Vintage can be used to refer to any time period more than 20-30 years back, whereas retro was a term made up and used to refer to the 60's and 70's. When you are referring to clothing or furniture, the term antique would be used for pieces from the 50's and before.
When you wanna dress retro but you wear sherpa's, ripped jeans. Air force 1's, etc (anything trendy basically saying im scared to dress retro for school)
