Hello Elvy, I am a new subscriber and new to this plant. I purchased it about 3 - 5 months ago and when it first arrived, I didn't think the plant was going to make it. It has and started to grow really nicely. I want to fill in my pot to make this plant more full and then put it on a trellis so that it can flow downward. Your plant looks really nice on that trellis. It is good to know this plant is an easy propagator b/c I would like to be able to keep the plant even if the mother plant doesn't make it. Thanks for sharing.
Elvy I love your channel. You gave very good instructions which I appreciate. You were so cute when you said " they look like jewelry". I agree♡ Just got 2 new plants and now know how to propagate. Thank You. :-)
Love your videos, so much detail on what to do. I got an Amazonica last week, neve saw a plant die so fast in my life. It was a vine with a root, but as soon as I took it out of the bag with moss, leaves fell, etc. They sent me another one and I'm going to do exactly what you have showed.
It’s come in with soil? When u fist get it give it a lot of humidity, after it acclimate with your home you can grow it as normal house plant. I let it dry between water
Your plant looks very healthy and pretty! Thank you for sharing your way to propagate. Your videos are very informative and have potential to grow. I have been searching for care instructions of this plant but could find only videos about how to propagate this plant. Do you have any video talking about how to care Begonia vine/Cissus Discolour?
Keira Yau it’s very easy plant to me. I pot it in well drain mix. Water then the top dry out. Keep in high humidity area. I treat just like other regular house plant. No direct sun light
ELVY!!! I haven’t seen you since college/AK Psi days!! Found this out of happenstance and this was tremendously helpful! Great job with your channel and I hope you’re doing well!
I got one of these plants in early spring and has grown like crazy in a hanging basket I have outside!!!! Thank you for this!!!! I will have to definitely propagate!!! Those cuttings look beautiful!!!! Thank you for sharing!!
Hi Elvy, love your presentation and guidance. If we can’t get Super Thrive water, can we just use tap water and maybe dilute in some growth hormone powder to the water before soaking into the sphagnum moss ? Many thanks in advance
I just bought these and it’s so beautiful! I would like to try your propagation method in moss. Just want to make I got it right, you place them inside the ziplock and then put on heat mat under grow lights?
Yes it’s but I did mine during winter time so I think u don’t need to add heat mat if your temperature above 70. Also do water prop on the top cutting 😊
Thank you for sharing! I have two pots of Cissus Discolor each 1.8 m height but never propagated them before. Dumb question but what kind of water do you use there? Thanks
Hi elvy, i tried putting my cutting in spagmoss and enclosed it in a container. The leaves just turned black, do you know what probably went wrong? Thanks!
Propagated the leaves without the stem because an other UA-camr told me te do that..... but i don't know if it will grow new leaves without the stem. What do you think
Moss in ziplock bag is a great idea. Thanks!
I just got a cutting of this beautiful plant from a friend. Thank you so much for this really informative video!
Thank you for watching 😊
I love the cissus!!! It is as beautiful as jewelry!!! Thanks for showing us how you propagated it. You did such an awesome job!!!
Thank you :)

oh yah get it! This plan do not like to ship, I'm lucky to find it locally too. It is fairly easy for me :)
Hello Elvy!!! thanks for sharing 🤗💚 Could you tell me if you add something else to the peat moss, like perlite, humus, etc. or just peat moss☺️

@@Elvykiung My Cissus hated being in the house. I put her outside in a filtered sun area. She loves it !!!

Elvy Kiung thank you!!! Do I need grow lights or it’s ok as long as it gets some medium light indoor?
Better to have indirect blight light or under the grow light 😊
Elvy Kiung thank you Elvy!!! I just got the super thrive and the moss! I hope it would be successful 🙏
I just bought my growlights. How long do you put them under it? And what distance? Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! I have two pots of Cissus Discolor each 1.8 m height but never propagated them before. Dumb question but what kind of water do you use there? Thanks
regular tap water :)
@@Elvykiung Thank you! 🌱💚
I love your little pot sized trellis. Please share where you got it!? Also, now I must have this plant lol
I got it at local nursery, it is so expensive I have to go twice to be able make the purchase lol
@@Elvykiung wow!
Hi elvy, i tried putting my cutting in spagmoss and enclosed it in a container. The leaves just turned black, do you know what probably went wrong? Thanks!
it could be rot from too much moisture
Can I add some mosquito bit to the water? I have a lot of fungus gnats that will love these warm and moist propagations
Yes. I drop few pieces in watering can 😊
Thank you :) can you share some tips of its care ? Thanks
I keep them in bright indirect light, keep the soil moist. I pot them in cactus mix and water once the top soil feel dry.
@@Elvykiung awesome thanks so much !
love it
Thank you!
Hi, I ordered a tiny cissus discolor. It pretty much died in the mail, USPS took too long. Do you sell any of your rooted cuttings?
I sell it but not ship them. My local home depot just start selling it, you may have luck soon :)
hi there :) thanks for your video. Do you have to make sure to root the proper side? What if i get the sides confused ^^''
I make sure the moss not touch the leaf too much, the pant root very easy with high humidity even without moss lol
Propagated the leaves without the stem because an other UA-camr told me te do that..... but i don't know if it will grow new leaves without the stem. What do you think
Hi, I didn't get what you were saying about the water. What were you saying that was added to the water?
superthrive solution
What is the name of media you use to grow roots in the plastic bag?
Sphagnum moss
what is in the water that you wet the moss with? super dry?
SuperThrive :) I use concentration one and diluted to 1/3 strength
What kind of water did you use?
Are u exposing a node or just the stem ?
I bury the node and the stem in the moss, use close zip lock container to keep the humidity high
Do cissus discolor like to be be root bound?
And any updates on the soil propagation?
hi, I'm not sure if it like be root bound but I haven't repot it since. The soil propagation has already growing and sold :)
Does the soil propagation worked? Do you have a part two of this video, like for update?thanks 😊
yes it works and i sold them already ... I think it work in spring in summer I'll be recommend water propagation or sphagnum.
Can you propagate it in water?? Thanks
yes you can! I have some was propagate in water :)
Can I purchase cuttings from you in the US? I can not find a good source right now.
I don't ship begonias
@@Elvykiung awwwww your cuttings looks so well taken care of. I appreciate the consideration. Cissus discolor.is so hard to come by lately
