I got a crazy guide once and he happened to be the trip leader as well. He made us do all sorts of crazy stunts! We got tricked when he asked all of us sit to one side of the raft. Was wondering what was he trying to do and suddenly he flipped the raft and threw us all out into the river! Gosh really hated him at first. He asked if we like the raft capsizes and we said no but he said he loves it. So he keeps throwing us out into the river until i told him it's ok u don't have to flip the raft, i can jump out myself..lol. Towards the end point, i got a shock of my life when he asked us all out and sit on the rock. Then he let go the raft. How on earth are we going to continue without the raft? I was flabbergasted and thought he was nuts! In front of the stream was filled with rocks and he asked us to form a line and hold the life jacket of the person in front. He told us we all going to have a nature water slide! We all slide down the stream at quite a fast speed. Strange thing no one's hurt and all had fun and thrill of a lifetime, thks to the crazy guide. Crazy as he might be but I guess he knows what he is doing to ensure we have the most fun, safely of cuz. An awesome guide indeed. The trip wouldn't be the same without him definitely.
That ranger seems like a good sport. Although not really prepared for a rescue. Wtf does he take his gun to the river for but has no life vest, ropes or anything? Only in America.
Just did opening weekend and I also got caught in the poop chute. I was suctioned under twice. I heard you say in the video that it's an undercut? Is that why I kept getting pulled under there?
What about the time the raft I was on saved a kayaker from drowning in one of the waves? still awesome, but You missed a lot of things ive seen, like the time a raft completely flipped over and someone was stuck under it, another raft leaned so that the front of their raft was under the side of the flipped over one and then leaned back to flip it back over
Yeah, "thats why you come to the Gauley river with professionals..." btw said professionals aren't wearing shoes no matter how badass their pfd's are. Awesome vid buddy. Rubber side down.
