These guys came to my school not too long ago! It was so awesome. Gotta sing and make music with them! There are 11 people I believe in Typhoon. Their music has so much meaning. If you guys only knew what was wrong with the lead singer, it's so sad and everything just makes sense. They have such great music, helps me concentrate on my art, makes me happy knowing I met them :)
ok its been quite a while since i last heard this song and i remember really enjoying it before but i like??? nearly started to cry whrn i heard it fhjxnsks its really well written both in terms of lyrics and the actual music ???? nice 10/10
there's allot to take in here, but I didn't see or hear a "terrible note," as others have referred to. I just saw and experienced ( for myself ) fascination and wonder. I'm still trying to interpret it, but what I got is : the boy being carried by the unknown; the boy lays down next to the unknown & dreams of his own strength.
I love this song, but not this video, there is just no connection, it is like watching TV with the sound down while listening to a song. This is such a great, great song it deserves better.
Great great work Typhoon! values instilled - even if we have viewed our self as a selfish monster at one point or another... we eventually realize that our creation needs our guidance to be what be what we never wanted to be or see👀.... so only when we change our lives we can enhance others
I really loved the videoclip! The song is OK, the lyrics are awesome. Amazing shots and nice concept, you got a really interesting look in it, reminded me a lot Where The Wild Things Are plus that kind of abstraction, well done :D
Basically what I got from the video is that you are not necessarily a combination of your parents, your guardians and your peers, but that it's your passions and dreams and hopes and aspirations that will define you, the red seed we saw was the kids aspirations, and I inferred that the reason why the parent looked so weird was because that was what defined him or her. In effect, we are all different!
I want to say it is. I see it as the story of being a young father as the title of the song. Think for example of being 18 or younger and you have a child, yet you're a child yourself. I see the figure with the horns is our father, whom seemed to have everything together when raising us, whom ends up being who we go to or rely on when raising our kids. The child is the "young father." The red cocoon is the child of the young father. The child is memorized by the cocoon, however has no clue what to do with it, and still relies on the parent figure to guide him. The cocoon, struggling on its own, fights its way into the world that is hostile. As the 4th verse of the song "And imagine the world that we’ve willed them, It’s populated with weirdos to kill them, And break their hearts," is the fight the cocoon must face once borne. The sheets to me seem like the walls of a womb of some sort; for a child, its a nonstop fight. That's my interpretation however. Would love to see other interpretations.
Ivonne Torres no problem! To go a little more in depth; it seems like in the first part of the song the singer loses hope as he starts growing up. He comes to a realization that the world is a terrible and dangerous place, and that no one is fit to live and strive in it. But then he has this unexpected child and through raising her he is able to find hope. The life that the singer thought he would live didn't work out as planned, but this child becomes his consolation, his yellow ribbon. And at the very end even though this 'young father' didn't ever intend to bring another person into the world, and was originally flat out against it, he doesn't regret a thing.
The child represents the innocence of youth. The monster represents the corruptions of this world and loss of innocence. The red cocoon represents a fetus not yet born into this world, and therefore innocent of all its corruptions. The fetus was conceived as the result of a rape (the monster raped the child with his antler. It is also the child's father, so it was an incestuous rape, making the monster both the father and the grandfather of the fetus). They are not the perfect parents, but they do their best! But in the end it just wasn't enough. The Ryan Gosling character at the end represents the aborted fetus (which explains all the blood).
when it gets to _"heres your yellow ribbon"_ my heart does a thing....
+мιℓℓєηιυм ѕριяιт i am your consolation
The mixing on this song is unreal.

I was born in September
And like everything else, I can't remember
I replaced it with scenes from a film that I will never know
And I blinked, it was over
I was thinking my life would get slower
That I would sort this shit out when I'm sober
It gets better now that you're older
I read the scares on the front page
It says we're waiting around for an ice age
It says our comforts, they come with a price tag
They cured the cancer but discovered a new plague
They say just think of the children
And imagine the world that we've willed them
Is populated with weirdos to kill them
And break their hearts
And everybody knows
That this the end
It's now fashionable
Dinner party conversation
Now I'm as old as you were when you had me
Should I be afraid? Should I start a family?
Raise them in the wild 'cause up against the city
My love is such a small thing
When you're young, you're hot
You have your whole life before you
Everyone will adore
You'll grow up, you'll be an astronaut
Or anything you want
What goes up, goes up in flames
And now your choices surround you
Indecision confounds you
And you're pacing around the place
Shows you everything you're not
And then the brief little romance
You committed a soul without its consent
To live a life as a form without its content
Because young people get bored everyday
Yeah young people, young people get bored
Never went to church, thought a song was going to save me
So I wrote a hymn on the guitar that you gave me
Singing what you spoke, we built a fire just for smoking
You know hope is just a small thing
I just called to tell you
I just called to say
Learn all your mistakes
You were my inspiration
And it wasn't all we hoped for
But we shake it off and we say
Here's your yellow ribbon
I am your consolation
I was born in September
And if I died today
Just know I don't regret you
Some things I can't explain
It's a slow descent
It's a loveless place
Every goddamn day
Let it go
No matter where you go
Know that I will follow
I just called to tell you
I just called to say
Learn all your mistakes
Passed down through generations

I think it's indie or alternative rock

Knew and been listening to this song for 2 years but still quite don't understand the song 😂
Interesting video.
I love Typhoon, this is my favorite song by far. But that video had a Lady Gaga meets Where The Wild Things Are vibe. I didn't dig it.
can someone explain this video to me? lol
post-apocalyptic parenting and coming of age story. At least that's what the lyrics point to...
Bug man?
Revalators
GREAT MUSIC! But I do have to say, the video was... interesting... I'll just leave it at that.
Ben kweller brought me here
Is that Ryan Gosling?
Thumbs Up if you came here for Star Wars: Rogue One
