best to get me on
Great video and, especially, great dishes, which I will certainly have again with gusto in a short time.
Personally, though, I do prefer your street food reviews. My best wishes of a great time for the three of you! Cheers.
You need to do more videos like these! You're so knowledgeable & likeable- I want to see your channel grow! Your family is beautiful! Always interesting to hear Helen's point of view. Much love from Canada! Do you offer food tours in Bangkok?
Fantastic setting 👏 bucket list place to treat my girl. Gary what are you doing? You are costing me a fortune 555
Thanks Gary. Railay will be back in Jan. Thanks for showing us a place on the island we haven’t stayed at the Diamond,Bhu nga Thani , and The sand and sea. The detail is like no other.
Rayavadee Resort well represented, loved all the good upscale dining experience too. You should come here every year for your wedding anniversary, wife approved I am sure.❤
Last time my wife and I went here there was some kind of riots going on in Bangkok and a general "do not travel" warning was issued. We were almost the only people in Railay. It was an unusual but magical experience, everywhere we ate they kept giving us multiple free dishes because they wanted to use up the food that the restaurants had bought. I virtually rolled out of the place. Great memories.
I want to visit this restaurant these foods look delicious. Thank you for share good place for visit.
Hi, everyone! Issues on Paddy's live now.. seems to be the platform..
The Grotto? Sadly the restaurant Frog and Catfish is still closed; a must try/see.
We did get married in the grotto but this is the Thai restaurant next door!
Looks like an incredible place! I live in Melbourne and eating out here is soooo expensive- 1500thb seems like a bargain in comparison! I’ll be in Krabi in December so might have to check this out, thanks for the recommendation 😊
Totally get how this place made it to your channel. Special that you had your honeymoon, but the food looks special and top-quality, and the location.....it is difficult to name many as special. Anyway, good to have a mix of up-market places, but Thai food or southeast-asian food for that matter really is street side. Should you want a list for Manila, let me know, ill throw a few in other than the restaurant i manage ;) Enjoying your channel more and more!
Yes. More upmarket reviews please.
Three grand great value, and don't forget you were served by a nurse!
Hi Gary. Greetings from Australia. Love your Chanel. Any chance of you making a Thailand drinks series. I know you love Thai tea and dislike sweet things but a drink series would be epic as there is not much content on them. If you watch josieliftsthings UA-cam a young Aussie lady made one but you do more detailed videos. Butterfly pea drink, salted plum just to name a couple of many many drinks unique to Thailand.
Just a suggestion. Either way keep up the great work. I can’t wait till I get back in a couple of months. 🙏
Hey John. Yeah I know Josie's channel, I'll look at the drinks one. I can do that for sure
Thanks Gary, I’m looking forward to it. I actually note your recommendations and can’t wait to be in Bangkok and Phuket town with my family to explore.
🙏
That sounds like a very cool experience to get married there! Make content you enjoy! I like good food no matter the location. Lol
just got back from rayavadee what a wonderful resort and the staff so wonderful ate at the grotto fantastic and also krua phra nang but i think they have changed the menu as they didnt have a set meal and the tom yam soup was just served in a bowl with just prawns but still delicious
Is there a restaurant inside the famous grotto? I was wondering
Yes but only barbecue set menu for nearly 4000 baht per person. This was much better
Great vlog! Imagine what you get in the UK for 2 people in that awesome setting?
i only had my first bai-liaeng pad kai 4-5 years ago despite being an old thai guy. it was so delicious and now it's one of my favorite. i couldn't believe i ignored this dish all that time.
Hey Gary, was this The Grotto at Rayavadee or one of their other restaurants at the resort? If different, how would you compare these two restaurants? Stepping up the production value with the new hand model and camera woman! 😉
This was in the Krua Pranong restaurant and in my opinion, this was much better. The grotto is a barbecue set menu and it was ok. But the grotto is in a cave so the setting is unreal
When is Helen's channel starting? Articulate, knows what she likes and insightful food descriptions 😁
Just went to Krabi for a 2nd time but stayed in Ao nang, amazing place to be, and relatively cheap too!
Also, if you stayed in Railey did u visit the bioluminescence? its beautiful and under a starry sky. just 2-5 mins boat trip away.
Good man Gary tanx. What curry paste did they use in lamb curry? Tanx
No worries. It’s a classic southern Thai paste www.seriouseats.com/gaeng-khua-prik-si-krong-moo-southern-thai-curry-with-pork-ribs-5191917#toc-the-curry-paste
Great review ... There is always an occasion to do something special or just spoil yourself....I agree @ around $70AUD per person it's great value for high end quality food .... In OZ we would be happy to fork out over $100AUD and not have that great location....save $$$ per year enjoying great value for money street food and spoil yourself in locations like this with the savings?
Dale (Perth Australia)
What a setting for a Restaurant 🤦♂️The food, The price ,i'd pay that ,only the once mind 55 Free Mosquito repellent you say ,well worth the money then 😁.But seeing your better half and the best looking boy in Thailand tops it bless him 😁 Thanks Gary 🙏
do you have to stay here to eat?
อาหารไทยเน้น สัมผัสครบทุกรสชาด ในคำเดียว
@@theroamingcook Wow, I know you talk Thai very good but never know your can write and read Thai too.
Just guessing from your sentence and I guess you didn't use a google translate. Am I right! Lol
Always love your contents my friend.
For the view it's worth it...,
I don't know how much you earn every month with circa 30,000 subs + views but it can't be easy.... I like restaurant reviews, but it is alot if Capital outlay for you.... So a balance to break up the monotony of just street food, because a lot if your viewers l am sure like to eat in restaurants when they come to Thailand.
It’s a struggle for sure Peter but I’m doing something I enjoy for the first time ever so I don’t mind!
We want you to save your money🤏🤌.
LOL. He said in his livestream that he was willing to spend more if the service is up to par.
@@jomontanee Yeah but he is a Vlogger starting out and he must feel the pinch having to eat in expensive restaurants.... If he was Mark Weins or Sonny, he'll yeah...
@@theroamingcook How about branching out and offering street food tours. Check on the legalities though..... 🍲🦐🦑🥘
Funny to watch how uncomfortable you are there. It's obvious you did it based on requests and that is very thoughtful of you. Also, tells me you know who you are and that you know what you like. Different strokes for different folks. Now, get your ass back to the streets, where the real people live and thrive. No pretending there. Peace out brother.
Of course I prefer to be out on the streets 😂 but I can do this once in a while 😎
Good looking family bud. Love eating/staying at places like this every once in a while. I have to admit though, I seem to have the best times with locals and what they eat, ie... street food/home cooked food. Another great vid bud, keep it up
Helen is a real natural on the camera . ‘The Roaming Cooks’ coming soon 🤔🤔😂
Haha I know but she hates it! 😅
