Never been much of a commenter on UA-cam. I always like to watch in silence. But I found Scrump Toggins a while back and it revived my passion for RDR2. This video... the emotions.. the love everyone was pouring in for Scrump... all of it is a testament to how good your ability is to act and connect with others, including the viewers. I teared up, laugh, cried, and of course, said goodbye. Thank you for bringing this character to life. So long, cowpoke... see you on the other side
At first I was like, “what?! That’s such a senseless death”. But there was something poetic about being able to see in those last moments the start of another player’s storyline. I agree that the brevity and randomness ended up being the perfect way to end it. He was a main character to us watching, but it hits home as a beat to re-emphasise that he isn’t the main character of the RP world, which is great. Very well done!
I felt similarly. At first I was annoyed and thought what a lame way for it to end but in the grand scheme of things it felt much more organic and raw. Which ultimately ended up being the best.
Those darn Cove Boys are the sweetest criminals in all the Crossing. Scrump inspired so much creativity and art amongst the rats, it has been such a treasure to experience his story. Rest easy Scott, hope there’s a little slice of Paris up there for ya.
I completely forgot the cove boys were actually Oglethorp and his crony. It was the most endearing part of the video to me. Especially when he says Scrump is a wonderful friend. 😢
The farewell to Julius hit in such a real way. Been such a joy watching the rootin' and tootin' antics of Scrump Toggins. Thanks for the stellar RP, Tommy, what a wonderful story it was

What a perfect way to end it. Not only did he succumb under a case of unluckiness, but his death will now be a building block for that gang of vagabonds to which they can spin new narrative threads from. I will miss Scrump very much.
I know I missed a lifetime of narrative by only watching on youtube, but the story of Scrump Toggins meant a lot to me as well. Playing detective to fill in the blanks brought me even closer. The beauty of the omniscient is I can relive this tale. Until then...thank you Scrump.

I put off watching this all day because I knew it was gonna fuck me up. Cried the entire time. I didn't often make stream, I mainly watched here - I can't imagine how freaking shattered I'd be if I was a participator or there for every moment. What a great story. I’ve been watching since day 1 (on UA-cam) and put off watching the last couple episodes because I didn’t want to see it end. I always enjoyed watching Scrump and what he would get into. You played him so well with his voice, humor, emotion, and flaws. I think this ending was perfect. He got to say goodbye to everyone except the person that mattered most, which is often how things seem to happen in real life. I imagine Roxanne sitting at their cabin by the window waiting and waiting, wondering where he is. Maybe the idea that something bad happened crossed her mind, but she was in denial until she had to come to terms with it. Or maybe someone from the gang came to tell her what happened, hat in hand. His death was perfectly Scrump. As the chase started I imagined there would be a big gunfight. But instead of going out in a blaze of glory he was accidentally pushed off the cliff. It’s very poetic if you think of the cliff jumping he had done with his friends in the past. I like to think he was happy, just like he would yell as he jumped off the cliffs before. And finally, we got to peek into a different storyline with the bandits. I like to think they didn’t really know Scrump, but were more so freaking out because they killed a deputy. What happens next? Maybe they’ll go on the lamb when word gets out. Maybe Scrump’s gang will go after them. But that’s a story for someone else to tell. Well done, and thank you Thomas!!!
I grew up watching westerns with my dad, and have always been a huge fan. The Ballad of Scrump Toggins stands in my mind and heart as one of the best stories told of the old west. RIP, Scrump. May the sun be always at your back, and may you stay steady on the trail eternal. ❤
Scrump Toggins was the character that introduced me to RedM RP. I watched a number of your earliest videos, was hooked almost instantly, and decided to get into RedM RP myself. I tried to join WildRP but my lack of any RP experience prevented me from getting onto the Whitelist. Given my inexperience and the level of RP that all of your videos on WildRP portray, it was definitely the right call. Anyway, that was a long winded way for me to say thank you to both Thomas and Scrump for introducing me to something I no idea I so desperately needed in my life. I've spent 2948hrs (as of writing this) RPing on a couple different servers since then, and have been part of so many intertwining storylines that I wouldn't trade for the world. RP can be like a 100K page choose your own adventure book filled with endless decisions for a handcrafted character that you become attached to and so look forward to the next episode filled with memorable characters and relationships. I'm sad to see Scrump go, but it was really the most perfect ending - you couldn't have scripted that any better. I'm excited to see more Dr. Croom stories! Maybe one day I'll reapply for WildRP. Anyway, thank you again Thomas!

I haven’t commented throughout the whole Scrump saga but I have to now. I knew I was going to cry while watching this but wow. 🥺 This was so emotional and heartfelt I almost started full-blown sobbing. Especially when you were overcome with emotions, Thomas. It just goes to show how much love and care goes into the characters all of you play in Wild RP. Scrump is how I was introduced to the wonderful world of Wild RP. I could almost never catch the Twitch streams but I watched every video uploaded to UA-cam. When I was feeling kinda down I’d put on a video and laugh at Scrump and the gang’s antics. I hate when things end. So much so it took me over a month to finish the saga on the VOD. This story and character means a lot to me and a lot of others and Scrump Toggins finale hours and the song Jordan made gives this thing an ending it truly deserved. To Thomas and the rest of the WildRP cast, you made me care about a bunch of people roleplaying in a cowboy game. I’m so glad I was introduced to this kind stuff through the streams and thankful you kept 99% of the vode up. All hail the Rat King…. That truly was some Wiiiiild RP

It was from none other than Scrump aka the Velveteen Bandit that I learned about the song The Dress by Dijon, singing it to Ro through the prison walls in St Denis. I still listen to it a lot, and it will always remind me of Scrump and Ro. RIP

God damn this was a great video. I wasn't up to date with much of the lore but it still managed to choke me up and had me reflecting on how impactful and irrelevant one persons life can be at the same time. Everything revolves around you in your own little world. Your friends, family, loved ones. All your stress and worries. All your joys in life. Your dreams, goals, and hopes. Thinking you will get to them tomorrow. It's all so big under a microscope. And just like that. It's gone in a split second. You take a step back from the microscope to see the macro. The bigger picture. Where your world collides with a strangers. People that are living in their own worlds as well, simply looking to rob a man, this stranger for some money, having no idea who he was. Your videos and characters are awesome. 👏

I really enjoyed watching all of these episodes. The montage at the end had me tripping
It was from none other than Scrump aka the Velveteen Bandit that I learned about the song The Dress by Dijon, singing it to Ro through the prison walls in St Denis. I still listen to it a lot, and it will always remind me of Scrump and Ro. RIP

This is just so cool and amazing. I love how this was on opportunity to, like you said, play a role you'd never be cast for. But you portrayed him so well and brought this character to life! Such a pleasure watching the adventures of Scrump Toggins. Thank you!

God damn this was a great video. I wasn't up to date with much of the lore but it still managed to choke me up and had me reflecting on how impactful and irrelevant one persons life can be at the same time.
Everything revolves around you in your own little world. Your friends, family, loved ones. All your stress and worries. All your joys in life. Your dreams, goals, and hopes. Thinking you will get to them tomorrow. It's all so big under a microscope. And just like that. It's gone in a split second. You take a step back from the microscope to see the macro. The bigger picture. Where your world collides with a strangers. People that are living in their own worlds as well, simply looking to rob a man, this stranger for some money, having no idea who he was.

Why does this character affe t me so!?!?! You should turn this into it's own film! Scrump Toggins had more character and development than 80% of modern TV and film! He came to the perfect end in that it wasn't perfect. Thanks, Thomas, for giving us such a wonderful story. ❤
