Allan is an absolute machine. Really enjoy seeing a behind the scenes look of how the sausage is made and the thoughtfulness to each decision by a successful retail business owner. Thanks for sharing this one with us!
I'm almost tempted to make the 6 hour drive from northern NY to Baltimore to sell you my collection. I have a near complete collection of MOTU origins (figures, vehicles, and playsets) PLUS a ton of vintage GI Joe figures and vehicles including the USS Flagg that I want to unload.
I find that most people using eBay to price things don't account for the eBay fees. On every sale I make I lose 13.9% for eBay's fees, if I sell on marketplace I usually take that off.
Marketplace can be sketchy. I've gotten low balled in person too many times, and I am not trying to meet up with someone for $500+ on an item or two. If it's Marketplace, it's shipping only. If it's eBay, I'll offer you local pickup, since it's already paid.
Allan, I noticed those totes are stacked high, I'm hesitant too stack that high, I have the same totes but some are full of videogames and consoles, others full of loose figures. When you stack that high is it generally not the heaviest stuff inside?
I try for the life of me to stack heavy at the bottom. When I do have really heavy totes I use racks to separate them to save the lids from crushing through
I came by the store the other day unfortunately weren't there took a drive up from New York City Alan you got to get in more shirts that aren't extra large we made sure to get our passports stamped and when I was in Walmart the first thing I thought of when I saw those shirts was you
You should really consider reaching out to a television show. Swear toy hobby/collecting is on a rise but feel lot more people then you think are interested to watch stuff like this. Idk maybe I’m wrong but, feel a Netflix series or some type of reality tv show, a daily life of toy stores more people would watch then you think. And mainly cuz of you, a different/not typical toy collector guy, dude with tats owning a toy store Swear there’s a tv show there somewhere lol
You have to organize everything first to know what you have. If not if you have duplicate items you'll get different pricing. It all takes time. No one realizes this. Almost like saying you get a 25,000 piece collection, why don't you have it out tomorrow?

Absolutely but I factor in my cost to run the stores. Employees, taxes, rents. Etc.

Because there 2.6 million items in our stores and other online outlets. It’s a massive process to clean organize and package before it can be sold
