"Yeeeah, the brass!" Haha, loved that part! XD This was fascinating! It was really cool to hear you breaking down exactly what is happening with the music in this trailer! I haven't watched them all, but I think the League cinematic 'The Call' could work well with your analysis! Also 'Warriors' and 'Awaken' are amazing too! (As for your question at the end... I have never played League! XD I just really love the cinematics since watching Arcane! :) )
Ok, so the whole thing centers around a being called "Kindred" who is the personification of death in the League of Legends universe (like the grim reaper). It's a dual being. The "Lamb" and the "Wolf". When they come for you, you either accept the Lamb's arrow and get a peaceful death, or you rage against it and die a nasty / violent death from the wolf. With that in mind, the first sequence in the cinematic is Morgana (More-Gah-Nuh) and Kayle (like the green leafy shit Kale), twin sisters whose mother was the Aspect of Justice, and gave them each half of her sword to fight the Darken (kinda like a demons). This particular one they fight is named Aatrox (Eh-Trocks). His sword pulses like that because where the Darken actually resides is within the sword, and when someone picks up the sword, they are corrupted into the thing we see the sisters fighting. In the game we always see Morgana and Kayle how they are now, whereas this video is them way in the past before the both accepted who they really are. Morgana accepts the "darkness" (for lack of a better explanation) of humanity and Kayle becomes the new Aspect of Justice forsaking all humanity within her entirely and becoming very cold and inhuman. That's why you see her smirk / give Morgana a condescending look as she walks by. She's disgusted with "what she's becoming". You'll also notice that neither the lamb or wolf are present in this fight because even though the body Aatrox corrupted died in the fire, Aatrox himself doesn't die, because he's inside the sword, which is indestructible, hence, he's immortal. For the second sequence, the character's name is Yasuo (Ya-Sue-Oh). He's a very popular character who actually has his own mini movie that they made about him that's fucking beautiful, but the gist is he's like a samurai who's spent his whole life fighting and has special wind powers which are so unique that at one point in his life he was framed for killing his master because someone used something that made it look like he did it, and was chased down by his brother and they fought and he ended up killing his brother in self defense. Anyway, this sequence is a vision given to him of one of his possible futures. In this particular one, he's given up on his path and stopped using his wind powers entirely at first, and eventually realizes he *needs* them if he wants to be able to save these people, so he starts using them again, but you'll notice there's no blood anywhere, and that's because he refuses to actually kill anymore, and so instead he uses the wind to knock people out, not kill them. Then at the end, he sees a literal *wall* of arrows coming at him, and decides that he's saved all the people in the village, so he's no longer needed, and closes his eyes, apparently accepting his death, but they've purposely left it open, because that's what Yasuo often does. He closes his eyes to center himself before he acts (like earlier in the cinematic where he split the arrow in half), so it could be he's accepting his death, and that white arrow represents the Lamb's sweet release of death, or if you look closely you'll also notice that in the background the Wolf lurks, waiting for Yasuo to try to resist, so it can attack him and "take his life" violently. Then in the last sequence, the guy with the big sword is Tryndamere (Trin-Duh-Meer) and his special power is that he has a supernatural rage that is so powerful, he literally can't die, no matter what (for a short amount of time), and so you see him fighting the Wolf, but the cool thing is that he isn't really fighting the Wolf or the Lamb, he's *actually* fighting all the people that surrounded him in the very beginning of the video, it's just that we're seeing the fight *conceptually* as him "fighting off death" (AKA the Lamb and the Wolf) and at first the Lamb is confused because who is this man that isn't dying when they come to claim him and accepts neither the sweet release of death nor dies to the violence of the wolf? Nobody has ever done that before, and all of a sudden the Lamb lowers their bow because they realize it isn't his time to die. His wife Ashe (Ash) has come to save his life and fight by his side, and as she arrives, we fade back to reality as his rage dissipates (we see this physically as his eyes go from red, back to their normal color), because this woman he initially married for political reasons but then ended up falling in love with for real has come to save his life and fight by his side. She is the literal definition of a true ride or die and it's just......*chef's kiss*
Your reaction was a nice breath of fresh air, because I usually react to animation/cinematography breakdowns. So getting a music focused breakdown was nice. I don't know if you accept video recommendations on youtube but if you do, another League cinematic (with my favorite music) would be 'The Call'. For something outside League, I would love to see your reaction to 'Ludwig The Accursed and Holy Blade' from the game Bloodborne. (Which is BGM for a boss fight)
I'm surprised you immediately recognized Old Yasuo! The other champions throughout it were Kayle (the angel-like character), her sister Morgana (the more "fallen-angel"), Aatrox (the red demon), Yasuo but old, Kindred (the lamb and wolf), Tryndamere, and Ashe. This cinematic is setup in 3 different times, the first being in the past with Kayle, Morgana, and Aatrox, since in present day both Kayle and Morgana hate each other (you could even see the side eye from Kayle in this video). The two sisters are what's called "aspects" in the League universe; basically they climbed the highest peak and received a godlike power. Another way you can receive godlike power is through "ascension", and Aatrox is an ascended, however it went wrong, which is why he is the way he is (he's called a Darkin). So you basically have Gods vs Fallen God. The next scene is a potential future with Yasuo, since he's not currently that old, and if I remember he's just fighting random Noxians (one of the main cities in the lore). However the cool part about the scene is how it ends, with the white arrow shot right at him, since it not only transitions to the last scene but also has big implications. This is where I'll talk about Kindred; they are the embodiment of death in LOL (the voice at the beginning with the line was lamb, one half of Kindred). They come for you when you're about to die, and you basically choose if you want a quick, painless death from lamb (being shot with an arrow) or if you try to run away from death, you get the violent chase from Wolf. In the Yasuo scene, that arrow is Kindred's arrow, and you can even see Wolf's eyes in the forest, meaning Yasuo canonically dies there but accepts his death. Now you have Tryndamere fighting death itself, and something you pointed out was his rage. In game, Tryndamere's Ultimate is called "Undying Rage", where he's literally too angry to die. It's why he's fighting Kindred, he just refuses to die. Then at the end, you have Ashe saving him (and you can see all the rage leave his body), since Ashe and Tryndamere are actually married in the lore! Hope this clears up a few things 😄
true.. even seasoned players while watching this didnt picked up instantly that it was Old man Yasuo.. they kept saying it was either Jax (?) or Yasuo´s master or even Yi
the random noxians arent noxians at all... they are the Navori... a sort of Ionia sect that has no problem in invading other Ionia settlements like the ones in this video.. u can watch Necrit Lore Breakdown video on this cinematic to clear all doubts :D
little aclarations, first, Darkins arent made with a wrong asencion, its just a name, since theyre not any different from other ascendeds in that matter, what makes them special is that they use hemomancy (blood magic) which makes them virtually immortalshey, they, in fact, were "good" gods long ago. Second, Noxus isn't a city, its a whole empire. And third, but its more a curiosity, we can see the lambs silhouette in the fire burning Aatrox, just staring, since Aatrox cant die, they are just there, doing nothing. Fourth, Tryndas undying rage comes from Aatrox too, he gave him some of his hemomancy (so then he can take his body)
13:50 Some behinde of scenes of other projects shows us they make music and video at same time. They sketch the video and send to the ones making the music the sketch of key frames with time that needs match emotion, certain words or tones.
Thank you for this! I was wondering if they did this. It's common practice with films so I figured maybe this is what they do with video games as well.
Riot take a lot pride in their music division - very likely that is actual orchestra recording. Watch "Bridging the Rift" Pt 4 (making of Arcane docu) "Musical Misfits" - it will blow your mind how much of an effort they put into that , me thinks =D Music video to watch: "True Damage " - "Giants" =)
There is a bunch of league content that is like this, The call would probably be your next best bet, there is KDA and pentakill like you mentioned and there is true damage their more hip hop band (only one song for now) but yea if you want to keep the league train going you will be eating good for a long time
Their voices definitely blended together really well. I thought that they had one singer sing multiple parts here. I should’ve looked into the scoring after the reaction. 😅
I too liked (still do) to play bot games, they are incredibly relaxing without the pressure of needing to not "drag my team mates down". These reaction videos always makes me want to put on my League playlist and queue up a game. It's always really cool to hear musician's point of view for League's music, breaking down the things they hear and how it can make the audience feel. Very insightful video. I would love to see your reactions to any other of Riot's music whether that is music videos, cinematics, champion themes or even Arcane's soundtracks (Songs made for the show). The champion themes would be especially interesting as I don't think they get the love they deserve, there are so so many good ones and you can often get a sense of who the character is before you even read about them.
Another reactor did point out that in this cinematic there is some fowly work done, but it’s so well integrated into the music no one really noticed. I highly recommend watching Heartsteel paranoia, as well as all the top ranked cinematics. The Call is more of that epic orchestral vibe, and Awaken has more modern pop, but they both are amazing. Not all the music from the OST for Arcane has a music video but I still recommend giving them all a listen.
Hello, as I said before, I liked many of your reactions. Wagakki Band, Still here by LOL, the Baldurs gate OST, Kaikai Kitan, and several groups that I like but I haven't seen your reactions to them yet, but I expect much more from your content. Thank you very much for your work, for your videos and your way of reacting, I wish you the best. A greeting from Spain.
Loved the reaction. 16:11 No, you managed to escape, we're "Still Here" and trying to break free. They do have other games though that aren't nearly as worrying if you want to see more of these characters, locations, stories, music, etc. 16:34 KDA is always good, they also have a boyband called Heartsteel now, haven't kept up with Pentakill enough to recommend anything in particular from their library.

This was great, glad to find your channel! I associate with LoL exclusively for the music. Riot's music department is preposterously talented, with a diversity of music stylings and genres ranging from K-Pop (K/DA), to hype-up songs (Legends Never Die), to metal (Rell, the Iron Maiden), to classical (Viego, the Ruined King). Viego's character theme is straight up a piano concerto. There is a wealth of gorgeous, powerful, and experimental music to be found in Riot's discography. Should you decide to go down this rabbit hole, you will always find something to surprise you.
While Riot does do composition all by itself a great deal of it is done in the classic style of movie soundtracks and it really shows in cases like this.
I suggest listening to Champion Themes rather than its bands. Some of my favs: Aurelion Sol, Taliyah, Braum, Hwei aaand also Amumu Would also def. recommend Seasonal Event Themes, such as the Original LoL Theme, the Xmas and Halloween (Harrowing) Varation of them. For those who need context: -This whole cinematic is about Kindred. They are the aspect of death. If you accept death, Lamb (the pale one) gives you a swift release with her arrow. If you avoid it, Wolf (the dark one) will hunt you down and make it more painful -The first scene is in the past somewhere around Damacia. Where the two patron sisters fight Aatrox the darkin. Darkin are akin to demon, they possess an host. In the current lore the sisters do not talk anymore because of their vastly different view on justice. Kindred is always present for a death. So when Kayle (the blonde one) burns it all down. Killing the host of Aatrox, the shape can be seen in the flame -The second is a possible future where Noxus successfully invaded Ionia. Yasuo is trying to save a few people and then dies. You can see wolf eyes in the treeline and Lamb arrow finish him off. You can see he accepts his faith because he looks up for a fraction of a second (Noticing Lamb's arrow) and makes sure to finish off the last guy before kneeling. -The last if Tryndamere in the present state of the lore. He has some of Aatrox blood and a rage so great every time he comes close to dying he pushes it away. Hence why he is fighting Kindred, fighting death. His wife Ashes comes to save him at the end but lamb will come back eventually. -The "I'm still here" is not so much the heroes it is Kindred themselves because death is inevitable. ADDITIONAL INFO; the hero fighting Kindred in the snowy fields is Tryndamere, and his eyes go red because in the game his ultimate ability is a bloodfrenzied fury (in the lore they let it be understood as some kind of infection from Aatrox's blood magic), which makes him literally unkillable for a short amount of seconds, making him the only human capable of fending off death, therefore the only human who can survive a direct encounter with Kindred.

@@quantumphayerngl I thought it was Yi until I saw the wind wall 😅😅 but I'm an Iron player even tho I main Yasuo 🤦
Watch "Bridging the Rift" Pt 4 (making of Arcane docu) "Musical Misfits" - it will blow your mind how much of an effort they put into that , me thinks =D
Music video to watch: "True Damage " - "Giants" =)
There is a bunch of league content that is like this, The call would probably be your next best bet, there is KDA and pentakill like you mentioned and there is true damage their more hip hop band (only one song for now) but yea if you want to keep the league train going you will be eating good for a long time
There are two singers here ... not immediately obvious because their voices are somewhat similar.
Tiffany and the vocalist from FORTS.
The champion themes would be especially interesting as I don't think they get the love they deserve, there are so so many good ones and you can often get a sense of who the character is before you even read about them.
for me i like that riot mixes some classical music with modern music style makes it unique imo
The whole theme is "StillHere", referencing Kindred who is DeathIncarnate. Whether it's the Past (Morgana &Kayle), Present (Tryndamere), and Future (OldMan Yasuo). Death is "Still Here" no matter whattime it is. You can see Kindred in the Fires of thePast destroying Aatrox, Facing Tryndamere, andShooting a Fatal Arrow at Old Man Yasuo in thehead.
Necrit have lore explaination video on it Leagueoflegendscinematic StillHere. #The Awaken, Warriors, The Call, Still Here Cinematic and Riot Forge games like Song of Nunu are canon to Arcane show.
That person Ashe came to save was her husband, Tryndamere. Another champion in League.
this popped up on my recommended and i really enjoyed this reaction so insta sub
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Riot Games Lore Universes
1# Arcane_Legends of Runeterra_Riot Forge_League of legends Universe Site_Full Canon Skins.
2# Non Canon lore Skins like: Project, Star Guardians,..
3# Valorant
This was an awesome video! Idk if u have done anything else league related, but imma look! If not, please do! ❤
Edit: watch it all...
While Riot does do composition all by itself a great deal of it is done in the classic style of movie soundtracks and it really shows in cases like this.
I love the things what Made 2wei, they Made the instrumental
A good trailer for the music is Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Cinematic Trailer. I would recommend it whenever you have time.
Adding it to the list!
Your channel reminds me a lot of Marco meatballs channel. Also I can recommend the music from monster hunter, genshin impact and honkai starrail
I’m a fan of Marco Meatball! And sure! I’ll add those games to the list!
I suggest listening to Champion Themes rather than its bands. Some of my favs: Aurelion Sol, Taliyah, Braum, Hwei aaand also Amumu
Would also def. recommend Seasonal Event Themes, such as the Original LoL Theme, the Xmas and Halloween (Harrowing) Varation of them. And the instrumentals of the Starguardian Songs
And yes playing league (on and off) since 2012
Ashe, the wife, comes to save her husband Trendamere
Yo…wait. They’re married?!? I love playing Ashe (when I ever do play) and I had no idea! 😭😭😭
@@NittPicc they are... at first it was a Marriage of Convenience as neither Trynd and Ashe loved each other... However with the passing of time... Love reached both of them.. its actually kinda cute and sweet to think about
Favorite character is Caitlyn but in the serial Arcane also Jinx... if you love league a recommendation. Btw.. wonderfull how you are able to hear al those different instruments... Riot has a lot of beautifull cinematics from league... and welcome to play again.. I know it isn't easy but the community needs nice people in the game... playing myself and yes .. some of them are bullying a lot but not all of them... if you want to play again you are free to join the game when I am playing. Wishing you lots of fun litlstening and enjoying music. Btw... check out Lorna Shore's - pain remains trilogy... or Suneater ... heavy deathcore but a masterpeace to me.
For those who need context:
-This whole cinematic is about Kindred. They are the aspect of death. If you accept death, Lamb (the pale one) gives you a swift release with her arrow. If you avoid it, Wolf (the dark one) will hunt you down and make it more painful
-The first scene is in the past somewhere around Damacia. Where the two patron sisters fight Aatrox the darkin. Darkin are akin to demon, they possess an host. In the current lore the sisters do not talk anymore because of their vastly different view on justice. Kindred is always present for a death. So when Kayle (the blonde one) burns it all down. Killing the host of Aatrox, the shape can be seen in the flame
-The second is a possible future where Noxus successfully invaded Ionia.
@Nittpicc if you like card games and League of Legends you should give Legends of Runeterra which is a Riot games League of Legends Card Game which is slot of fun
I’ve thought about playing it. I’ll check it out!
lots of video games hasve clasical misic in it. i recomend to take a look in for example Metal Gear Solid, Snake Eater sonud track
please more
awaken, warrior, the call, and my favorite but very different the curse of the sad mummy
people who play this game all day and/or professionally: "no idea who sword guy is, is he a new champ?"
flute teacher who played 10 bot games: "thats obviously yasuo"
💀😂💀
its 100% done with a live orchestra. if you haven'y seen Arcane yet i must emplore you to watch the series and then watch the making of the show on youtube. it shows them using an ochestra for the final song which sting sings "what could have been"
Just to throw it out there since you said you love Ashe the man she saves in the cinematic is actually her husband in the lore. EDIT: the characters name is tryndamere.
👍🏾
There's tons of good League stuff that you should check out, but I see alotta people already recommend it so how about some Alan Wake 2 stuff? Herald of Darkness the music video is amazing, like a rock-musical!!!
I'm a huge Alan Wake fan. I haven't played Alan Wake 2 so, heck yeah! I'll put it on the list!
I'd say Herald of Darkness is a bit of a spoiler so id be careful :)@@NittPicc
