It's such a cool ship. We should be able to make more of them, fully designing them once we repair it. Makes sense that once learning everything about it, we are able to replicate it's design.
Deathjaw41 yeah, they should make it so that if you manage to defeat and repair tbe dreadnought, then the technology used to make it would take a lot less time than it usually would, cause you could just study off of the ship's design and technology.
Eh, sorry, but nope. We're just repairing an oversized ship. Building our own ships of this size isn't supposed to be a good decision. Consider it as if you reoutfitted WW2 era superbattleship with nowaday tech. It's cool, very expensive and nowaday cruisers are still more effective per mass/cash.
Considering how much the rest of the Galaxy pays them for their services, I am pretty much certain they are comfortable extracting resources from the stone age rabble we are. ;)
Eh, most of the Guardians have pretty disappointing rewards for the investment required to beat them. The curators however are making a killing selling information about them to younger more foolish empires.
@@Nukestarmaster They probebly do not want to repeat the failur of Master of Orion 2 then you can blitz "The Gardian" using a relative smale number of frigates using low tech Gyro Destabilizers (that make a smale amount of hull damage) to spin the Gardian to death, The Gardian have good shelds and super armor but only a "normal" battelship hull. Then use the reward Loknar ship (Battelship that have the best technology) to blitz down everybady else.
Based on how the Curators explain the galaxy, the reason they don't establish themselves as an empire is because they've been witness to the rise and fall of countless empires throughout the millennia. That no matter how great and grand an empire is; eventually it'll collapse from some sort of crisis. This is why they just choose to be a small organization that sells information. It's a sweet deal when you think about it; they are too valuable to be wiped out because of the techs they know, and they are also small enough to not get in the way of warring empires. They just sit back and relax to observe the galaxy for many years.
Attacked with 13k. My neighbours then saw my fleetpower ceased to exist. Mistakes were made. Dreadnought now when repaired gives the same FTL drive as the repairing race.
r3negade37 Yah I just did something like that with around 16k fleet power. Major mistakes were made, and now I’m looking through my fleet design to see what would work better.
well, it gets blown into pieces then it gets rebuilt by engineers who, at best, have well educated guesses how things work. it cannot be as strong as it was but yeah, it could be stronger than 3k. game balance, I guess
i could already hear the currator's advertisement... "automatic behemotical ship plagued your system? dread not! we got the perfect tool for that! only for 5000 energy!!!"
I honestly don't consider it that bad. Sure, you can't really merge it with other fleets, but if you are like me and don't really utilise the engineering research all that much AND like the idea of a fast but very strong response ship/fleet (I do that often), you will find this quite useful. Having a single ship with a jump drive can be immensely useful, especially considering its tech. You are in a war and defeat an enemy fleet, but it manages to jump away but you don't feel like chasing it? Dreadnought! A small enemy fleet harassing the hell out of your fringe systems? Dreadnought! I honestly like it!
+Red Yeah, the restored dreadnought could be used as a powerful rapid response force. An example could be if one of your planets rebelled against you, and tried attack a star system in your empire. You could deploy the dreadnought to crush the rebellion.
i was playing with my friend and i rebuilt this ship without his knowledge and it just so happened that he went to war with me using corvette spam and he was winning until he got to my capital and let me say that cotton candy reference is very spot on
so the relic dreadnaught is the closest for us to obtain the titan-style ship.. i can imagine that eventually someone is gonna have a mod that provide us the construction of this unique relic-class dreadnaught XD
seeing as it's got "legal technology", I'm assuming a Battleship would pretty much be equal or almost equal to this Dreadnought. This event is just a way to get a late game battleship early. And maybe with a couple additional slots for its weapons and utilities
ASpec oh. Maybe I should go get mine then.... I'm just happy it doesn't rape Warp empires like the Dimensional Horror.... also, I don't know if you noticed, but sometimes in the middle of a Stellaris campaign, the Galactic Core becomes a deep blue... any idea what that is?
Man these are amazing videos you putting out! I was up till 5 in the morning watching all your mechanic videos keep up the awesome work sir I learned so much!
ASpec I was trying to look on wiki for all the new things leviathan adds but I could not find a detailed list, just curious where did you find out about this stuff? I played for 11 hours without seeing one guardian.
Only 3k fleet power :o???? Unless fleet power has been completely re-done thats an in-significant amount of fleet for such a big investment :/ These new guardians seem really good game play wise, but until sectors are improved and more depth added to the game Ill leave it be for now
It's much weaker when you have it than when its a guardian. This is never gonna take down 8/9K fleets on its own in your hands.... I tested and it couldn'T even handle 4k on its own...
I had a war going on with one of my rivals. my main fleet was ready to enter their home system and cut the war short, but it accidentally jumped into the dreadnought system and got utterly butt fucked... half my force was wiped out, and the opponent caught my troop transports off guard. luckily a federation member was there to reinforce me for a while, but the enemy had time to prepare as well... that was a dark time indeed...
The best part about this thing is that it now counts as a titan and if you’ve built up to your titan cap, repairing the dreadnaught allows you to exceed that cap
I have a galaxy with 7 enemy empires. I am at my final empire and realize my dreadnought was destroyed, I’ve been having it ever since I finished off my first empire. My question is, how can I get it back? I’m not sure when I lost it, but I haven’t seen it since my third empire, and I would hate to go back through the pain of killing everyone again
Merging the dreadnought with your fleet is the worst thing you can do. Have it just ahead of your main fleet to be a damage sink, then retreat the dreadnought as needed. This way, while fighting a FE or some massive doomstack, they are concentrating on taking down a single, highly resistant target, leaving your corvettes free to put the hurt on them.
SPOILER!!!! Solution to Jump Drive Problem I believe that it is possible to get a jump technology from the dimensional horror so you will need to kill that and then build a fleet with jump drives that may be compatible with the dreadnought. However, I have not tried this yet so I can't confirm whether it works or not.
This thing is so much better now. You repair with a (timed) construction ship project and it seamlessly replaces a titan in one of your fleets. No aura but slightly better firepower
I wish the dreadnought had a modifier that influences empire happiness, essentially of you have in orbit around your home planet your empire will be happy. I would like that, it would mean it has a purpose despite your tech and it makes sense since taking that thing down is impressive.
Honestly it's kind of a see-saw of a decision. On one side: massive bonus to resources that can be used elsewhere but no super ship. The other side: a powerful ship that can do a lot of good but once it's gone it is gone. That's not even getting into the cost of restoring it plus having to deal with anyone who might want a piece of that action.
thanks ASpec i started a game yesterday and i found the dreadnought and the fortress in systems right next to each other as well has a ring world from that mod that allows you to rebuild the ring world
sooo...that dlc thing was basicly ''we added a quest/guild mechanic + dreadnaught stylish monsters and ships ? also , generic battleships have average 3 k points ,so haveing things that supposed to be Ages more advanced then you or evolved or what ever have the same point vaule ..well ,even if its 'restored/salvaged' the hole point of such an operation should be to re-use at least parts of its Ancient systems and at the same time learn enugh to be able to maintain and replicate them.
Donutgames00 aye , after all even if you arent restoreing it to prime status , the hole point of slavageing operation would be to restore something from it that even if you can learn to maintain it so cant you fabricate it yet
I wish they introduced the dreadnought as a ship class. Similar to the titan but where the titan would (in my head) focus on offense the dreadnought would focus on defense, maybe with a new XL slot for shields and armor.
The funny thing is, almost every Leviathan is within my territory (the stelar devourer and the dimensional horror is within a nearby rivals space) but I still can't believe that they are all near my start system
Ok I just 2 Fleets one with 22K power and another with 10.5 K power and I had the 25% boost on both times I’ve done it and I’ve lost both times how much power do I need?
One thing I wish that the 1.5 banks update will adress is new textures on all ships and stations, currently if you ask me anyways, it seem like the Dreadnought has better texture quality then something like a mammalian battleship.
Anyone knows what's wrong with its flight speed? On my previous save I had made a special 100k fleet for it, it was the gem of my empire. But on my current save it slows the rest of the armada so much when flying out of combat (not FTL, just flying around), that I am considering making a small 20-30k fleet for it to keep my tributaries and vassals under control.
In my playthroughs I've noticed that putting the Dread into your fleet seems to trigger the checks for the Unbidden invasion. So far in any game I've taken the Dread the Unbidden are the crisis that spawns.
I just checked the code regarding the Unbidden crisis events and the Dread. There's no cross referencing for either. So from a script point of view, no the dread has no impact on the Unbidden spawn rate. I think you just got unlucky.
Are those the vanilla graphics and weapon effects / post-processing effects with the latest patch? I dont remember the game looking THAT good before =)
I'd like to request the Dimensional Horror next, because I'm stuck on how I'm meant to actually kill it without it pounding my fleet inside out before it even gets in firing range. I tried throwing a 15k fleet at it and it didn't even scratch it, what numbers should I be throwing at it?
you can merge this ship with your fleet, when you have the same jump drive. i had that and it worked. but its not everytime the same jump drive. for me it was the PSI jump drive and i had it already researched.
it would be better to be cheaper but you would just get empty shell and you would have to put your own weapons on and and have the ability to upgrade it too.
I gotta say In my game I got lucky. I got bubbles, I got gray, and now I have a dreadnaught all in the same game. And I got them all super early in the game.
My favorite situation with this thing was when I managed to colonize one of the planets in the system it was guarding. It took some careful timing and I couldn't build a spaceport but that colony was also completely safe from invasion for the entirety of the early-mid game. :P
I just started playing Stellaris recently, so I don't know if it used to be weaker and the patches / DLCs / whatever boosted it up, but it completely wiped my 20K fleet without even going down a tick past it's shields... Feels like I need at least 100k to take it.
I think their might be a long way to do it, but i dont have the dlc yet so cant verify 1: open console {default `} 2: AI off {command: ai} 3: command: play [index] (00 is you, if you have 17 generated empires, 18 would be fallen empires, then things like ancient mining drones, crystalline entities, void clouds, pirates, etc (Guardians might be here, or they could be in their own category), then you have pre space-age civs, in the middle of those you might have crisis IDs,) 4: check the ship class (select ship/station/whatever) And look for ______-class 5: go back to your empire {play 00} 6: add_ship _______ 7: turn AI back on (optional)
They should buff it by giving an empire bonus of 10 diplomatic weight, or let you redesign its weapons and deffeces, in a perfect world both be ausw I love it but its useless basically a trophy
I don't mind the performance. xD But getting 1,000 stars gets me all the guardians? Also what are the confirmed guardians aside from the ones you mentioned? I hear no one talks about a Pirate Guardian, the Crystal Guardian, and the Mining Guardian and I don't know their mechanics.
"Tamed" one... 4.9k firepower only... but holy cow! 10k Shield with giant hitbox protects a fleet of 30k firepower! A great Guardian!! And had no jump drive... was 60 after the gamestart tho
got the galaxy edition on sale (for lower than base game standard price) and didnt read the fine print. I thought it would be a version that came with the DLC being priced at £50! (not sale price) BUT NO! it just has all the standard "pre-order bonus bullshit I have come to expect from game companies with multiple "editions".
Like with many things, their position is randomized. You'll have to send some ships out and scout around your galaxy for them. They have a 10k station in some random system.
Saw it in the beginning of my empire. Attacked with only 2k corvettes. Rivals saw my firepower dropped. My empire was raped on all sides. It was not a fun experience.
So i heard you said 12k I attacked with 22 k I lost... Um, are you SURE this thing can be beaten by 12k, cause that fleet was mostly geared to kill large ships too.
So that's what that was? I killed it easily with a few cruisers that were at 4k fleet power very early into a game. However, I got no pop-ups or anything about it. I just killed it because it killed one of my science ships.
It's such a cool ship. We should be able to make more of them, fully designing them once we repair it. Makes sense that once learning everything about it, we are able to replicate it's design.

Either that OR we get a new ship schematic which is a weaker version of the original.
+zam023 That would be an excellent idea. The weaker versions of the dreadnought could be used to bolster it with an "escort".
I believe Dreadnoughts are on the table for possible things to add to the game later on, but nothing concrete yet.
With all of these Guardian-killing devices and high-level knowledge, it's a wonder the Curators haven't taken over the galaxy yet.

what are the commands to spawn the guardians? also is there an easy and fast way to make fallen empires awaken
I think their might be a long way to do it, but i dont have the dlc yet so cant verify
1: open console {default `}
2: AI off {command: ai}
3: command: play [index] (00 is you, if you have 17 generated empires, 18 would be fallen empires, then things like ancient mining drones, crystalline entities, void clouds, pirates, etc (Guardians might be here, or they could be in their own category), then you have pre space-age civs, in the middle of those you might have crisis IDs,)
4: check the ship class (select ship/station/whatever) And look for ______-class
5: go back to your empire {play 00}
6: add_ship _______
7: turn AI back on (optional)
Void Imperial I already tried that. I also tried using the spawn entity command and the entity tool tips or whatever. I didn't have any luck.
nvm, digging through the game files I found out that you can spawn them, and you'll be able to control them as your own fleet.
Try add_ship Type 14
It spawns the repaired dreadnaught for me but it is visually bugged, I dont see it . Its the same for you?
They should buff it by giving an empire bonus of 10 diplomatic weight, or let you redesign its weapons and deffeces, in a perfect world both be ausw I love it but its useless basically a trophy
just went after it with 14k fleet and the dazzler and got wrecked
Is there a way to get EVERY guardian in a galaxy (I mean by manipulating the codes within the game)?
+Jethro Amper there's a mod, or you can run the largest galaxy, though this can impact performance.
I don't mind the performance. xD
But getting 1,000 stars gets me all the guardians? Also what are the confirmed guardians aside from the ones you mentioned? I hear no one talks about a Pirate Guardian, the Crystal Guardian, and the Mining Guardian and I don't know their mechanics.
According to the Dev's this should work. I'll look a bit more into the Guardians you've listed.
If you could modify this thing that would make it super good.
Looks like a Keldabe battleship
Couldn't you just tell it to follow your main fleet?
+Cuttlefish Star Empire sure, that's an option, but it takes time for it to jump and get into position. Just not optimal.
What fleet comp would you recommend?
Weapons?
Yes you should have weapons.
I see.
OriginalCanadian he tells you in the video
Was this removed from console edition? I havnt seen it in a long time
It’s on console edition?
@@scyobiempire4450 yeah. It spawned in twice for me
If you get Psi Jump drive can it merge or be upgraded?
+I am ROSSO nope
ASpec they need to make that an option. otherwise whats the point?
+I am ROSSO I've talked the devs about this, we'll see how it pans out.
same as space dragon and domesticated swarm ship
I merged it with my fleet when they had jump drives. Don't know about psi jump drives though.
This ship is ideal for my Royal Guard Fleet :P
"Tamed" one... 4.9k firepower only... but holy cow! 10k Shield with giant hitbox protects a fleet of 30k firepower! A great Guardian!! And had no jump drive... was 60 after the gamestart tho
The massive shield is great, sadly it takes way too long to get it.
got the galaxy edition on sale (for lower than base game standard price) and didnt read the fine print. I thought it would be a version that came with the DLC being priced at £50! (not sale price) BUT NO! it just has all the standard "pre-order bonus bullshit I have come to expect from game companies with multiple "editions".
Sorry that you didn't bother reading what you were buying.
how i can spawn the Dreadnought by console?
+maicolg4 I don't think you can, it's part of the map generator.
:( ok, so what is the mod who give 100% of spawn all leviathans ?
About 12k?...the first time I saw it and tried to attack it with 5k it owned me. So I stuck around and built up to 30k to take this thing down.
Couldn't you just send your fleets in, and then drop this right on them once they've engaged?
Possibly, but it's speed is limited, so it's not the best.
Can you still do this?
Does repairing it give it the most advanced tech that your Empire has at the moment?
Sadly no, you'll just have a ship with advanced tech, you don't get the actual tech itself.
Yeah, but I mean the most advanced tech that YOU have. Like is that what you outfit it with?
+teencomment no, it comes with all the tier 5 tech regardless of your tech level.
Alright.
Can you replicate the technology at all during this process?
negative.
guardian class, 1k curator energy cost, and the same lol got him next door with the curators ahahahha awesome awesome !!!!!
Anyone who's watching this video now should know that they've updated event and now the ship is not a piece of.... Still not great but not too bad
Tbh i will restore it anyway.
Because... Big ship cool weapons.
Aspec: you need 12k fleet power
My paranoid ass: how does 150k sound?
Ye, that'll do the trick.
@@A_Spec holy shit dude that was quick lol. I love your stuff dude. Even on console edition your tutorials help a whole bunch.
No worries, :)
Enjoy the rest of the content.
very dissapointing, i've had late-game battleships with like 6k. It looks badass tho, like that cruiser the caravanners sell to you.
By experience, it's worth 34k now. It's a titan you can get early on, basically.
where is the curator?
Like with many things, their position is randomized. You'll have to send some ships out and scout around your galaxy for them. They have a 10k station in some random system.
Does the dreadnought drop debris?
Not any that you can survey no, it creates a project though.
Saw it in the beginning of my empire. Attacked with only 2k corvettes. Rivals saw my firepower dropped. My empire was raped on all sides. It was not a fun experience.
What dlc ya need for this?
Leviathans
@@A_Spec I love that you respond to comments on really old videos
Dragons > Dreadnought... but the Dreadnought might make a cute flying trophy. :P
Atleast i can merge this
When we can merge fluffy?
Imagine amoeba rider. Yea the scientist who found amoeba become an admiral.
So i heard you said 12k
I attacked with 22 k
I lost...
Um, are you SURE this thing can be beaten by 12k, cause that fleet was mostly geared to kill large ships too.
Unless your fleet was geared to destroy or ignore shields, it was not the right fleet for the job.
Stellarite next?
+Daniel Kottcamp doing research into the fortress ATM, but I can squeeze in the stallarite. It's fairly simple.
ASpec Thanks, I found a mod that forces all Guardians to spawn and I'm trying to identify all of them. So far I only have found half.
I just started a game and have one of these things literally right outside my capital x-x
its actually easier to destroy gigantic fortress than this fucking 4.7k ship
Is this on console? I can’t find it
It's part of the Leviathans pack
ASpec I have found the dragon, fortress, stellerite and infinity machine, just not the dreadnought. Also, love your videos
It's out there, somewhere
So that's what that was? I killed it easily with a few cruisers that were at 4k fleet power very early into a game. However, I got no pop-ups or anything about it. I just killed it because it killed one of my science ships.
Did it have the skull and everything?
Don't remember
Then it probably wasn't the Dreadnought. I don't see how a 4k fleet could take it down.
Juggernautdemon ^
Was probs just the Pirate Galleon or something
