Rosy, thank you for your comment about…”not everyone wants to purchase a large plant.” Count me in on that.
I found Verbena Bampton seed for sale and purchased inspired by your glowing review 😀
I love Verbena bonariensis, I want tons of it everywhere in my garden as it complements the yellow ethereal flowers of bronze fennel so well, but can I get it to self seed in the back garden? NO. Does it survive my winters? NO, except for where It likes coming up in the cracks of the driveway, but I can never transplant it to the garden without it dying.
When you go to plant fairs Rosy's staff are really helpful. i have bought a lot of plants from her over the years. They have all survived. Great quality. interesting what are the top sellers. ANISODONTEA 'El Rayo' which i bought a few years ago from you flowers all year around even in the winter.
Thanks for that interesting countdown of your top ten sellers. I love Geums and I've just been in my garden and noticed a Totally tangerines about to burst into flower. This mild weather has got poor plants confused.
I have the same problem with verbena bonarenensis but I do manage to keep it going. I gave some to my sister and it grows much more vigorously and looks much better.
Thanks so much for sharing! Very insightful! 🙌❤️
Very interesting selections,Rosie. Some surprises on this list, which is always pleasing to me. Best of the New Year in 2025 ! 🎉
Very interesting.. Thank you Rosy.
You’ve taught me so much, and I get so excited by your plant combinations, but then I can’t buy any of them 😢. I live in the north of Ireland and I can no longer purchase online from all the wonderful growers in the UK mainland. It has been going on for years and it’s so depressing. There is limited choice locally, and it’s mostly from the Netherlands. I wish someone could help to resolve this issue. I’ve written to 10 MP’s, but they all cite the same old nonsense about Brexit and nothing improves. The RHS talk about bringing inclusivity to gardening, but if you happen to live where I do, it definitely doesn’t feel that way.
My passion for plants has been thwarted, and it has really dampened my enthusiasm. I just wish things could go back to how they were before. I do miss the thud of the seed and plant catalogues landing in the porch… kind regards from a very depressed gardener.
Thanks Rosy. Glad to hear it's not just me that can't keep Erigeron - kept hearing it grows like a weed eberywhere else.
Verbena self seeds in my garden but it doesn't for my mum who is the other side of town!
Wow very nice and interesting video ma'am.thank you for sharing this video.have a great day.and happy new year ❤❤❤new friend here...
I got the verbena b because i was told it was a reseeder. Not really the case. I have had minimal luck at gathering seed and seeding in early spring.
It all depends on your soil for reseeding. If you have trouble sow in tray sun the autumn and spring
My Verbena doesn't self seed here in the East Midlands, but sometimes I do get the odd one coming through, so all is not lost. Love the Kent Beauty plant.
I also have to replant it every year here in West Wales.
Especially loved your video on Michaelmas Daisies, and was so inspired by your lovely selection. I am looking forward to planting a row of Jessica Jones, at the back of my new border, a row of White flowered Rosemary, in the middle and a row of Mexican fleabane at the front. Intersected with White Roses. Cannot wait to put my order with you. Love your plants and your Channel. Happy New Year.
Verbena Bonariensis never seeds around my Garden I wish it did
Very interesting list. Thank you for sharing. Happy growing 🙂and have a wonderful new year.
Rosy, I have had a simlar problem with Verbena Bonariensis. But I did notice quite a few years ago, that it would self seed in damp shady areas. It grew really well on the edge of a shady lawn.
Verbena doesn't re-seed here either (Northumberland)
I've enjoyed all of your videos this year! What are you planning for the new season?
I love verbena bonariensis. It doesn’t self seed for me and I live in London.
thx Rosy
Thanks for this rosy. Can you tell me (us) a bit more of what you mean by ‘gravel garden’. It might be obvious to some, but not to me. 😊
I have the same problem with verbena
A very enjoyable and informative video. Could you please tell me if there is a website that lists plants that have PBR. Thank you kindly.
I have one free Verbena Bonariensis either from bird or wind. Quite happy with it as I wouldn't buy one!
