The before and after shots are really showing how massive of a difference this reno was. Before it looked uncomfortable for the eye, but after is super relaxing and stunning
Also what happened to all the brand new materials that were perfectly fine that they paid for. I know this channel is about helping companies sell more home goods but they need to start addressing sustainability issues in the interior decorating space.
@@socialjusticejewelry this is why they need designers when building in the first place, or even people who think hey why don't we move the sink here etc. to make more space. lol.
I absolutely love Tara's designs! She has such an amazing taste and attention to details. They elevated this place to a completely different level. Love love love!
Wow, definitely one of my favs in awhile! I love the smart oval drop ceiling solution to the lamp, and the antique mirror to draw in the exterior context! Absolutely nailed the textures on this one, awesome job!
The curved drop ceiling ties in perfectly to the space rather than a rectangle one, it works well with the rest of the elements, thanks to the smoke detector for changing up the ceiling plan.
So serene and pillowy (is that a word? Guess so, or else I fooled autocorrect). I love, love the furniture. That ottoman in the middle of the four chairs is so good.
The "before" was already functional but what they did after was gorgeous. Color tone is very relaxing as well as their choice of furnitures. I might just add some plants here and there because I like to ruin good design 😅
Maybe except of the dining table, before it looked really out of place, now it's way more functional and more pleasing to the eye with how it's situated
This condo is beautifully and cleverly designed. Not my taste as it appears to lack any of the personal items this couple must surely have collected over the years. I am definitely more of a maximalist, but I can see how someone who likes that neutral look would love it. Very, very beautiful!
I’m a designer and am all for making a space a more accurate reflection of the clients’ personality and tastes. However, I’m dismayed by the wastefulness of projects such as this. How much virgin material ended up in landfills as a result of the replacement of the already new finishes? Design must always make conservation and sustainability a necessary part of the challenge, if it’s truly progressive and modern.
Agreed! With my client's we either send it to a resale shop, a women's shelter or a furniture bank for families/individuals trying to get back on their feet. However, with most of her design being just replacement with the same idea just a different fabric, she could've recovered and restuffed a good portion of the items. They could've replaced fewer items that way. Also, how the heck did they convince the condo board to have an open fire fireplace! My condo board would never!
I love the warm, soft atmosphere that the colour, boucle chairs and window sheers create. The oval dropped ceiling is a brilliant idea. As much as I like the ingenious hidden folding doors, I can't imagine ever closing them while entertaining, and the sink in the island is a magnet for mess and clutter. Beautiful banquet - haven't seen antiqued mirrors for a few decades but it works beautifully here.
I think you need a bi-level island with the sink separated from the rest of the counter/eating area. The splash and the mess could be a bit hidden that way.
Dreamy space, and I love the kitchen! For myself, I would add a little more contrast with all the beige, like even some darker neutrals or more black. Maybe a few pops of color. But, it still looks beautiful! Wish we could have seen this beautiful view, she talked about.
Stunning design! I love seeing condo transformations that don't invite a crazy structural re-do of the layout. I can actually take inspiration from this and apply elements of it to my own apartment. Thanks for sharing this lovely makeover 🙂 In future videos, it would be really useful to include cost range for the whole project.
I like the mood and the style. I 'm only concerned about the upholstered wall in the bedroom. How would you clean it when it will get dirty? Can you remouve the fabric for washing? However the condo looks beautiful
The butler galley is genius and so much more functional than a second kitchen of wasted space that no one really goes into cause it's a glorified cupboard lol
too cramed, too much furniture in the space. counted about 20 sitting spaces... the style is nice though. and....how many would be so happy to own the "old kitchen" etc...? what a waste.
This is a slap in the face to anyone trying to save the planet. Everything was replaced that was brand new! Give me a break. Furthermore literally everything is beige. This is not design
I want to know the color of the curtain and the what type of white paint that the designer has applied to the wall. Could you please share that? This transformation is absolutely gorgeous.😊
The overall design is very nice but if there's such a thing as too neutral, this is it. The place needs a sharp pop of colour - maybe electric blue or deep red accessories would make it more interesting.
@@merrywalsh2809 Not according to other comments. These people are wasteful and frankly gross. This video is almost as bad as the woman renovating her temporary house she built on her lawn while she renovates her main house.
This is such a wonderful renovation! Not a fan of the bed or side lamps on the wall together…something about I looks cluttered or out of scale….just doesn’t look right.
The transformation is awesome but the space is too busy and too "white". That being said, it's very difficult to capture a three dimensional space with photos or videos and the look and feel in person would be 1000 times better than a video.
@Calvin Liu I understood that the owner's bought this condo off the plan mainly to secure the lakeside location and beautiful views. They were busy with family life in the 6,000sq' former home for a few years while this complex was being built. It seems they downsized to the condo with some of their previous furnishings, lived with those for a time - and then realised they wanted more from their new home. They obviously had the budget to do it this way. Plus great trust in leaving decisions to the designer.
I love neutral designs but everything is way too white here. Beige grey camel and rusty colors are considered neutral as well!… even simple use of plants could have add element of excitement to the house!
You would look at the before pics and think nothing needs changing but WOW ...what an amazing transformation....this Designer is so so talented.
Agreed. The before looked great to me! But the after is very bright & cheery, if one is into that kind of thing, lol.
The before and after shots are really showing how massive of a difference this reno was. Before it looked uncomfortable for the eye, but after is super relaxing and stunning
Even though I like grays and blues, the feeling of calmness that this style evokes makes me really like it even more.
Replaced everything in entire condo but kept a vanity “for budget purposes.” Haha
🙆 even I was wondering same... 😂😂
Also what happened to all the brand new materials that were perfectly fine that they paid for. I know this channel is about helping companies sell more home goods but they need to start addressing sustainability issues in the interior decorating space.
😂

Agree 👍
So she said she started with a white box.....and in the end she ended up with....a white box. Exciting stuff.
I cannot understand how this type of simple color palette (or lack thereof) wouldn't get boring to live with very quickly.
Haha!
But a soft white box now.
Very beautiful... can't imagine replacing everything in an almost new condo.
Love the texture in this neutral color palette. Love the banquette idea too.
Just when I thought I was so over all white interiors.... This home design is perfect in every way.
I love Neutrals...but, this is a bit too bland.
extremely bland….the whole condo feels like it’s about to float away….
And what's going to happen when the first person spills food or drink on all the endless white???
Absolutely love this transformation (and a previous one by this designer that was featured on this channel). Stunning work!

Beautiful no doubt but why does everything mostly have to be white? Neutrals are amazing but can get a bit boring.
Love how textures have been used in an otherwise neutral space
So serene and pillowy (is that a word? Guess so, or else I fooled autocorrect). I love, love the furniture. That ottoman in the middle of the four chairs is so good.
Definitely a beautiful major gorgeous upgrade.. !! Color pallet is just awesome to compliment this really nice Condo..

I love the way she kindly explained how awful and tragic the builder-basic design was without seeming rude in the slightest! 😃
This is my kind of style! Love it
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS - AND ACCOMMODATING - IN EVERY WAY!
We have to admit, storage like these can elevate your house quality to its max level. 💯

YES!
Exactly. Wish this channel would discuss what happens to the perfectly good but clients didn't like materials.

I was especially thinking of the existing marble wall tile in the bathroom. I can’t imagine that those were salvaged
AGREED!
Obsessed. This design studio does some spectacular work.

The open flame is such a fire hazard 🤦♂️

Amazing transformation- great job very sophisticated as well as calm and soothing interiors.
love it! Simple yet interesting, chic with a tinge of traditional & lux. all the textures and blend of neutrals. pops of black & greys wow!
This is a beautiful home. Love all the rooms and designs. 👍🥰
Too monochromatic., especially the main living spaces. Love all the pocket/sliding doors. Love hidden design ideas.
I was wondering if they don't plan on having grandkids in this space?
@@Mmeme2023 yeah, so unrealistic. Of course these videos are about selling the dream. But when you can poke holes at it, what’s left is skepticism.

FAVORITE tour to date!!!
LOVE IT ! such a beautiful space , so elegant and comfy
I like the mood and the style. I 'm only concerned about the upholstered wall in the bedroom. How would you clean it when it will get dirty?
Can you remouve the fabric for washing? However the condo looks beautiful
Steam cleaning. Very easy.
I really love the color palette. So inspiring for my future project. Thank you 🙏🏼
white = palette lul
Love the neutral tones
The butler galley is genius and so much more functional than a second kitchen of wasted space that no one really goes into cause it's a glorified cupboard lol
CLEAN, RELAXING, ELEGANT, GOOD JOB
Sky white marble?! YASS.
That's what I call a luxury condo. pleasant...
That tall lamp is 🔥
I love the work the firm does. I wish they would share more details on product descriptions (colours to sourcing).
Top notch ❤
First off, stunning! I was hoping for more storage solutions with style
Simply exquisite!!
I liked it before with the dark cabinets and island. The tv area is much better now.
Stunning makeover👌🏽👌🏽
Love this channel
You took it from a box to a home, impressive.
too cramed, too much furniture in the space. counted about 20 sitting spaces... the style is nice though.
and....how many would be so happy to own the "old kitchen" etc...? what a waste.
Stunning 🤩
Stunning!
Beautiful
I like it!!!! So beautiful!!!
Just wow 😍
Beautiful magazine worthy space. BUT reads like another pretty beige box to me.....
Gorgeous!
This is a slap in the face to anyone trying to save the planet. Everything was replaced that was brand new! Give me a break. Furthermore literally everything is beige. This is not design
You're that angry?
Save the planet??? Gimme a break.
Having 2 adjacent sitting areas in a small condo for empty nesters is kinda useless...
Not all empty nesters shun all social contact. Maybe they have lots of family and friends visiting and entertain for others
Just gorgeous! I love it. The only problem I see, is the cleaning issue, light colors just show every tiny spot immediately….
It’s all performance fabrics now, and wow, do they perform! Take a damp white cloth, and they wipe clean.
I love how they said fuck those kids :D No grandchildren in this house :D
Beautiful! Can you share the counter stools and coffee tables sources?
It's funny how she says that the kitchen "wasn't offensive."
God for it we see a working station.
So, tranquil. Any idea where I can find those coffee tables?
Can you link the sofa in the tv room? Love your creativity and all of the hidden storage!💗
You guys did a great job on the apartment. I really do appreciate your sense of style, but what the h are you wearing?
A very nice leather romper (I think is the term) why? 🤨
@@surveyor1515 and.. ,ahem.. hot.
great job

Really great design features! I loved the folding doors in the kitchen and the sliding door to cover the TV. Very cleaver!
The overall design is very nice but if there's such a thing as too neutral, this is it. The place needs a sharp pop of colour - maybe electric blue or deep red accessories would make it more interesting.
Why is the tv sooo high?
Maybe to not catch fire from that open fire place 😅
Love it….would love to do that in my space. I wish they would say what the budget was.
Not usually keen on neutrals but this was simply stunning! 👌🙌👌
fantastic job!!! how long does a project like this take??
Can you please share the paint colour of kitchen and dining room walls? thank you
Is it just me or were the befores already really nice. Like really really nice just change up pillows and throws and knick knacks for a change.
It’s just you.
@@merrywalsh2809 Not according to other comments. These people are wasteful and frankly gross. This video is almost as bad as the woman renovating her temporary house she built on her lawn while she renovates her main house.

Where are those long thin coffee tables from 😍
The counter stools are fabulous! Would love to know the source.
I would love to know where they are from also!
this is b e a Utiful
Love it
Love the design but the uptalk was a tad irritating.
What a waste for everything that was already there and still brand new.
Glad a number of folks said this. Maybe they will address this issue in their videos or stop featuring designers that do this.
The transformation is awesome but the space is too busy and too "white". That being said, it's very difficult to capture a three dimensional space with photos or videos and the look and feel in person would be 1000 times better than a video.
They literally replaced everything. At that point i wish the designer worked with the builder during construction. This is wasteful for all parties
Exactly! Hope they address sustainability in this industry more on this channel.

i liked the before more ngl
Where are real plants?
you really have to have money to remove great looking marble for more great looking marble
This place seems very shadowy. I wonder what exposure it has
This is like if Nancy Meyers movie was set in a hospital.
