  • What is the best real estate brokerage for new agents? With so many options, it can be challenging to find which real estate brokerage is right for you. Before choosing, it's helpful to interview with several companies to find what to works for you. Whether you are a new agent, or making a switch, this video may be helpful.
In this video, I give my honest review on 3 brokerages that I interviewed with when I got started in real estate . I give a detailed description of each brokerage, as well as the pros and cons of each one.
1.) Keller Williams - Largest real estate brokerage in the world. 70/30 commission split - team culture - mentorship - traditional - % contribution to profit share
2.) "boutique brokerage" luxury real estate market - niche brokerage - high end clientel
3.) Marzucco Real Estate - 100% commission - fastest growing brokerage in FL - freedom to do a variety of sales - free training weekly - young energy

    Interview 2 - 04:20
    Interview 3 - 05:06
The brokerage that I chose and why : 07:52
    Outro/Thanks : 10:30
It's important to know your options before hanging your license. This is not a recruitment video. It's simply my take on the best real estate brokerage for new agents (in my experience)
When I started in real estate, I had two goals in mind. To make more money, and to build my brand. Whether you like to "color outside the lines" like me (or not) it's crucial to do your research when choosing a brokerage as a new agent. Take several interviews and know what your goals are before getting started!

I’ve been with KW Premier in the Katy/Houston Area for 13 years. I was 45! (Never too late) Each office is independently owned and operated, so splits are different. We never had to pay that fee to our clients. These are great questions to ask a brokerage. Such a great idea to interview several Brokerages to see how you “feel” in each. I knew I would need the KW structure to help me learn the Real Estate business. The culture has been a blessing in so many ways throughout the years. I know lots of people that start with KW to get the knowledge and move on the 2nd or 3rd year. (A lot come back, too, though) TY! Love your delivery and info. Well done!

Thanks Shelley! That's great to know and your comment very informative for new agents. Since making this video, I've learned a lot about different brokerages... One of the most amazing things about UA-cam is the global community of agents who can connect in the comments! I appreciate your input and I would love to make another video on this topic with even more clarity, including the facts like you mentioned. 🙂

You may have misunderstood a few things here.
The profit share at KW does not come from the agent's side of the split, it comes from the KW side of the split.
Also, once you reach your cap you do not pay kw a split for the rest of the year.

Awesome video. From someone who has switched brokerages 3 times now this is great content for new agents. Another big thing with picking a brokerage…. At the interview they promise the world… so sometimes you find out later they don’t provide what they said they would. I’m glad to be apart of marzucco real estate! 3rd times a charm 😎

I thought the same thing abd are noticing more videos where creators grab people's attention based on the thumbnail, then not stick to it. Maybe it's to get people to watch til the end whose expecting the content which got their attention. When that's done I generally won't subscribe. Also I have a contact person that can answer questions via email/phone. Alex the Tech guy, was so rude to me when I had trouble accessing the website and pointed out that I wasn;t getting it because of my age. He then told me he was 28 years old. I never got any help from this group at all. No one returned my phone calls which lead to my losing a sale. There was no training at all at the KW office I was in and the broker chewed new agents up and spat them out! Everyone was afraid of her vicious personality. I didn't stay with them very long at all. If you are innovative and like to learn by doing, then my suggestion is to get help as you need it but also keep researching via UA-cam, blogs, etc. There is so much to learn in this business and it's never ending! I think that training programs are essential in the beginning for sure, but most often they do not cover real life situations or transaction etiquette. Keep asking questions and you will find the answers! Hope this helps, and reach out if there's anything else I can assist you with :)

However, this is wrong. You are on a 70/30 split regardless. 30% goes to the brokers. Its then the brokers who share profit of that 30% back to the agents... it does not come out of your pocket. None of the Brokerages I have ever been recruited by had been able to demand a split. And usually you can earn out of a bad split if you like the Brokerage.
Also the profit share is NOT taken from each agent it is covered by their split portion.. knowing the facts about 1 office of many independently owned offices should be part of the disclosure here.

Great video for the most part...
You are misleading about KW and the sponsorship program, and the company splits. The agent does not have a 30% split AND another fee for your sponsor. The KW office pays your sponsor out of their profit! It is called profit share!! AND it is not a pyramid scheme! Now I see why people think that. Also, KW has a cap. Once your cap is paid, the agent earns 100% commission. As far as the rest of the brokerages go, I have no idea because KW is the only brokerage I would want to be at. Make sure you fully know your content before sharing with the world. 😁

Are you still there ? My instructor at Larson Ed works for this brokerage and he absolutely loves it there and is super happy. I randomly came across your video just now I’m gonna reach back out to him to learn more because he initially had asked me a while ago if I would consider this brokerage,

Hi! I'm not at Marzucco anymore, but Josh and the whole team are great. I'm at Compass now and absolutely love it. Hoping to do a video soon on all that it has to offer xoxo

I’m in the process of interviewing prospective brokerages. Most of the seem like a nightmare! WTF?!! No standards commission splits & fees all over the place! This is worse than studying for the test! Which is a 168 hours in CO.!! Damn!!!

I clicked this video thinking it would break down several well known brokerages. Instead I got 5 minutes of KW and 5 minutes of a brokerage that literally means nothing to me.

Great Video! I just recently passed the exams in Colorado, which is good, right? Only problem? I was so laser-focused on passing tests, choosing a brokerage never came to mind! I'm middle - aged, and I don't want to make the mistake of being a newbie signing on with the wrong brokerage. Do you feel the same way about this brokerage a year later? Would there be any more wisdom you would pass on now? 😁 I'm "interviewing" brokerages this week in search for a new start to my life!

Thanks for your comment, Chad! I commend your discipline. Keep at it -- interviewing multiple companies to find the right brokerage for you is crucial. To answer your question, I still love my brokerage and I continue to proper by selling myself before ever selling the home. YOU ARE YOUR BRAND. I'd love to connect again soon and wishing you the very best!

@@chadm7872 I, too am totally new at this. I just passed my re exam 2 weeks ago. Im in Florida. I have yet to go on my first interview (also middle aged, well 40's). I would suggest talking to any agents you know personally. And also going to brokerage sites and checking how they display their clients and whats important to you like if they volunteer etc. Also, before I go into my first interview, whether in person or on zoom I'm going to make sure I know as much about the co beforehand and have important questions written out. I really liked Climers take on your first interview.

@@stephanieholts7685 I posted that comment a while ago, and I’ve signed with a brokerage. Thanks for the info, though! One thing you’ve gotta remember, though! You are interviewing them! You don’t work for them! Good luck!

So different than when I was an agent in 1996 and even again in 2014. Training consisted of “Here’s the desk, here’s the phone, lots of luck, you’re on your own!” Very cutthroat.

That is totally innacurate regarding profit share , completely ! KW profit share comes from the brokerage profits. Let’s make it simple
Your KW office owner does their books end of month ( all is reported to main corporate office).
    INCOME - EXPENSES = Profit
Profit is split amongst agents ! Simple.

Keller Williams only gives a percentage from the brokerages cut. So in the 70 30 you would only give 30 percent nothing more

I ALMOST SIGNED WITH KW! I'm glad I didn't! Too much money goes to KW franchise and brokerage. KW will nickel and dime you out the gate! No thank you! If you like to give away a chunk of your commissions, KW is for you!
