It would be affordable to whoever can afford it if that makes sense. I go to the medical building at 1647 Benning Rd the McDonald's is or was the local hangout for people to sell, buy, trade their prescription medicine that most were getting from the Huron Pharmacy located at 1647 Benning Rd. The area is still plaqued by homicides, violence, crime.
This "Gentrification" Is running US out of Our Homes & Community in DC.😢 It's No longer Affordable, even for Home Owners & Condo Owners in DC. The Old Days of "Chocolate City" & "Vanilla Suburbs" are Long Gone😅 I Enjoy Your Videos & Want More 😍👏🏾👍🏾 Please 💞
Agreed! To buy is an asset & investment worth sacrificing for. Be prepared for Property Taxes, Insurance, & Repairs/Upkeep! It's all extra, out of pocket. Get a fixed Mortgage Rate & try to pay off the Mortgage sooner than later to save on Interest Rates. Beware: Condos have Pro's & Cons, Condo Associations make Rules that you agree to upon Purchase. If you need advice, I'm glad to Share😉 Foreclosure Is Real, even once the Mortgage is Satisfied. First Time Homeowners Programs are beneficial for Down payments & reducing the amount you borrow.💯 STR8 OUTTA DC 🥰
This site sounds like the location of the DC Transit car barn during the 1960s -- unless I mixed up this site with the one where the old A&P Grocery Store used to be on that side near 17th and Benning Road NE across the road from Hechinger Mall.
It used to be a building of a black owned newspaper not far from 21st it was even there as I grew into adulthood it’s sad we had to see that go also AllDaz clothing store owned by Kurt Bone
I’m sick of the urban developers overcrowding our city with all these apartments ! Our city is not built for all these apartments all of our roads are tight ! Our highways aren’t like LA or Texas ! What are they thinking ?
Ive been seeing your content for a while and personally have loved what I see,,I appreciate what you do,,I share it with the deep minds and young people I know,, Though now I’m curious is there a way you can do a video on skate park at 2400 east capital St NE,its been there for about 10+ years dating back to sept 4 2011 and is in conversations of being demolished amidst the redevelopment of the RFK site,I use to work for Douglas development and used that door to find out as I could about the “Skatepark at RFK” formerly known as “Maloof Skatepark” events DC is open to the demloision and mayor bowser directs all comments to her sports and area development team if you ask her anything in person😂 I’m kinda curious too see what you’d come up with,,mind you I’m only 27 just talking about a skate park I’ve been going to for the past 10+ years that’s just being spoke on as collateral damage amongst developers 😢
The new housing model for those who need public assistance is affordable housing. Most states are moving away from public housing because it has systemic issues such as keeping people in poverty, mental illness, and diminished opportunity to buy a house/gain higher wages in the workplace. Folks in the comments talking about crime are right: this area has been plagued by addiction, which always often starts due to trauma. Of course, public housing isn't far away, as public housing has been like a trauma factory leaving people to be plagued by gun violence, single mothers who do not get the financial, emotional or spiritual help they need; and a general street culture of trauma informed judgements (don't go to college, get quick money selling drugs, and your body is a money maker that can be sold for sex). Happy to see a different way of living is coming for folks in public housing.
Blame is on the school systems. They don't teach kids from high poverty families how to secure housing, with mentoring, handholding them through the process.

I hope I can afford it no bap
How can I sign up for rent 😂 I need an apartment
Ideally it should be affordable, but knowing how America functions, very likely it won’t last long. 😤
We can become owners. Buying with a couple housemates and payoff the mortgage ASAP
Its been 4/5 murders within a 3 block radius the past 2 months 😂😂
