That's a great idea, double planting a bed like that. We just put in a bed of asparagus and will definitely plant some leafy greens in there, probably will stay cool because of the ferns also. Brilliant! My wife and I love your book, have done several of your recipes and they all work great! My wife did the dandelion ferment, and the plants love it!
Great idea. Is this a new bed you are establishing and you're not picking the asparagus? Or do you do this each year on older beds when you are done harvesting your asparagus? Not sure I understand when you are planting the cover crop. We are picking from a patch that has been here for 50 yrs, but we'd like to start a new one as well.
