- hey guys welcome back to our house reno series! Today is episode 3 and week 2 of working in our new house! We are making some HUGE changes to the house this week by scraping popcorn ceiling, removing trim & carpet! My brothers were in town to help us and we got soo much done:)))) I hope you guys enjoy the video!!

Tip on getting rid of cigarette smell: 50/50 water and white vinegar spray on all carpet and anything fabric. Clean with the vinegar. Leave a mixture of vinegar and fresh-squeezed lemons in a few bowl around the house. Clean the vents using the vinegar mixture then cover with a fabric dryer sheet so when it 0:48 kicks on it will blow through the house. If you have a filter do the same as you did with the vents. My husband is a smoker and this is what I do. Oh! Don't forget all the sink drains. Use Arm and Hammer carpet deodorizer and white vinegar. This will clean and deodorize.
You will need to clean all the appliances.

Can you rent a ceiling Sander? You can get a ceiling scraper that you attach a plastic bag on.
I bought my house at 28 single mom with two kids. My older neighbors didn't know what to think. In the end, they loved my kids and enjoyed having them around. I remarried the next year and have been here for 28 years. We just had a new roof installed and the next project is new flooring.

Great video! I’ll subscribe and keep watching. Getting that carpet out will help a lot with cigarette smell. Carpet can get pretty nasty over the years. 😉
It definitely did help quite a bit already. I do think we will have to use some primer though!

We got it checked out and nope! Which is awesome because it really opens up the whole space!
