That is consistent with Bear Creek barrels I have used. For the price they are great. But they are finicky, in that there are a few loads they shoot really well. Other loads they throw all over the barn. I like the one on my varminter. It took a little bit of load development, but I'm very happy with the accuracy.
I bought this barrel in 24" and 1 in 9 back in 2019 out of their clearance section for 45 bucks. The barrel weighs as much as my car. LOL On a good day it'll shoot decent ammo right at 2 MOA, never better for me. I'm not exactly an ace marksman. For $45 with free ship I couldn't say no. Cheers Hide, thanks for the share
I guess the 1 in 8 twist has it's particular application's, but I'm just not a fan. I owned a 20" heavy profile barrel, but soon sold it after a few trips to the range. Just not versatile enough for me... I've got to stick to my 1 in 7 twist Ballistic Advantage barrels for all around shooting. If I was going to shoot competition, I would probably revisit the 1 in 8, but not likely to happen. BTW, I, for some reason, find these types of videos entertaining and relaxing. I've only shot their 243 barrels (2) and both with factory ammo 1.5-2". Handloads 20 thou off lands and no matter the charge, .1/2 moa at 100 yds all day long using 87 V-Max (Varget and H4350). Not intested in 5.56/223 but would buy a 22 ARC if they produce it.
Great review as always! That’s really not too bad considering the price of that barrel. I think with a little break in and different ammo. I think it will shoot sub MOA. And if it doesn’t, oh well, it’s still a good deal. Keep the videos coming.

I don't get it, Sierra and hogdgon both call for a 2.260 oal. Yours tape states 1.864?? Wow that's deep. What did the primers look like? I use the exact same load at an over all length of 2.255 and it shoots bug holes out of my 16 in bca light weight barrel, not pencil weight, light weight.
I measure at the ogive of the bullet using a bullet comparator, not the tip of the bullet. This is a way more consistent way of measuring your rounds. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.
I wish people would stop believing that faster twists lend itself to shooting heavier bullets better than lighter bullets. I've had loads with 40gr noslers that shoot amazing in my 8 twist f-class rifle. bryan litz, the ballistician for berger and the owner of applied ballistics, has actually tested this and shown there is no difference. my only thing here is the desire to spread correct information.
Yup have had the same happen over the years. Every barrel is its own animal. I look at the twist rate as a starting point for load selection. Thanks for watching

I bought a 16 inch heavy years ago for $59 . It shoots 75 gr close to 1/2 inch groups

@@TheHide I should say my BCA 6.5 Grendel with a heavy fluted barrel does shoot 1/2 inch groups. But I got that as a complete upper .
I got a 1:8 upper comming from them, will see how mine performs with 55 & 62 grain but by the looks of this I might have to go 70+

The key there is "Nosler" That's excellence in projectiles and complete factory cartridges IMO.
