I watched every Intermatch this season because of nicolo Barella. It was long time ago that i saw a player like him. Hes so great, even If he lost hakimi and lukaku to play with because Barella plays central midfield to the right were he had hakimi and lukaku. But man hes even been better this year then last year
A mixture of kimmich and seedorf to me. Good defensive pressing ability w good range of passing and he makes good runs into attacking spaces yet can score some goals.
This guy most impressive traits is just how fit he is. He lasts 90+ mins while still giving the same level. Unlike to someone like Chiesa who's effective as sub to run at defenders Barella is there at the first and last kick of the match to battle for the win. Both Italy and Inter use him as the engine of the midfield.

Barella is a midfielder who can attack and defend vs chiesa is an attacking fw/attackinh midfielder…in addition chiesa literally won Italy euros vs barella help Milan win seria A. Both have quality achievements but I should state chiesa is one year younger so we’ll see how this ends up for both of them in the upcoming years

I respectfully disagree. At the same age the only areas in which Pirlo was better was long range passing and set-pieces. Barella has Pirlo beat when it comes to pace, strength, pitch coverage, tackling, dribbling, crossing and finishing. I would call a tie between them when it comes to flair, close quarter skills, composure and short range passing. I would take a 24-year-old Barella over a 24-year-old Pirlo. Pirlo got better with age, arguably peaking between 26-35, mostly during his stint with Juve. It remains to be seen how much better Barella can get - he's close to perfection at what he does already. Maybe he could score more goals, but then he is very happy in providing assists (he's already got 5 in 7 Serie A games this season).
